Red-Eye wipes his mouth after spitting the contents of his stomach.
"Reliquaries are like boxes of souls" Red-Eye burps then shudders, he starts sitting down as Karlya sits beside him rubbing his back as he felt really sick.
"What does that have to do with it being here?" Karlya asked.
"Kane wants it, badly" Tar'lak answered for him, "He's made a deal with these two to transport it to New Canaan. I don't know the details"
"Red?" Jibril coerced him to continue.
"Right, sorry, my body is constantly draining for some reason" Red-Eye complained, "Mana sickness shouldn't happen to me this quickly. Fuck this is getting worse. Reliquary you had was the kind of orb with some very strong magic binding it together. Half the shit i did to it wouldn't break some of the seals inside of it to figure out what it had. So i thought, why not give it some juice? If we can't use it one way why not use it another, right? So i thought filling it up with my magic could help me function better and i wouldn't feel like shit so much, these things are built to hold so much magic that they could power a city full of magic for centuries! If push came to shove, I'm pretty sure we could take on the whole fucking empire with the amount of magic we could have stored away. But then i thought, where the hell did you get such a thing and when the orb started talking to me, I left it inside the bag and hide it inside my portal. I freaked out and tried not going back inside until i could figure out how to break the fucking thing!"
Back in Dunwich, Kane saved Jibril and Shimbala from the possessed orb by forcing it to release them using some spell of his. When she grabbed it, the power it once had was completely drain of its Mana to where it was safe to transport. If that thing is becoming stronger and stronger the more Mana it absorbed from Red-Eye's curiosity ... it's stronger than before!
Could the Orb be the reason for all of this? Maru tried to absorb Jibril's soul, she heard it, if it weren't for Kane's interference then Maru would have possessed her as well. One pissed off Infernal Devil with a grudge against Kane for stealing something so valuable as a Reliquary from a cult, Maru may had a way to manipulate Jibril into turning her against him ... it's working so far.
