The weapon won't lose power at any point. It will just be not be able to used until a certain point. There will also be ways to adapt it to have new abilities down the line, but you'll have to complete quests in the chain to gain that ability.
A changing-ability pseudo-magic super-powerful katana that survived for millennia that you must be worthy to wield does not sound like anything but wish fulfillment to me.

Playing coy isn't going to help you any. Here's a hint: playtesting aside, the writers and coders generally don't have the time to play the games they make. This forum is already considered spoilery. If you're going to play this game, don't be surprised when help is lacking and scorn is incoming.

Going to echo this sentiment. You respect the sword so much that you want to associate it with a low-brow pornographic game. Really now.

You're clearly too emotionally attached to your unique special snowflake. It's understandable -- a lot of novice writers are attached to their babies too much to want to slice them to ribbons. As things are, it's not going to get in, no matter your rationalisations. For example, "pierces shields" breaks several fights completely, like Urbolg who is supposed to surrender when 80% of his shields are depleted. And no, you aren't going to get anyone to go back in and rework the entire fight mechanics just for one item.

Anytime you have to delve into a lengthy and convoluted explanation of just why you deserve an exception the rest of the game follows, you've already lost. This entire exchange reminds me of people trying to get bestiality into CoC2 and trying to play the qualification game. "What if it talks?" "What if it has human-level intelligence?" "What if it can consent?"

I can tell you straight up-front: nerf this heavily and bring it in line with everything else or it doesn't get in.

I'm not saying anything is definite. I've said multiple times that this is massively subject to change, as is the formatting and details I put into it. I've acknowledged the other person's comment, and I'm trying my best to open each part of my story for viewing. I definitely want feedback, and I'm trying to work at a pace that fits my schedule, allows me time to flesh out my ideas for proper viewing, as well as be clear and easily understood to everyone viewing this.

Also, I explained a bit ago that its not my project I don't like being undermined. I'm fairly prepared for that. I just just don't like people mocking my culture. Western cultures seem to gravitate towards calling all things Japanese "weeb" stuff. It's rather ignorant, so I'm trying to avoid it.

I never said you must be worthy. I'm intending to be a rather serious quest line that will be a tale of suspense, intrigue, and history. It's just going to take more time to flesh it out.

If you want to know what "wish fulfillment" would be for me, that's another story.

Whew, this comment section is getting heated. And i mean in a bit of a bad way. too many requests for nerfs.

@Magnolia, i'm going to assume that since you said i essentially guessed the first phase of the quest, that this Katana is going to have a bad end as a potential route. In which Steele is killed by the blade when trying to wield it.

I'm also going to assume that you're going to add the requirement for high willpower, as wielding a cursed blade without high willpower is suicide at the very least. Meaning you are probably going to either add a character, or a manual that tells you a method of how to strengthen your willpower. I'm also going to hypothesize that this katana will be somewhat like the Tai e made by Ou Yezi, meaning the blade had a special method of forging that puzzles almost every scientist in the galaxy of the TiTS-verse.

as mentioned, since this is probably going to require training to wield, Steele will be provided a training weapon to practice withe before moving on to a real katana to practice with, before eventually moving on to use the Relic, but only by maintaining high willpower. Or by having someone suppress the the blade with qi, in which it's stats will go down considerably and it will also lose the "Ignores Shields" flag, but gain maybe 2 points of evasion.

As for my last assumption for now, i'm also going to assume that you're going to make it part of the quest that it explains how the crafting method has changed the blades material entirely, unintentionally making it so that it radiates a particular energy, similar go the Slut Ray which makes it able to bypass shields.

Does that sound about right?

As creative and wonderful of an example that would be, the quest is actually going to involve tracking down quantum reflections of different individuals who wield a weapon similar to the original in Anno's shop. There will be a mechanic called "Aural" which allows this weapon, comprised of a quantum adaptive to "communicate" with the other weapons, leading you to their wielders, who will eventually teach you their techniques.

You will also gain the ability to convert the "base weapon" into those other unique weapons, or "adapt" them to be a blend of both, gaining elemental damage, in exchange for a bit of base damage.

Each weapon will allow you to commune with the wielder, as well as view their memories through their eyes to learn what they have learned.

This, however, is a rushed explanation, so I do apologize.

I dunno why y'all are obsessing over this thing's stats so much.

We have an automated spreadsheet we use to calculate an item's stats based on what level it's for and how hard it is to get. What the author wants the thing's stats or abilities to be don't matter.

Is there anything formatting-wise I should look out for while doing the draft so it can be closer to "sufficient" before submitting the first time? Any specifics I might need to avoid?

Just look at any of my documents here. I'm told the Anno ones are basically perfect.

Thank you very much~ I'll do my best to bring everything up to standard.

You've so many examples I was hoping to see. You've helped out so much more than you know. Thank you so much~

I'd say it's more a case of Internet users (keep in mind that this stemmed from 4Chan users changing "Wapanese" to "weeaboo" to further ridicule certain people, which is as much of a generalisation as pointing to "Western cultures") jaded at what could be the umptenth random user seeing him/herself as the ultimate Japanophile trying to shove certain interests onto TiTS.

In general, I'd like to avoid generalizations like that. I'm would just prefer keep things civil. This feedback section has certainly gotten away from that. And I certainly don't mean offense when I say "western cultures". I know many people (at least where I live, currently and from my personal experience) mean it as an insult when they call people Weeaboo. And the social run-off drains onto the culture that bore the term, sadly. I know I can't change it, but that's merely why I asked those people not to.

(Has there honestly been anything good coming from 4 chan? Ever? Just a passing curiosity. Hehe~)

Just write your weebstick questline and submit it. If you wanted feedback, the consensus is "this is a bad idea". If its of quality, Fenoxo will (probably) accept it. Its power will be determined at the time of implementation, and you will likely have no influence upon this.

I noticed that the document is only view-only. I was hoping that I could run through it and make grammatical suggestions.

Thank you for your feedback. You seem annoyed by this, and you're getting to sound rude, so I shall say I apologize this isn't to your standards, and bid you a nice day.

Oh. It is? I'll fix that shortly. Thank you for letting me know. And if you do see anything that's odd, can you leave a comment about what was changed after you do so? I want to make a note in case I make any future content.

canuck land.
This has gotten more confusing since the last read. Why does this sword make you dream?

"First off, I should introduce myself. You may call me Takeuchi. Only Takeuchi. Second off, this place isn't a normal planet. It isn't actually around anymore, all told. This is a dead planet. Fitting for the dreams of one who is drawn to death."

"W-what do you mean?" You mutter softly.

"You were drawn to my sword. A sword that reeks of death and blood. Not because it has ever taken a life, mind you. But because it created the weapons that did." Her rather large hands slide gently over your body, down your back and over your shoulders as she comforts you. "That weapon gave birth to four weapons for four master swordsmen. Each taking on radically different qualities. Each going on to create rivers of blood for different reasons."

"So… the voices were of these warriors who wielded four swords that came from yours?" You say, looking up at her face. She solemnly nods, releasing you from her grasp as she stands and dusts herself off a bit.
How big was this sword to make 4 other swords?! Another thing, the damage is more suited to at least a level 8 weapon not level 5. This magic space sword got more confusing and and op. It also seems to add an npc.

This is a quest weapon, dear. The NPC is quest related, and there will be others for each of the linked Aural weapons.

And the stats haven't been touched yet because they don't matter. They have a system that changes them.

Consider the project dead. If possible, I'd like this to be marked for deletion.
