Fixed 0.9.145-BACKER-ANDROID#6555 Sylvanol markings interfere with Vanae markings appearing.

So I was trying to gene mod my character and was going for male Vanae with synth sap and even with all the other tfs you could get for vanae that didn't require vanae markings to already be there, I could not get it to work no matter how much I save scummed or the amount of synth sap I used.
I fixed it by using a terran treat to first eliminate my body markings then had no issues with the synth sap. Unfortunately I didn't think to do a bug report until AFTER I had already saved over my last file with that TF. I also discovered at this time I'd accidentally switched off autosave about 10 days previous before I started working on vanae.
I'm including two save files: the farther along one is all my tfs and my character after successfully removing my body markings but before I put on vanae markings. The second one is my most recent auto save, before I started doing anything whatsoever with synth sap but with my character still having his sylvanol body markings.

Hmm, good find.

I'm not sure this is a bug per se, looking at the code. The item will indeed only give you the markings if you have no markings, but there's no writing to support losing existing markings to get these.

As mentioned this is not a bug, but I've made adjustments for the next release to make accent markings apply a little more consistently. Instead of locking out an accent mark transformation, transformative items that apply markings will have a 1/2 chance to change the existing markings if the prerequisites are met. Details of the changes are as follows:
  • Sky Sap and Synthetic Sap: No markings, or No "Vanae Markings" at 1/2 Chance. Any previous markings will be cleared. There is also a separate accent color change, but that is exclusively tied to having "Vanae Markings" so it is left unchanged.
  • Foxfire and Frostfire: Accent color is not a Foxfire/Frostfire color, and Has "Vanae Markings" or Has other markings at 1/2 chance. Note that this is only for accent color change.
  • Shark Bites: No markings, or No "Shark Markings" at 1/2 Chance. Any previous markings will be cleared.
  • Siren’s Bounty: When skin changes colors and adopts accent markings, any previous markings will be cleared.
  • Sylvanol: No markings, or 1/2 chance if: No "Body Markings", Has "Body Markings" but not in the default pattern (0), or Accent color does not match the Sylvanol color scheme. Any previous markings will be cleared.
  • No changes made to Cackler, Snake Shake with Bobas, Pickmentation, Scales of Color or the dream that provides the "Primorditatts" perk since they all work as intended. However, since all grant a form of accent markings, they are all susceptible to be being overwritten by another accent marking transformation. And of course, if you ever want to remove the markings, you can use Terran Treat (or Pickmentation and Scales of Color).

Hopefully this helps with mitigating expectations.
