Red-Eye wipes his mouth after spitting the contents of his stomach.
"Reliquaries are like boxes of souls" Red-Eye burps then shudders, he starts sitting down as Karlya sits beside him rubbing his back as he felt really sick.
"What does that have to do with it being here?" Karlya asked.
"Kane wants it, badly" Tar'lak answered for him, "He's made a deal with these two to transport it to New Canaan. I don't know the details"
"Red?" Jibril coerced him to continue.
"Right, sorry, my body is constantly draining for some reason" Red-Eye complained, "Mana sickness shouldn't happen to me this quickly. Fuck this is getting worse. Reliquary you had was the kind of orb with some very strong magic binding it together. Half the shit i did to it wouldn't break some of the seals inside of it to figure out what it had. So i thought, why not give it some juice? If we can't use it one way why not use it another, right? So i thought filling it up with my magic could help me function better and i wouldn't feel like shit so much, these things are built to hold so much magic that they could power a city full of magic for centuries! If push came to shove, I'm pretty sure we could take on the whole fucking empire with the amount of magic we could have stored away. But then i thought, where the hell did you get such a thing and when the orb started talking to me, I left it inside the bag and hide it inside my portal. I freaked out and tried not going back inside until i could figure out how to break the fucking thing!"

Back in Dunwich, Kane saved Jibril and Shimbala from the possessed orb by forcing it to release them using some spell of his. When she grabbed it, the power it once had was completely drain of its Mana to where it was safe to transport. If that thing is becoming stronger and stronger the more Mana it absorbed from Red-Eye's curiosity ... it's stronger than before!

Could the Orb be the reason for all of this? Maru tried to absorb Jibril's soul, she heard it, if it weren't for Kane's interference then Maru would have possessed her as well. One pissed off Infernal Devil with a grudge against Kane for stealing something so valuable as a Reliquary from a cult, Maru may had a way to manipulate Jibril into turning her against him ... it's working so far.

"We have to get the orb" Tar'lak tells them, everyone is worried about messing with a powerful object of power such as a reliquary.
"The hell we do!" Karlya tells him, "If that fucking thing is the reason for it, I say we break the damn thing and get the hell out of here!"
"We can't Jibril is bound to it" Kor'da answered, "I can't allow you to destroy it"
"Why the hell not?" Karlya directed her attention to him.
"Because if you do, I can't stop myself from hurting you" Kor'da answered, "I made a promise to Kane to keep Jibril protected at all costs, if either of us tries to break the orb me and Jibril will die"
"Fucking damn, man" Red-Eye shakes his head, covering his face, guilt ridden.

Red-Eye looks up to Jibril: "I fucked up, Jib. I'm so sorry"

Just as Jibril has her heart set on leaving the caravan, the skies above her begin to darken. Clouds above darken and filling up with a heavy rain ready to pour upon them, there's a heavy thundering echoing in the distance as the whole region felt the rumbling of the ground beneath them shake. Jibril and company are alarmed by the steady quickness the weather changed on them the instant she made the decision to turn on Kane. This weather change has even got Draco and the other Canaanites riled up over it, calling all of the refugees to pack up their camps quickly and the fires put out. Everyone is scrambling to get inside the wagons and covering themselves up in warm blankets as the rain starts to come down hard.

Jibril sensed something was coming, Tar'lak and Kor'da felt it too.

"We need to go ... now" Kor'da told Jibril.
"Where the hell are we going then?" Karlya stated over the hail of heavy rain.
"We can't stay here!" Jibril shouts back at him, "We need to get away from the group"
"I say we make our way to the Shurifon capital!" Jimmy told them, he point off to the distance towards the large walls. "We're a few miles from it but we can make it there"
"One capital city or the other" Tar'lak groans, "We're going to trek in this mess"

Red-Eye is shaken as the rain pools around him, Karlya rubbed his arms as he looks weaker than before her collapsed.

"Randy, ya need to get up" Karyla helps him up.
"Fuck" Red-Eye shakes, "I'm too fucked up. I fucked up, man"
"You didn't know" Tar'lak assured Red-Eye, "Fuck the Canaanites, i say we steal one of their wagons and steer it toward the capital and sell off everything we find in the cargo. At least we'll have coin to spare and lay low until we make our move"
"Good idea" Karlya said, helping Red-Eye and moving him back towards the wagons.

Everyone followed Red-Eye back to the wagon Jibril had found him in. Kor'da moves up beside Jibril and shakes his head.

"We're really going to do this?" He asked, "Running away could bring down a powerful enemy upon us, we'd be taking a risk betraying Kane when we don't even know if he's behind this"
"I don't care" Jibril says, determination behind her eyes. "I'm not letting Maru or Kane get to us without a fight, if we gotta kill some people to get free of their power, so be it"
"I hope you're right" Kor'da says, walking away from her. "For both our sakes."

