We don't know for sure but many have said from around 18-22. I think that's sorta up to the player.... but they are definitely at least 18 to be sure.

Honestly it could be any age it does seem like old cousin does not learn about the probes till you do
They used to be 18-19 but were recently raised to 22-23. On one hand, this is good because now your hypercompetence is a little bit more feasible. On the other hand, now you're a trillionaire heir playboy/girl/herm virgin at the age of 23, which might actually be less realistic than any other given scenario. But there's no winning here.
