I am planning to write a new race, a new npc and an associated transformative item

Race:

Kael or Neckal

EDIT (January 2017): Things revised, Codex rewritten

They live in the deep seas of an aquatic world that has been discovered during the first planet rush, but have been largely ignored because they have no significant resources. Their own technology enables them to travel frequently to their moons and other planets in their solar system, but most of them stay on their home-world.

Any ideas are welcome, but please keep in mind that your idea might go against my (current) headcanon.

NPCs:

Loreley

&

Dr. Grim Fluke

Loreley is going to be Grim's assistant. He or she is male (concerning sex), bears a frog-like face and long green quill-hair. Tawny-scaled with a long single tentacle tail. She'll sell you the tf-ing stuff if you have talked to Grim. She'll also have some different stances on kael society and isolationism than Grim.

Dr. Grim Fluke is basically a tomboy-kael, who modded herself until she looked like a human (lost her scales and facetype_siren) with six tentacle-legs, webbed hands and short quill-like hair. (I'll draw her up, when I have some time.) EDIT: Redesigned her a tiny bit to be less human.
When I am done writing, I hope that she can orally please every pc, but she will only do so if she is horny enough, sex scenes that occur when she is below a certain limit will be orgasm-denial, teasing, maybe some exhibitionist punishment and possibly other stuff I have not sorted out yet. When she is totally over the edge, she will flee the scene (and take the pc with her, when the trust is high enough). EDIT (Jan 2017): Also revised, rewriting and further rethinking in progress
She'll also tell you a bit of folk-lore, which is highly valued in the modern neckal's society, how she ended up on {whatever planet she'll fit, I was originally thinking about Tarkus, but am open to suggestions}, her job, which is cultural studies of alien societies, her likes and dislikes and whatever I can think of.
Last but not least, if you have done enough of her talk-scenes, she will offer you to buy and try some food from her home-world that looks like seaweed in eggnog and will transform you.

[WIP] TF-item:

Necktar or seaweed and eggnog

Questions:

What do I need to write for the item, except for the transformation scenes and item information and how do I format that?

Am I biting of more than I can chew here?

I am looking forward to suggestions, but please note that these here are not all of my ideas, just the solid ones.

Perhaps, but writing varies from person to person.

I myself have spent over a month on my TF, and it's a relatively short one. Hopefully I'll finish it soon.

Maybe you should start of with writing the character and codex first, and then think about the TFs afterwards.

Creating a race and having the only member of that race be heavily modded to look almost nothing like that race seems...odd.

I know of that one, thank you. My main concern was that it does not detail how to write up new stuff (primarily new types and flags). What needs to be included for these and most importantly how do I format these? I've been sort of unclear sorry.

Yeah I did that too, although I had a ton of other stuff to sort out, but one and a half month for 13 pages, seemed unproductive to me.

That was the plan, but on the other hand, I have to acknowledge and reference what is included in the code before I write up a race (at least if a pc should be able to transform).

You might want to take a look at other authors' works. I myself use the Ceresperin doc quite often https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TmF5Y3Jg2567H4oJcXAtTi7NQ1IcCYOFX8F7Ky3Zwg8/edit#heading=h.xfwuf9llvsj1

Wise words from Gedan:

If you're adding new appearance descriptions (as in, new body part types), include some example descriptions. Check the parser document for any and all parse tags that your new part might appear in, copy all the examples given, and then use them to provide your examples. We'll probably change what you give us, at least a little bit, but we can use your examples as pretty clear "are we in the right ballpark" kind of material.

Sorry for the late response, I was busy with university, and afterwards I selfishly wanted to devote my 800th post to a status update to my own project.

@shadefalcon No problem. I just got home from university myself, and dedicating your special post to your own project is perfectly understandable. Thanks a lot for your help.

EDIT: I'll add an assistant, who will be your first contact and is not modded. Loreley will be a bit of a trappy, female-identifying male, rest is still to be decided.

So I started writing a codex entry today. Link to the g-doc is in the first post.