Everyone piles up in the back of the Volgan Freight wagon, Karlya and Karin keep Red-Eye warm as the refugees gathered around each other for comfort, Tar'lak jumps in to guard the back with Jimmy, Tar'lak hands Jimmy a sword he took from one of the crates he broke open and they steel themselves for the hijacking. Kak'lin and Sim'one hugged their father as they stay next to Red-Eye, Karin and Karlya in the far back. Jibril scopes out the wagons and goes to the back of the ammo wagon, nobody suspects any foul play as she goes through the crates to pull out one of the three rifles inside: a Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun, an M16 and a M1 Garand. If Jibril does this quickly she can get a arm full of ammo to stuff into her satchel and make off with a single weapon. But if she gets too greedy and takes them all,she will draw too much attention to herself and the Canaanites will swarm her. Stealing from them appears to carry a death penalty if Shimbala and Draco catch wind of their plan.

Jibril looked around, the patrols are gathering up and coming her way. Once they passed by, Jibril grabbed the M1 Garand and quickly stuffed her satchel pack quickly using sleight of hand tricks to stuff it full then she sling the strap over her shoulder and starts her way towards the back of the caravan and takes the passenger seat with the driver. Once the caravan was ready to move, Draco walks up and down the road checking with everyone to keep everyone in line and making sure everyone was accounted for. He stops when he sees Jibril sitting in the passenger seat with the driver.

Draco: "Jibril! What are you doing in the front? Shouldn't you be in the back?"
Jibril: "Someone need to watch the driver in case we run into anymore Undead!"
Draco: "Are you sure you can handle that? You seem off of sorts. I can get Kalisa to cover the driver, you should settle in with Kor'da and your sons. I wouldn't feel right if something happened to you!"
Jibril: "I'm fine! Really!"
Draco has his doubts but shrugs: "Okay, just be careful with the cargo and take this"

Draco removes his signal flare gun and hands it to Jibril.

Draco: "When you see something, this thing will fire a red flare in the sky! It's really loud so we can hear it!"
Jibril: "Got it!"
Draco: "Okay, stay close and keep an eye out!"

Draco shook off the rain on his head and moves towards the back and checks on the group before returning to the front. Jibril see's Draco looking over his shoulder with a stare that tells her that he knows something is off here. He doesn't say or do anything as the caravan begins to move in this rain and fog.

An hour into the ride, the group is nearing the halfway point where Shurifon is just a mile away from the fork in the road. The caravan stops as Draco calls the Jaegers and Juggernauts over to release some of the refugees getting off here. They start handing out Pewter coins and a wrapped up cloth of bread and slices of meat for them to take. Everyone started heading toward Halifax to the East and the others head towards the village of Unowa to the northeast ahead of the caravan nearest to New Canaan, others turned towards the west going towards Shurifon's capital city hoping to make a new life there given their circumstances.

It seems Jibril's dream wasn't exaggerating the emphasis on the Canaanites letting the refugees go their separate ways. Can New Canaan really be closing their borders? If Maru is behind this, this is going to be a nasty surprise that they do not need. Jibril sees the opportunity while the guards and soldiers are distracted by the refugees. She leans over and slits the throat of the driver, he latched onto his throat trying to stop the bleeding, Jibril kicks the man out of the seat andshe slide on in his place to take the reigns!

Mushing the Oxeners to power through the caravan blocking their way, they wagon turns as they slowly veer off the road and wagon they brushed up against scares the refugees inside to move with it and causing it to heave on over to the side. As Jibril's wagon breaks through the side of the road, they slide down onto the forked road and they gain footing enough to pull the wagon up and over. Draco and Shimbala witnessed the second to last wagon tilt and collapse on the side and barreling over with the refugees pouring out and getting killed by the cargo they were next to, crushed. When Draco and the others see Jibril driving the wagon, he became furious.

Draco: "After her!!"
Shimbala gets on her Seer Stone: "All units! The Nagini is steal the freighter! Shoot her on sight, do not hit the barrels!"

The Juggernauts and Jaegers sprint and give chase after the wagon on the road as Jibril drives the wagon, mustering all the strength the Oxeners have within them to go faster and faster! The soldiers are powerful and full of energy as they sling their rifles and make a mad dash for the back of the flatbed. Tar'lak used his spear and Jimmy readied his sword as the Canaanites make for a boarding. Cutting and stabbing their way, the two fend off the soldiers, some falling to the ground as the Oxeners picked up enough speed to put a little bit of distance between them. The soldiers raised their rifles up and start shooting at the two thieves and trying to check their fire as the rain slowly lowered their accuracy significantly and deflected some of the rounds from hitting their marks. Jimmy takes three rounds to the leg and shoulder while Tar'lak gets gut shot, a side shot and a kneecap falling to the flatbed with refugees cowering in fear of what's going on and what's going to happen to them.

Jibril grits her teeth as she see the front towering gates of Shurifon. She's delighted to see freedom just within distance and she checks to see if the soldiers were pursuing them further ... they were! What the hell are these guys made of?!

