Is heavy armour ever worth using on a damage champ? Wearing actual dragon scales is cool af but seems to be objectively worse for non tanks than lamellar (still no clue why that's light and chainmail isn't) or other light armours

Still not over the corrupted hive getting cut tbh. I know it wasn't the biggest piece of content, but it was one of my favorite smaller things to go back to. It also sucks that now you HAVE to purify it to get a fully upgraded wayfort. There's not that much corruption content to begin with, and now you have to actively get rid of what's there. Just makes me feel like shit and killed a lot of my interest in the game.

I'm sort of in the same boat but I kind of understand why Savin did it. It hadn't been expanded upon since introduction years ago, even despite Savin putting a bounty on expanded the corrupted route on the Coc2 writers discord. But I am unsure how much the bounty was or if that discord is public or private. Though the hive getting cut, along with how corruption been treated over all, has left me unsure about any future corruption content.

Though I've also found it .... better not to approach Coc2 as a sequel to Corruption of Champions or as much of a corruption game in general. Instead I approach it as a decently made, if not a bit too linear, text base RPG that happens to have adult content in it.

I think the game on startup needs a better indication of loading progress. The first few bootups will often not show any of the saved games and/or be missing several graphic elements in the Load menu for quite awhile. Leads to a lot of closing and reopening the game until everything is shown.

Not having a ton of corruption content was one thing, but actively removing it and railroading you into pure stuff kills my interest in a whole different way. Not only is it removing a corrupt route, but it ruins the pure stuff for me too. It's not choosing to be good, its just forced on you. Compare it with something like the winter city: Side with Kasyrra or not, the end result is the same, but it gets you there in slightly different ways. You're either the good guy stopping her, or her plan just backfires on its own. But the hive is just mandatory purification now, and it sucks. It wouldn't even be such a sticking point if I could just ignore it, but it's mandatory to fully upgrade the Wayfort.

but theres also ahmri and the centaurs, who DO have a corrupt route, so the hive was genuinely just abandoned and a dead end, you couldnt get any companions out if it, and it was repetitive, a lotnof writers just didnt want to write anything majorly corrupted ig

I mean, Corrupted Hive end was just a content dead end. You got one or two new scenes, a misserable amount of corruption if you're going for a DK run, and two new busts, one of which is literaly just Bimbo Azzy without her chocker nor clothes. I can understand the frustration of the content being entirely removed, because honestly, if it were to be reworked and offered something different instead of simply being the third time you can remove a recruitable companion from the game (with the only difference being you can "kinda" still interact with the character in question), i would have liked it better, personally. But i also understand the writers wanting nothing to do with it, so i'd rather have it be axed now than leave it as another element to the already expansive pile of "this stuff was abandoned, do with it as you please"

I just don't think it being a dead end as far as content was the worst thing ever. The main draw for me was having the option to do something corrupt even if it didn't give me very many, if any, rewards. I didn't even necessarily mind being penalized for it by missing out on a companion because the game pretty much outlines it being a bad idea in the first place by asking if you're sure you want to do it. I didn't personally need a bunch of new content written for it because I was content with simply being allowed to make the choice in the first place.

Exactly. There are so many characters in this game that are just "Do a small quest, get three or four repeatable scenes (doing a quest sometimes optional)." Being a "dead end" to a fairly sizable quest was already more content than most of the standalone "dead end" characters have going for them.

I've previously defended the removal but this is actually a really good point ngl
