So I've been having trouble coming across the purple egg, and the wiki was no help at all, so here I am asking you all for help.
I've only encountered pink eggs and golden eggs, I've abused the harpies more than enough times to slowly despise them and their featheriness. Am I not looking in the right place? I've been in all the locations .

Pure RNG bad luck for random drop, or help Shar with the Ugly Duckling quest. She allows you to pick colour of egg received.

RNG hates you, friend. But as mentioned above, you could complete Shar’s quest and give her an Ovilixir because she lets you pick the color. And if you give her two or three more, she can pop the egg right away if you’re in a rush for any reason.
