The universe is full of strange things that need to be kept under check, be they supernatural, paranormal, extraterrestrial, spiritual, or metaphysical. These things provide not only a threat to humans physically, however; they also have an impact on the mind as well. That is why, for hundreds of years, they have been kept in check.

The Society of the Black House, established in 1845, was founded on three principle: keep the truth secure, contain potential threats, and protect humanity. It was owned by no nation, provided by anonymous benefactors and run by the mysterious And immortal Mr. Kane. The members divided into three roles- the Guardians, who keep House secure, the Scholars, who study the strangeness of the world, and the Operators, who keep the Society and oddities hidden.

While they had always been allowed to take on the roles of Guardians and Scholars, only since 1983 have nonhumans been allowed to become Operators, as a glamour device was invented that allowed them to seemlessly blend in with humans. This allowance has proven highly successful, and so it has been allowed to continue.

You are a new member of the society. Hopefully, you can make that last.

Stats
-Health: Your general physical state. If it reaches 0, you fall unconscious and are unable to take any actions until you are healed.
-Sanity: Your general psychological state. If it reaches 0, you have mental breakdown, making you vulnerable to psychic attacks and abilities.
-Condition: This is where any status effects such as Poisoned, Stunned, Paralyzed, or Confused go. Obviously, they’re are more than that, but you get the gist of it.

Attributes
-Physique: Your ability to perform physical feats and actions such as climbing, jumping, and swimming.
-Perception: Your ability to use your senses, such as sight, sound, touch, and smell.
-Proficiency: Your accumulated skill and knowledge, such as expertise with using computers and knowledge of Druidic rituals.
-Psychology: How hardy your mind is and how resilient you are to the psychological toll your work has on you.
-Personality: Your ability to interact with other people and get in their good graces.

Sure! Although it can also be things like being able to bounce back from Sanity loss easier, not being as affected by certain things as much, or other things like that.

For example, Laidback might give you +1 Psychology but -1 Perception while in the field, since you aren’t taking things too seriously, while Lazy would give you -2 Physique but allow you to recover Sanity twice as quickly while resting, since you aren’t very active.
