Did you like the idea of Breeding Season? Well good, because Cloud Meadow is S-Purple's new project. I saw that someone couldn't find it, and that's it's name. Stay Cheeki Breeki!

I dunno if I'd recommend pledging anything to their project yet though. There could be legal fallout between the two warring parties that might put a kink in this new project.

Seriously...he just left a project, sentencing it to death, and he already get 2.5k+ / month on the new one?

I really don't understand how peole think...

ITT, eventually: people who don't even know 1/10th of the full story and yet still want to consider an artist abandoning a sinking ship to protect their reputation, livelihood, and intellectual property "sentencing a project to death."

--Game looks good though and I'm seriously hoping S-Purple can get it off the ground without having to deal with HBomb's shit and the fallout caused by it even more than they already have.

I actually like how this game looks, more than I did Breeding Season.

The thing is though that S ditched the other game, AND he was a bit of an asshole about it (took all art assets).

Also HBomb is immature enough to post his public info on a blog post in revenge.

So I'm unsure if this game will even last long enough.

If in 6-7 months this game is still active, and gives proper updates then I just MIGHT help out with a backing.

That is a big IF though... :|

Looks interesting but I'm wary myself about the project especially from the fallout from what happened a few days ago. Err on the side of caution and wait 6 months to a year and see then with what happens I suppose.

hows he getting 2.5k? even if h-bomb is lying he still abandoned his last game

He didn't abandon jack. Even taking his most recent post about the subject with a huge grain of salt, the other people involved who aren't HBomb corroborate that they themselves were also in the process of and/or planning to leave the team within the next month, or less. S-Purple is just catching the brunt of the shitstorm because he -- rightfully so -- chose to take hold of the majority of the work he contributed to the game (art assets) so HBomb couldn't continue using them in an effort to keep pretending work was still being done on Breeding Season without him.

(Ignoring the first bits)

So I'm unsure if this game will even last long enough.

Every Indie game S-Purple has worked on outside of Breeding Season has seen him complete what has been expected of him -- namely art and animation assets -- 100% to the letter of how much he was hired to be involved in the project. Hell, the game he helped publish/worked on last year -- Gnomefest -- was finished in under a year, and both he and the team that hired him published consistent updates throughout its dev cycle.

Regardless of the he said, she said drama that's come out of Breeding Season ending the way it has, I find it supremely unfair -- and just a little bit misinformed -- to trash and doubt S-Purple's work ethic and name him the sole reason why someone should be wary of Cloud Meadows. Yeah, sure: be wary of internet projects with big dreams, especially ones in the porn dev industry, and that applies to anyone; but enough evidence exists online to clearly demonstrate that for the past two to three years it's always been S-Purple and other artists putting hundreds of man-hours into their side of the development process, each of them streaming for several hours a day, most of the time fairly consistently, while HBomb has seemingly done jack all in a similar time-frame. (Seriously, their "work streams," often consisted of them playing videogames or watching movies.)

Be wary, I'm not saying don't be; but also don't shit on a guy's work ethic when all evidence available points to him getting shit done way more than not

Probably won't be supporting this game for a long while, first and foremost because I am skeptical of whether or not it'll get anywhere. Secondly, whether or not S was 'right' to do what he did under the terms of his contract is irrelevant to me personally. I don't agree with the lack of communication, and him making a similar competing project to Breeding Season while still employed by Breeding Season and planning to leave, with full intentions to gut the project when he did so of most art assets. He should have disclosed his intentions to leave immediately, and the break should have been a lot cleaner.

If I even remember the project in a year or whenever, and it seems healthy. I might give it another look.

The project has no gameplay, no demo, apparently their programmer just quit, and they're getting $2.5k+ per month. At some point people are going to have to learn to stop throwing money at people like this. If they wanted to earn people's trust they'd set their Patreon to pay out per update instead of per month - accepting monthly payments with absolutely no product to display smells like a cash grab. This is a scam until they prove otherwise.

I honestly wouldn't consider backing any Breeding Season remnants. I wasn't really fond of that game even before it started falling apart.

Okay, if what is said about S-purple finishing his workload but the projects themselves tanking is true, then fine I won't hold that much against him, he's still a dickbag for letting BS die and the backers of it in financial limbo, but I can understand a difficult situation with an incompetent manager/co-worker. However, the only -and I mean THE ONLY- way I'd even considered even giving him a cent of my money is if (and yeah, I'm beat this dead horse to a stain on the ground) there's a playable male breeder/MC - AS. A. DEFAULT. Not some backer pledge, a placeholder, or some maybe blue-sky promise; an a default, unique fully realized character just like the female MC.

This and a playable demo or monthly public release will at least put me off the edge about this game and it's team.