Jibril whips the reigns harder as the soldiers keep firing their rifle wildly until they ran out of ammo and don't bother reloading. They keep up the running as the wagon come towards the front gate where a group of ten Shurifon Guardsmen guard it. They see Jibril rushing their gate and the postmen signaled the gatekeeper to drop the gates, the guards took their spears and plant them into the ground and holding steadfast as the Oxeners come rushing in. The wagon bursts through the gates just in the nick of time! The gate collapses behind the wagon and the guards fell to the side before getting stampeded by the Oxeners. Jibril stabilizes the Oxeners and steers them through the streets of Shurifon Proper and putting some distance between them and the gate. She sees a warehouse with the doors opens and she backs the wagon open slowly and looks around to see who might be watching them. She steer the wagon into the warehouse and the other refugees go up to the door and closed it behind them.

Jibril climbs out of the driver seat and goes to check up on the rest of the group in the back. It was bad ... really bad.

There were over twenty refugees inside the back of this wagon, there were only five of them that survived. Tar'lak and Jimmy were shot and the five refugees that survived fled the group to disappear into the city before more trouble comes and finds them. Kor'da and Karlya shielded their kids from the gunshots, thank the gods Kor'da's metallic scale took all of the blunt force and deflected them, unfortunately, they hit the other refugees when the bullet were flying at them.

"Jibril! The man can barely keep himself from vomiting everywhere!" Karlya yells at her.
"Spirits" Kor'da says looking at all the dead bodies and the smell of gunfire.

Kor'da and Karlya help their kids out of the flatbed and onto the ground, blood sticking to their clothes and soaking wet from the rain. The two parents shielded their kids and their eyes from seeing the gore of the corpses, as they help each other get them out. Tar'lak and Jimmy stumbled on the edge of the flat bed and they were helped out and setting them on the concrete floor of the warehouse they find themselves in. Tar'lak is looking really bad, his wounds are lethal and Jimmy looks like he's going to need his legs amputated and arm stitched up. Karlya and Karin try to help Tar'lak as he's the closest to death right now, soaking up the blood with her skirt torn to make a wrapping. Karin tourniquet Jimmy's legs just above the knees and the two shriek out in pain. Kor'da drags Red-Eye out of the flat bed as he shivers like he's about to let the wind knock him out on his ass. Jibril just stood there taking all of this in.

What has she done. She can't handle the sight of the others looking like this, so she goes to search the warehouse.

The warehouse is a building with a single room in the back with two sets of stairs on end to end going up a level, the support beams keep the roof above them intact while the rows and columns of this place are packed to the brim with only the wagon having the open opened space for them to slide on in without trouble if barely. Upon inspecting the contents of the warehouse, Jibril finds that this is in fact a fabric warehouse with some many clothes and sheets packed into these crate that they could fetch a pretty coin if sold to a fence. Most of these crates would also make for useful disguises to blend into Shurifon if only to make them stand out less.

Fifteen minutes passed, Jibril is back and she checks up on the others.

There's a large white blanket over a body that sticks out. Karlya looks up at Jibril: "Jimmy's dead"
Karlya looks over to Tar'lak who is breathing heavily: "And he has a fever that isn't going away."
Karlya shoots a scolding glare at Jibril: "Red-Eye is hallucinating and can't help us. He tried using his healing, Tar'lak scales stopped some of the bullets from hitting his heart but the magic won't close up his stomach and side. Red is too weak to help us. I did all i could for them."

Karlya stifles a tear and inhales unsteadily. Karin rubs her mom's shoulders, Karlya shakes her head. Kor'da is still piling up the dead bodies and moving the crates searching for cures and potions. Kor'da returns with a few potions that Jibril recognized as Judora's potions from the Apothecary. Kor'da hstuffs the Blue potion into Red-Eye and the Red potion into Tar'lak. Both of them saw their wound heal up quickly and Red-Eye is feeling better but still muttering and rocking in the corner of the wagon in a fetal position.

"We better lay low" Kor'da says.
"Whatever" Karlya says, the wind knocked right out of her.

Something happens.

Red-Eye comes stumbling back, everyone's eyes look back to him and he stands there with the orb in his hands. Both hands are placed firmly on the orb itself and his eyes glowed with the brilliance of the Orb mimicking his glow. Red-Eye is now possessed by the spirit within the orb itself.

"You've done well, mortal" Red-Eye says in a deep hollow tone, "Very well done indeed"
"Red?" Karlya turns with tears in her eyes.

Everyone backs away from the wagon and Kor'da stands in front of the kids with his claws unsheathing as he snarls at Red-Eye who turns to look at him.

"Be still, minion of Umbra" Red-Eye says with disgust, he turns to Jibril with a more sinister grin drawn across his face. Uncannily so, that his smile starts to resemble the brutes that Draco has fought and burned alive. This is starting to go from bad to worse as Red-Eye holds the orb longer than necessary, "You have cost me quite a bit of trouble for a mortal. You and your friends should have destroyed me when you had the chance!"

