What to do for Velika?

I spoke with Velika but I was distracted at the time so I didn't pick up on what she ways saying so I have no idea what to do with her (if anything) so I went to an earlier save and I just can't talk to her no matter what I do. I read that you have to speak with the Biotech receptionist in the DMZ, which I tried but she's still unavailable to speak with

Velika first appears in a random (but likely) encounter when exiting the Xenogen office.

You need to go see Dr. Macallister in the Xenogen lab (the next square after the receptionist) and talk to him. Sing him her praises so she gets a promotion to Uveto.
Then,

meet her in the bar and have a few drink, then go out in the wilds and find the item she is looking for, and encounter her there.
