Elane listened to the wizard intently, quickly as he divulged more information about the mission several questions started to swirl around her head. When he handed her the note book she raised her eye brow looking it over. “Excuse me, but may I ask....Um..first what is this book and you mentioned corruption. In what way is the plane corrupted. Spare no detail please, knowing more could help us greatly”

Safana would nod along to his explanation and perk up at Elane's question. She would pay attention to his answers carefully and begin to take notes. Anything she could learn about what they had to face.

If there were physical threats it might mean she'd have to fight. She wasn't much of a fighter herself but she could defend herself, she eyed Elane to try and size up whether or not she could defend herself properly. If she could that would help if not she'd focus on keeping her safe, She figured a magical scholar was going to be more directly useful here.

The wizard pauses for a moment, before saying, "for the first question, these are simple blank books, which you may write in whatever you please," he said, before taking another sip. "Nothing for you to worry over, but something I think you'll find useful." After draining the tea, he set the cup down. "As for the corruption, that matter is more...difficult to approach. It is, to put it bluntly, sexual in nature, the furthest thing from what I intended this realm to be. No doubt, the source is also demonic in origin. Also, the nature of the realm has only intensified it-since it is a place free from the constraints of time and death, where nothing grows older or truly dies. As you might imagine, this can lead to some of its occupants developing extreme...appendages, so to speak."

"Thank you," he said, as Bartholomew poured him some tea again. "Is that enough, or would you like to know more about Merrywoods before you leave?"

"Oh I see...silly me." Elane slowly put the book inside her bag as it joined a few others in her miniature collection. Turning back to listen she was both a bit off put and intrigued at the wizards explanation on the sexual nature of the plane. The explanation only created more questions, as Elane's mind started to wander thinking of many possibilities. "Umm...I honestly have a ton of questions and would like to know everything possible, but I think that would be very...well troublesome. Umm...how about...Oh...are there any friendly creatures or beings in the plane, ones not driven by lust and a sexual nature?"

Safana would nod at Elane's question. "If there is anything that is actually friendly in there it would be good to know. If not in some ways it makes this easier, at least we would know we were just dealing with opposition. But if there are some potential allies we'll have to keep that in mind with everything we meet."

She sat back and waited for the answer, hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.

He nodded, slowly. "While I believe some residents would be friendly, I believe they may be...altered. I have not ventured into it myself, as such a corruption, if spread to me, would have terrible results, and I'd rather not see it. Regardless, I feel a few residents may have retained their sanity, even if they may have been affect physically, so you'll hopefully gain allies on the way."

(Sorry about taking so long to respond; had some irl stuff come up.)

Putting her hand on her chin she looked at the wizard with a confident expression. “I see, well thats all the questions from me. I don’t know if my companion might have a few.” She then gave a polite gesture and leaned back on her chair.

"How quickly will we be able to withdraw if we come up against something too tough for us to handle? I ask because I don't think either of us are combat specialists and I'm going to assume that being defeated or captured would have... consequences for us."

Safana said with an incline of her head to her companion.

"If nothing else do you have a map or some kind of reference point for where these problems seem to be? If we can approach it in a more organized fashion it'll improve our chances."

"You can escape through a gateway placed in the world, but I feel that the consequences would not be as dire as you think-I have made it so that no one can die in there, nor age-however, that said, if you suffer to much, the corruption of the world would probably infect you, and I would have to isolate you there so that it doesn't' spread out into any other realms." He then pulls out two brochures from his desk. "These will serve as simple maps. Admittingly, they were designed for children, but they should work the same."

Hearing the mention of the lack of death slightly relieved her, until the wizard mentioned corruption. Her face turned into a uncomfortable expression as she stared down at the map in the wizards hands. Elane took the map and started to study every part of it trying to get her mind off the possible bad scenario that could entail for her.

Safana would join her in looking over the map. It may be simple but knowing where you were going or at least having a general idea of it would be helpful, vital really. Especially if they were going to be dealing with corrupted things. She didn't have any first hand experience with anything like this but she'd generally found that if you couldn't fight run and if you couldn't run hide. At the very least she was pretty sure she could run faster than her scholarly ally.

A grim thought and not one she'd turn to as a first resort but if this was as bad as the mage implied it might be for the best if one of them was willing to at least momentarily abandon the other so that they could be better prepared. She planned on mentioning as much to Elane after the briefing here finished.

After she finished reading and studying the map, Elane looked up towards Viraxis. “Well I think that is all. When do we start?”
