What's Fen's Stance on Space Religions/Cults

I feel like I read somewhere that somebody had to modify a submission because it included religious imagery. I don't remember where though. I want to be brief in talking about my project since telling someone "I'm working on a book!" gives you the same high as if you'd actually done real work (which can lead to you doing less/no work). I want to create an NPC that's part of a cult inspired by the Cthulhu mythos. Except instead of madness you've got lust and any tentacles are capped with dicks. I want to cater to ass-worship, cock-worship, breast-worship and the like. I don't plan on having the PC actually join the cult, just fuck some fetish nuns and priests. But before I get started in earnest I just wanted to be sure I'm working on something that wont get rejected outright.

Yes, that was me. Originally Sera went to a Catholic school growing up, and talked a bit about that. Fen didn't like it and had me change it to the generic One church Shep Darnock subscribes to. So essentially the rule is: Don't mention real world religions. As Cthulhu cults don't exist and yours would be inspired off of them anyway, you would be in the clear. Your idea sounds hot, fwiw.

Ah right that's what it was. And thanks for the reply.

I wonder if the bigger question is how does the supernatural work/not work in this setting? Is summoning creatures a thing that can happen in the TiTS universe? Or perhaps it could be a science-fantasy thing where they get summoned/called from hyperspace or something.

In any case, I am interested in the idea of sexy eldritch horrors. Unspeakable abominations from beyond the veil, things mere mortals were not meant to know... they don't want to hurt anyone, they're just looking for some cuddles and perhaps a roll in the hay...

O ye of little faith. Isn't one man's science a more primitive man's magic? It all depends on how it's explained. There can be space demons, it just has to be something like:
1 ancient race of horned creatures with a predisposition towards deviousness and intelligence
1 "summoning circle" that's actually a complex teleportation device whose knowledge of construction was imparted upon the lesser races when the "demons" first made contact but was built in such a way that it can only be used 1 way to summon from the ancient race's "dimension"
1 "alternate dimension" that's actually a planet that's so far away that the warpgates will not be able to reach it for thousands of years

And there you have it. The recipe for space demons

Well we already got npc that modded themselfs to looks like demons (*cough* Seraa *cough*) so in a way we already got Space Demons. So many Space X races are not simply made as race that went into space. So with demons it may be as well merely other races to mod themselfs to look like typical demon to make illusion we got space demons race which in fact may be one huge lie that all pretend to not see.

You can write a race in order to fulfill your catgirl fetish or whatever. But you can't, say, try and insert Reapers into the lore.
