I saw there is new content that appears if someone did the Convocation of Mirrors event. At the moment one can only do it by defeating the guard.

Just to ask, will there be any benefits/content if one delays doing the event until they gain a way to get past the guard without combat?

The only benefit to doing it that way is not having to fight.

I believe they are asking about the order of actions.
Do you get a visit from a special someone if you finish the temple before doing CoM and talking with them, or can you delay the conversation until after the temple is finished and still get the same event.

I tested this myself, and while you still get the visit, you lose out on the lore bits related to the talk with River. Since if you do the Temple first, and then CoM, the dream visit procs immediately after, giving you no time to do the CoM related talk with River.

So TL;DR, you still get the visit, but without the added information related to River's chat.