I'm sure as hell not going to back it without seeing how the fucking thing plays- the fact that the mechanics are locked behind being a donator is some real fucking bullshit. Granted, I wasn't backing Breeding Season either though but still, I'm not cursing my inability to throw support at this thing.

One thing I'll give it is at least they decided to not make the harpy look like a child again. But, on the other hand, damn if they didn't lower the cup sizes on everyone by a huge degree.

I remember that. Then all of the sudden they were gone, and it was bullshit. I was so pissed when I got the next version, and the scenes were gone.

Even those felt utterly token and boring, and the fact that it took 2 years to get it was disappointing, I mean I get that the game was INTENDED for a male audience that likes to watch women have sex with monsters but stuff like that is boring when it's literally the core fetish of 90% porn.

I know I get indirectly paid by it every now and then but what amounts to paying for a MMO subscription every month for game development is just the most mind boggling thing for my poor and irish self.

Well obviously you seem to be an S-Purple super fan.

Anyways, I'm not "shitting on his work ethic".

I am giving my opinion on a situation where 2 people could sue each, thus putting a project on hold.

I chose to type out what both people did, which you chose to ignore because of the super fan you seem to be.

That way people could understand that I think each of the people could sue each other if something comes up in the future.

Also the fact I said that I liked how Cloud Meadow looked, shows that I like the work he actually does.

So stop trying to read between the lines, and actually take in the entire picture you stupid fuck...

Both of them did stupid things, that either one of them could regret later on.

I don't mean to be angry in a forum post, and my only excuse is not sleeping in 3 days because of work.

But seeing people intentionally skip half of one of my posts, in an attempt of making me seem like a douche who insults others livelihood?

That tends to get to me a lot...

Now I'm off to sleep, and I look forward to the future reply I KNOW you will make. <3

Sorry if I came off rabid, I really wasn't. I ignored the first part of your post not to make you look bad, but because I'm not going to argue with anyone about their opinion on what fallout between HBomb and S-Purple. (I personally believe both mishandled the situation in their own ways, though HBomb seems to be way more at fault for me.) You're completely entitled to think X or Y about the situation; what I wanted to speak to is about your being unsure about the new game itself.

Again, yes: be wary about the situation, that's fine! I agree you should be; but -- as I've explained here and elsewhere -- I find that the prevailing reason for people being "wary," or reacting "negatively," to Meadows is based on their -- to me -- incorrect perception of S-Purple as a professional. You don't personally crap over his work ethic, and I apologize for insinuating that you did; but a lot of people are throwing more shit at him for supposedly being "Greedy," and "lazy," than they are at HBomb and I find that infuriating. Like, yes: I am a fan of S-Purple, his art and talking to him a few times about the creative process has inspired me in various ways; but you don't have to even be a fan of his to see that more evidence exists to support S-Purple's take on the situation -- or, at the very least that he isn't lazy and didn't do any work -- than there currently exists to support HBomb's take.

S-Purple has receipts to counter many of the claims that H-Bomb has made, both written and screenshot. Meanwhile, HBomb's post is entirely just a rant that has no evidence S-Purple did any of the things he's accused him of; and, in fact: S-Purple was actually streaming his creating more art for the project just this month.

--At any rate, I do apologize if what I said came off as rude, or that you feel what I quoted misinterpreted your original point. It wasn't my intention.

hows he getting 2.5k? even if h-bomb is lying he still abandoned his last game

I dunno... can you really consider it "abandoning" after everything that was said and shown (and considering what the other team members mentioned)?
Is S-Purple a slave who is forced to toil away until Breeding Season is done, while the person who is supposed to be a partner is absent more often than not?

It is not like the project was abandoned at the first sign of trouble, or the tenth... do you want to say that S-Purple signed a contract somewhere that forces him to finish aproject no matter what, even if he has to do everything on his own?

(Please do not interpret this as an attack against you. I just want to know why you consider S-Purple to be "abandoning" Breeding Season. From the looks of it, H-Bomb did so a lot sooner, considering that basically evreyone on the team appeared to have done H-Bomb's work in his stead, and that H-Bomb contributed very little to the project.)

As for Cloud Meadow:
It looks nice. I never put any money on Patreon because the entire concept appears kinda fishy to me (I would rather send them some money once as a sign of my appreciation), but I will definitely keep an eye on this. I also expect that some legal issues will crop up, but I hope there won't.

At the very least, I want to be cautiously optimistic about this. I feel like both sides of the Breeding Season debacle are at fault, personally. Everyone's an asshole! :D

As for this game, I wouldn't back it right off the bat, but personally I'd rather sit back and wait to see where the project goes. Maybe wait for a demo or two to come up, and hope to hell that this game has an analogue to BS's Marchioness. She was my favorite character.