"Curious thing for you to ask" Red-Eye, or rather Maru.
Red-Eye hovers off the wagon and is set down on both feet planting firmly on the ground.
"Have you not been paying any attention?" Maru answered through Red-Eye, "I am Maruda, the Queen of the Damned, Mistress of the Undead, the only Infernal to have a gateway into the Material Plane. You have been a thorn in my side since Dunwich, you and that wretched thing beside you!"

Jibril keeps her hand on her sword and slowly draws it out. This gesture made Maru giggle: "Go ahead, steel yourselves against you friend!"

"But now that you have broken your promise to Umbra, where does that lead you?" They said as Red-Eye cricles around them with each step vibrating with an ominous air of Mana erupting around them. "Umbra, that putrid and vile creature has no business in our worlds. Why, if we had more time, we could have been allies. The glorious deaths we could have made, this world would have been more beautifully dead and rotting in decay. Nothing would please me more than to watch you mortals succumb to the poison this world seeps into the air! The rich essence you give me sustains my brethren and thus stayed my hand for too long. So many souls, so much suffering, the blood curdling cries of the weak consumed by the strong. Just as it is that your human friend has become one with the Ether and now resides with me!"

Red-Eye raised his hand to Jimmy and they watched as the body contorts and breaks as the corpse reanimates to life and the blanket rose sharply like a sped up video. Jimmy now stood as his eyes are a bright glowing yellow with blood dribbling out of his mouth. But he doesn't move. Kor'da whips around and rips Jimmy's head clean off and throws the severed head across the warehouse and kicks the corpse away from them. Maru chuckled as she summons the pile of corpses to raise up for them. They continue to talk to Jibril while Karlya, Kor'da and the kids try to fend off the Undead refugees coming for them.

"Where were we? "Maru says tapping the side of their head, "You ... By defying Umbra, you present me with some ideas of what to do with you. I can release you of your vow if you devote yourself to me in mind, body and ... soul" Maru says with amusement, "As for your beloved ... I have no further use for him or his spawn. Weaklings deserve a slow death. Join me and together we can turn this world into what it really is!

Jibril draws her sword forward and just as the blade aims for the orb: she stops touching the surface of it.
Red-Eye tilted his head to her and they lowered themselves with her blade caressing Red-Eye's forehead letting her blade cut enough to draw blood. Maru is mockingly grinning and moaning at the tension. Jibril is froze in place as the aura around them is preventing her and her friends and family from moving. The Undead swarm upon them and seized them all and physically acting as undead servants then ravaging them as mindless drones eager to feed. While Jibril is gritting her teeth trying to muster all of her supernatural strength to power through. Maru mocked her further.

"You're pathetic, Jibril of Medressa" Maru says in a seething tone, "No one will ever claim my vessel! Not you and certainly not that Sher'sla-ta!!"

Then Maru notice that there was a glowing emitting from Jibril's small pouch. Red-Eye reaches out to lift the pouch open and they find the Marker in her possession. Quizzically, Maru remarked the curious design of the talisman and raised it before Jibril's face.

"What is this?!" Maru shouts.

There was a pulsating viberation in the air once again but this time was different. This time it startled Maru to drop the Marker, as it glowed a vivid red, the sudden burst of pulsation that occurred made Maru tremble through Red-Eye's hand that the Marker fell from. Maru moved away from Jibril's blade and starts looking around as if trying to find out where this unknown thing was coming from that's bothering them. Jibril and company felt the pulsating vibration again, it felt like a heart beat. Jibril is familiar with this sensation.

"He's coming for you" Jibril says plainly.
"How does he know?" Maru grabs Jibril by the throat, surprisingly weak for some Infernal.
"Why are you asking me?" Jibril says, Maru is furious.
"Because he's an Outer God that doesn't belong here!" Maru panics, "There has never been an Outer God. All of them have been vanquished. How is there one here?!"

Maru is panicking, it's very strange that this Infernal is breaking down so quickly when they were just facing a few mortals. Perhaps Kane is more of a threat to them then Jibril thought. The doors behind Jibril begin to creak and bend and fold as they break apart by a legion of hands clawing at the edges and ripping the double wide door off the hinges and the outside of the warehouse is exposed. Maru turns to face the entrance and they see that it is as black as the void. Jibril can't help but smile when she recognizes the pitch black darkness forming outside the entrance and the priceless look on Maru's face when the fear they loved turned sour in face of a superior monster.

Tentacles reached out and seized the Undead Refugees and then a legion of Darklings sweep through the room claiming the Undead with their constricting serpent bodies and squeezing them like sponges releasing the blood soaked meat bags of their tasty entrails. Their jagged and razor sharp teeth ripping and tearing at the flesh like hungry piranhas nimble on meaty bones. Out of the darkness came four legged masses of tentacle beasts with multiple bulbs that should pass for eyes peer through the thick bodies of metallic tentacles spawning from their bodies with powerful taut hindlegs and clawed front legs with rows of sharp teeth hidden beneath the moving tentacles covering their bodies. These Abyssal Beasts swarm the warehouse claiming more of the Undead and ripping them apart like wolves and latching onto the runners storming the entrance like facehuggers with their tentacle wrapping around the runners as the beasts rose on their hind legs to expose their bellies to them. The beasts constrict upon the Undead and the tentacles shredded them apart as they spin around the body faster and faster like a blender set on puree until there was a skeleton with little left on them.

