Treated Steph Irson is no longer canon. Now the bull on New Texas shoves a fistful of bovinium pills into her mouth. I think the revised version is in the backers version or just on github.
And what's the difference between treated version, and pills shoved into her mouth version?
Last time i checked her - her personality was the same.

Last time i spoke with her - she had that quite bubbly personality.

Now that I got the proper one.
There were a lot more than a couple of people, majority of people from what I can remember didn't like it, myself included. This is one of those instances where Fen decided it would be in the best interests of the game to you know change things around.
I'm going to side 100% with fen on this, people need to learn to deal with things not pandering to their fetishes. The Dr. badger and Emmyquest changes were handled much better (a chance to back out of the bimboification process, and an alternative option to get the flower other than beig tentacle raped for emmy).
Nothing ruins my enjoyment of a product more than (self)censorship, even if I dont like the content that was censored.
Bimbofication is one of the more extreme fetishes, like drugs, which means getting involved in it should involve player consent. New Texas does this by sequestering most of the bimbo content on itself, allowing Fen to indulge in all the bimbo cowgirls he wants. Adding the Treatment to Steph, a character many players were already following, meant pushing the bimbo fetish on an audience that didn't agree to it first. It would be much like if Steph's visit to Myrellion had caused her to become a venom addict, or Tarkus had given her a cock from one of those lapinara that pass eggs out their dick: you would be pushing the fetish on people who didn't agree they wanted in on it first.

Honestly I feel like it's for the best. As Couch just said, it's a rather extreme fetish with a lot of implications towards mental stuff that is going to carry for the character throughout her future scenes. Which leads to issues writing for her in the future scenes. Especially for the path that takes her away from being so abused by her network or just going into porn.
It's not *quite* the same as that. Worth bearing in mind Steph gets all sorts of shit pushed onto her involuntarily anyway, including a tail cock. She's a way for people into involuntary TF-ing to enjoy that kind of thing without it impinging on the rest of the audience.
The NT sequence got canned because it was a forcible, permanent chemical lobotomy followed by an on-screen rape. It matters that the person doing the raping is a mostly human guy acting like a psychopath, as opposed to a savage species Irson foolishly riles. Even then it might have scraped within TiTS' very loose understanding of what is acceptable, given at that point Steph was a cartoon character to whom it was accepted this sort of thing happened to. However then you got to meet Steph, and it turned out she wasn't particularly happy about it or any aspect of her recent career (or rather, she palpably *wanted* to be unhappy about it but no longer had the capacity to be), at which point most of the audience went "eesh". As I said before, the whole episode is a case study in making sure your boner doesn't overwhelm your better judgment, particularly if you're writing stuff you're going to have to justify and pick through the rubble later. Leave it to the bad ends, in other words.
There's a difference between censorship and revision. If something isn't working, like the Steph scenes, then it needs to be revised. That's part of the writing and game-making process.
I'd added a second thing because I didn't want to come off as shitting on Myrellion some more, but I was attempting to illustrate that making Steph a drug addict needing a hit of venom before a shoot would have been a similarly bad move. The tailcock by comparison is another physical TF, which is perhaps annoying for her but not potentially life-ruining. Go see V-Ko, chug some Terran Treats and everything will be fine. Steph getting involuntarily TFed on a regular basis is made easier to swallow by how it's reversible.
The reversibility is definitely the key to making Steph's content enjoyable. I mean even our PC, with the best tech our rich as all fuck daddy could shove into us, cannot easily reverse something as permanent as the Treatment. Assuming I've read the doc correctly for the dude who made the tech in us, it's something that we'd be hard pressed to undo even with the full resources of our company.
So imagine how permanent and life changing it is for a nature show host.
