Cannot be with Sam during delivery if Sam is crew

I have Sam as crew and pregnant, and she is about to pop. So, I have the ship parked at Tavros, and Steele is pretty much sitting on top of Sam, pampering her, waiting for delivery.
And this happens:

While you were gone, Sam gave birth. She left for the Tavros nursery on the pod with her pups. You can collect her there, if she still trusts you enough.

GONE? BITCH STEELE WAS RIGHT THERE!
So, is this a bug, or is there something else to do rather than just being in the crew quarters with Sam?

This is a save at less than 12 hours until Sam drops, onboard ship, with Sam on board, at Tavros. You can wait 12 hours. You can spend all the time massaging Sam. You always get the message.

Very helpful save, you even gave it a great name! Passed this along to DZ who I believe coded it. I can see the combination of flags in the save that prevents it from functioning correctly, but they should be the best to fix it.

Any chance you can tell me what flag(s) to clear to fix this?

Try setting flags["SAM_PREG_ANNOUNCE"] to 1 to fix the current preg, but make sure you save before playing around.

Going forward, I think flags["SAM_PREG_EMAIL1"] needs to be unset entirely.

Haven't had time to test this though.

I am guessing you freed her in the middle of the current pregnancy. I put in some safeguards for that but it didn't cover your case apparently. I will use your save to find the hole in the logic. Set ["SAM_PREG_ANNOUNCE"] to 3 and go to the nursery. That should trigger the birth scene if you arrive 24 hours or less before the birth. Waiting for time to expire without going to the nursery is why it is telling you she is mad. Normally you get an email telling you to go to the nursery.

Do you happen to know around how many days into the pregnancy it was or have a save from right before she was freed?

At this point (Day 5603), Sam was 9 days pregnant. Steele released her sometime in the next 12 days (my next save was at Day 5616, and she was on crew then.