Stepping out of the darkness with a single, deliberate foot: He came.

Kane stood in his reptilian form with his scarlet scales shining with the lightning of the outside brushing light against it, his death-like shaped face and pair of slit nostrils flared as he scolds heavily on Maru's mockery. Kane wasn't pleased to find himself here. He wasn't dressed in his tuxedo, nor blanketed in darkness of his shadows, he was dressed in a doubled lapel uniform found on generals with his however colored in a deep black with red trimming, a flowing trail of his jacket fluttering behind him as he strolled on through. His combat boots were stained in mud and his uniform is drenched in rain water and the anger on his face emits a heavy burning aura that Jibril can literally see raising to the ceiling of the warehouse with a red glow fitting his character.

This intimidating figure before her was no illusion or projection, this was the REAL Kane in the flesh!

Kane walks as if he has lost all the patience in the world. His steps now raidate a heavily pulse and the bear feet leave beind a bright red glow behind him as he walks closer to Jibril and Maru. Maru backs away from him and throws up a hand to cast a pulse of energy. As he approach, the wave of energy stops him for a brief moment, him struggling briefly before the wave's affect on him subsides and he powers through it. Demonic voices chant and more waves of energy surge towards Kane as he powers through each and every attempt at holding him at bay from them. Kane stood still as he inhales with his bones cracking. His neck creaks as his face turns to Jibril with a searing glare that looks as is he were drilling his eyes into her face: "I will deal with YOU later"

Kane directs his attention to Maru cowering before him as they roll up under the wagon to get away, Kane grabbed Red-Eye's legs and dragged him out from underneath the wagon and picks him up with ease. Grabbed by the throat, Red-Eye struggles as they hold onto the Orb. Kane helps by keeping a hand firmly on his hand pressing it against Red-Eye's chest.

"Hello, Maruda Nok Du'nordin" Kane says lowly.
"Umbra!" Red-Eyed shrieks.

"I had such plans for you. I took the liberty of clearing out the city anticipating your arrival, just for you. But it seems Sanguine and Mellow have made a mess of things in my absence." Kane says as two figures appear behind him in a puff of smoke, appearing behind him kneel before him. Jibril sees that they were not wearing their masks. When they rose their heads to Kane, she is alarmed that they both resembled Kane himself!

Mellow: revealed himself to be a quirky and Cheshire smiling human version of Kane dressed in formal dress clothes.
Sanguine: revealing himself to be a serious looking version of Kane bare naked and reptilian.

Both servants of Kane looked up to Kane as he strangles Maru but not enough to kill him. The two servants of Kane lowered their heads when Kane addressed them by name.

"You two have disappointed me greatly" Kane says unamused by this conversation, "I thought you could handle this assignment without issue. It seems my trust in you two have been misplaced."
Mellow says nervously: "Forgive me, Dominus, we may have been a bit ... overzealous in our approach!"
Sanguine says in a monotone voice: "We did not foresee this outcome occurring under our watchful gaze, your holiness"
"And yet i had to be called away to address this myself" Kane says, "Do you understand the task i had given either of you was to be DISCRETE and ACCORDINGLY?"

Kane reaches up to his eyebrow scales and laments at a thought he had: "I swear, I'm working with the worse help in the universe. Make yourselves useful and get these people fixed up while i deal with this one!"

Kane orders, Mellow and Sanguine go to each of the people in the groups and heal their wound by slathering up their arms, legs, chests and lower halves with a viscous red fluid they conjured up from their hands and allow the thick paste harden and everyone was completely healed. Even Tar'lak who was on death's door was able to move and walk about with ease. Everyone gathered around Jibril as she unfreezes from her stiff pose when Sanguine touched her shoulder and dispelled the magic holding her in place.

"Now then" Kane continued, "Seeing as how we have to do things the hard way, i'll come out and ask: How do i perform necromancy and where is the Jewel of Bahemeth?"
"This is what this is about?" Maru strained, Kane squeezed harder.
"Yes, you blind and ignorant fool" Kane states coldly, "Resurrection, the creation of undead, anything that i need to know: you have. I know you have the secrets to making and using black magic to turn undead into your thralls. I want to know how you do it"
"Go ahead and kill me, you'd be doing me a favor, Outsider"

Kane lost his patience, he rams his hand into Red-Eye but it doesn't appear that it was impalement. When Kane peels his hand through Red-Eye, Kane had his grip on something else: a throat belonging to a woman. Kane pulls deeper and deeper removing the possessed Red-Eye free of the Infernal within him. The female woman is a slender thing in pale greying skin and raven black hair covered in tattered purple sashes and golden jewels dangling around her body and the yellow eyes of her face glowed as she retains a almost human form save for the pointy elven ears and the bovine legs heavy with muscle and lacking any decency of her feminine nethers. Kane watched Red-Eye fall to the ground as the orb he held rolling off to the side devoid of all of its magical power and dulls to a simple object.

