I'm sure we'll see more of parasitic tentacle monsters, interdimensional and "mundane," as we delve deeper into the Tainted Space.
Hang on a minute... Taint is related to Tainted Space. Victor possibly died from Taint. What if, after his "death," he became some sort of eldritch interdimensional tentacle monster? What if ol' pops is the final boss? After all, he'd be possibly the most Tainted individual in the TiTS universe. What if he accidentally and unknowingly opened the Gates of Tentacle Rape Hell through his shenanigans?

Victor possibly died from Taint.

He died of DNA breakdown after decades of mutations. I'm not sure all TFs happened to bear Taint (even if non-refined TFs and rudimentary nanomachines were more prevalent in his time).

Clearly, DNA disintegration is the first step of Taint turning you into an eldritch tentacle beast bent on raping the universe. It needs to do away with some troublesome DNA before it can impose its own form on a body, break it down into a blanker slate of mass. Nobody recognized it at the time because it's such a new phenomenon.