Maruda matched Kane's height but not his strength as she stood there gasping and wide-eyed before him as she is now mortal in the Material Plane. She very scared as she claws her long blackened nails against his shoulders and they slide right off his red scales.

"You call yourself a God" Kane scoffed, "You got your wish, Infernal, you're now part of the mortal plane."

Kane ran his clawed hand into her belly and twists around her guts spurring her winces and convulse.

"We told you, Maru" Kane groans, "They are not your playthings. They belong to me, you had your chance a thousand years ago to do whatever you please. Now you will be a good pet and tell me what i want to know before i feed you to the Void with the rest of your retched children eager to claim your corpse"

Kane turns his head slightly as Jibril raised her voice to get his attention.
"Mind telling the mortal, or should i?" Kane asked Maruda.
"Ghak!" Maruda gags.
"Guess I will" Kane says.

The drags Maruda's limp body around and plants her firmly onto the ground and orders Mellow and Sanguine to hold her in place. The two quickly cast chain spells to bind the bleeding out goddess in mortal form and pinned her arms and legs down to prevent her from struggling too much. Kane wipes his hands on Sanguine's dress clothes to get rid of the maggots and sickly green bile coating his fingers. Kane touches his face and approaches Jibril with him still emitting his fiery hatred aura.

"Maruda has been on my radar for quite some time" Kane explains, "She is a true Infernal and what she said is true, she HAD a gateway between the Nine Hells of one reality to link to our Material Plane of existence." He taps the ground with his clawed feet, making his point. "So she thought by harvesting the souls of the living and collecting them inside reliquaries that she, herself, could come into our reality whenever the mood strikes her. Unfortunately, her brethren, the Archdevils and Grand Marshalls of Hell didn't like the idea of her having the only gateway into our world. So they devised a plan to get rid of her gateways leaving a very few of them in existence. Maruda's Cult is widely known for their ritual sacrifices which gained my attention. Another yet unfortunate outcome if you ask her. Servants and Thralls of the underworld collectively gathered and weakened Maruda for centuries until her cult was nearly wiped out until Shurifon came into the picture and they went into hiding. You, Jibril, and Karlya and Kor'da ... you three managed to find two reliquaries that really piqued my interest."

Kane directs his attention to Sanguine and Mellow holding the writhing Maruda on the ground.

"Unfortunately, these two idiots decided it was time to take it upon themselves to do what needed to be done" Kane continued, "I said to Mellow, he passed it onto you that I was preoccupied with things in New Canaan to be of any use. As you have figured out by now, we had a coup. I have been fixing the problem rooting out the sympathizers and executing them and burying our dead. Something Maruda would have loved to get her hands on if we didn't burn all of our dead because of her in the first place. Naturally, she was beyond my reach; she was beyond mine. I told these two that i did not want to be disturbed in the middle of a funeral!!"

Kane's fiery temper burns when his hair rose up sharply and a burst or electricity ripples through the quills. But he calms down.

"No one respects the dead anymore. So i had to improvise, cut my speech short and walked all the way here in the middle of the fucking rain to this catastrophe!" Kane says, "Meanwhile, people at home are wondering where their beloved leader is and why no one has heard from our military personnel. Well lo and behold you people show up. You steal my weapons, you stole my property, you killed innocent people-"

"Those people died because of your soldiers!" Jibril interupted. Kane looked at her sharply, eye narrowing, taking a deep breath and doing a ten count backwards.
"My people will be dealt with severely for their actions, i don't let this sort of thing slide very easily. Rest assured they will be punished for it. But as for you"

Kane points to all of them then drops his hands into his pockets and calms his demeanor a bit so his aura is choking onto them like bricks.

"I had a single purpose for you, only one: bring me Maruda's orb to New Canaan and I'll let you stay as an honored guest of mine as a personal thank you for doing such a service for me and my fellow Canaanites." Kane says touching his breast, "There was no malice intended for you, no need to stir up more trouble than it needed to be. But as you can see by my split personalities before you, I don't ever have good people doing the work for me. I apologize if i have a bit of a temper but you got to understand a man of my position can't be running around every day making things and keeping people happy. These two were suppose to be your guides and helping you along your way, gathering both your essences and getting you into further danger was AGAINST the plan in the first place. They require feeding constantly or they lose their damn minds and bother me to do the work in feeding them, pets really, and much like the beasts before you and the Darklings, they come from the Void ... my domain. And when they get hungry and ornery i can't concentrate on my work so i put them to work in making Markers and handing them out to people to act as their personal feeders and fulfilling contracts. This was just one of the many failures by my own design that i should have really paid more attention to."

Kane looks to Kor'da snaps his fingers and returned him his soul and lizardman form, he snaps again at Jibril returning her to the cream and sandy color pit viper she once was then snaps his fingers at the rest of his minions and servants to disappear from the room taking the corpses with them into the pitch black darkness from once they came leaving only Maruda and the two stooges left.

"I can't speak for everyone involved but i hope this doesn't sour the first impression" Kane says, "If you would allow me to transport you all to New Canaan, I can provide you room and board as a gesture of my apology."

"What do you mean, time skip?" Kane asked, perplexed, he hears Maruda chuckling under her breath.
"Serves you right" Maruda coughs.
"Another of your tricks, Maruda?" Kane asked walking over to her.
"You did this?!" Jibril grits her teeth in anger.
"You killed my sons you wretched thing" Maruda laughed, "To see your friends suffer brought out the best in me. To watch you toiling around in your minds, turning you against one another. If this moron didn't keep feeding me with his Mana and Essence, I wouldn't have had the strength to turn you against your friends and allies."
"Yeah, but you didn't think about me breaking your grasp over her, did you" Kane said, he stomps his foot on her torn open belly.

Kane turns his head to Jibril: "It appears her powers of manipulation over mortals caused you to lose some semblance of time. While you sleep, your soul and mana are vulnerable to Gods, Devils and other ethreal beings such as demons and spirits. You happen to be in the presence of one of those things when Marlo was feeding her magic to the relic while you slept. If memory serves, you were there when Shimbala was present, yes? Draco as well to reclaim the relic from the alter. Maruda doesn't have to rely on her illusions when she can just use your memories from others. Theoretically, Draco, Shimbala, everyone around you are close to the orb as well and so by being close to such a powerful object of unholy magic such this could cause your memories to merge consciousness with them and form one big dream that all of you shared. Magic in this reality is such a mystery to me, where i come from we don't have such a thing ... at least, nothing like this any way."

Kane looks over to Jibril still fuming mad while he mused over the details explaining to her the reason for her hellish nightmare.

"I would venture the guess and say it would either be Mellow or Sanguine" Kane asked to either of his servants, "Which of you two were given responsibility over her Marker?"
"Myself" Sanguine answered.
"Right" Kane turns back, "While in possession of my Marker, you continued to dream your nightmare as if it were real. When i felt Maruda pulling you away from your body and everyone else's for that matter in a vain attempt to harvest your souls while you all slept. You, Jibril, and Tar'lak were the poison in the bitch's drinking wine. While she was consuming your essence and sapping Marlo's body of all of his excessive Mana to build up her strength - i had to intervene. Thus you awake, you lose your grasp on reality and convince yourselves that this was all some sort of plan of mine when really your true foe was hiding right under your very noses."

Kane looks down to Maruda.

"She would have gotten away with it too if i hadn't come just in time to stop her from doing further damage to the rest of you. The rest were illusions of hers to manipulate you into thinking I had any interference with you and your family, constructing a nightmare using the dreams of others is the perfect recipe for disaster."

Kor'da rushed over to Jibril and embracing her as she grieved for her failures and the death of her friend Jimmy. Kak'lin and Sim'one rushed over to their mom as she weeping and furiously balling her eyes out. Karlya and Karin join them in their grieving as they all have suffered from the terrible ordeal.

Kane stood there watching over them then turns his attention back to Maruda.
"This was your fault, you know" Maruda replied, eyes rolling to the top of her head in their sockets.
"If only you had stayed away and let the little mortals go on their merry way" Maruda spits the blood in her mouth at Kane's feet, "You got greedy, Kane! You just had to have me all to yourself"

Maruda arches her back and stretching herself and showing off her heaving breasts and cold unblemished skin. Trying her best to seduce the intimidating entity that is Kane. Kane crouches down to Maruda and talks loud enough for the other to hear her.

"You know what's special about me, Maruda" Kane states, "I may not be the Goddess of the Undead, but i am the Dark God of Fertility and Vengeance"

Kane grabs her by the hair and pulls hard on it. He pulls her head up and up to his mouth: "You can only make dead things come to life, I can make living things into whatever i want." He plants his hand on Maruda's head and the wound of her belly regenerates like new before her very eyes. "If i deem it so, I can keep you alive forever and you can just be raped, disembowel, eaten alive, dismembered over ... and over ... and over again each and every time until i get bored."

Kane gestured his head to Mellow and Sanguine as they claw at Maruda's body and digging deep in to her skin and making her bleed while Kane uses his power to regenerate her wounds and they keep going at it. Further her suffering.

"I have a lot of pent up anger and i'm pretty sure they do too" Kane says removing his coat to reveal his red scales and bare body. "Give me what i want to know or i will make this more personal than what it already is"

Kane raised his fist up, cocking it back ready to strike Maruda. She raised a hand while the two minions rip into her.

"Wait" She screams, "Behameth! Gordo Desert! Great Library of Shi! I'll tell, i swear it!!"
Kane halted Maruda's torture.
"Explain, now"
"Great Library of Shi, in the Gordo Desert the jewel holds the power of resurrection!" She answered, "True resurrection, not turning undead!"
"You wouldn't be lying to me, are you?" Kane asked, Kane looked to Jibril.

What does Jibril want to do here?

"I'm sorry, for whatever that is worth to you" Kane says in a sadden way.

Kane turns his attention Maruda. "Keep Talking"

"Take my vessel" Maruda points to Red-Eye, who is starting to awaken from his trance.
"Ugh, my head" Red-Eye groaned.
"The Orb will contain what is left of my power" Maruda pleaded, "It holds the secrets to necromacy. Take it and let me be"
"Randy, hand me the orb" Kane ordered sharply.
"Kane?" Red-Eye says, he sees the orb in front of him.

He crawls over and rolls the orb towards Kane. Kane picks up the orb and looks to Maruda.

"How"
"Just let me do it" Maruda says reaching for her orb.
"And let you escape back into Hell where you belong?" Kane says, holding the orb away from her grasp.
"You have me in the flesh, Outsider" Maruda shrieks in pain, "What use am i without it?!"
"Then you don't mind subjecting yourself to a blood oath" Kane suggests.
Maruda's eye widened to dinner plates.
"Is that a yes or a no?" Kane asked.
"Release me" She says calmly.
"Do we have a deal or not?" Kane tells her.
"I pledge you my fealty and power to you, i swear upon my mantle what i claim is true!" She says, Kane grabbed her hand and formed the Pact.

Kane hands her the orb and he stood up to watch her do her thing. Maruda chants into the orb and it glowed a sickly green and yellow glow and the orb itself darkened into a black sphere of jet and she claws at it to peel off the skin of the orb then balls it up and presents it to Kane. Kane reaches out and takes the balled up matter and he watched as it consumes his arm and let's the power surge through his body and covering his scales with a darker shade of red tinted with green. Maruda drops the orb and it shatters into pieces. "It is done" she groans, her body going limp. Kane turns toward the body of Jimmy and stretched out his hand towards it.

Jimmy's beheaded corpse begins to move and twitch as Kane struggles to even get the motor functions of the body to move. Maruda watched as the two minions unravel her bindings and she rolls on to her knee and bowed before Kane. Kane watched her in the corner of his eyes as he manipulates Jimmy's body to the point where it is able to climb to its feet. Kane sensed something was there as white essence peaked from the stump of where Jimmy's head once used to be. Kane lets out: "Huh" as he walked over to Jimmy's body and decides to inspect it. Upon inspection, Kane ran his fingers around Jimmy's stump neck and reaches inside of it to move the sliver of life essence still left inside of it. Kane opened his mouth and breathes onto it to add more essence to it then forces the soul back into the body's chest. Holding his hand against the corpse, Kane recreated Jimmy's head and he reanimates it fully.

Kane steps back as he appraised his work. Crossing his fingers at the rejuvenated Jimmy, he watched as the soul he recovered burn and started making movements. Jimmy's head now formed, Kane hears a deep gasping as Jimmy takes his first breath. Jimmy looked around with his human eyes now scarlet red.

"What the fuck happened?" Jimmy shouted.

Jimmy grabbed his neck as if he had choked on a brick. He sees Kane: "Who the hell are you!?" Kane shrugs: "Kane, welcome back to the land of the living. You were dead for a while. You can thank her for the beheading"

Jimmy looks around and sees the blood everywhere and Maruda standing on her bovine legs towering most of the people in there. He looks to Kane's Scalie body and fancy jacket: "Dead?" He walked over to Jibril and sees her on the ground, obviously distraught by her actions that lead them to be there.

"Everything i told you wasn't real, the dream i had was a trick made by her" Jibril says under her unsteady breathing. Jimmy sees Tar'lak is up and about lingering over them as he too was close to dying. He looks back to Kane.

"So all this time, we just ..." He runs his fingers through his black hair. "What the hell! All those refugees are just dead ...'

Jimmy crouched down and layering his arms over his knees contemplating what's happening to them. Kane walks over to him: "You couldn't have know this would have happened. All of you did what you had to to survive. I would do the same in your positions, don't let this be a lingering mistake and learn from it. You did what you could for them, they got in the way, things happen beyond our control."

Kane walks over to Jibril.

"You folks need time, and rest to process this disaster. Proper time to think about this, but not here."

Kane snaps his fingers and a large portal opens up at the entrance taking up the door frame of the mirror image. Inside this mirror image is a gateway to a city streets with people roaming about inside a district.

"Go through to Scarlet Rose and head for the Green Dragon and tell Marilyn the innkeeper that I sent you. If she asks for a password tell her 'Rose Petals' and you'll be given rooms." Kane looks to Maruda and the Volgan Freight, "I have a lot of work here to do."

"Jibril enter the portal with her friends and love but with a dishearten motion knowing what she did couldn't be taken back once she on the other side she we tell the other's not to hang around with and associate with her fearing that she will get them hurt or killed
