Planned max level is 10, and don't worry about stat/resistance caps. They don't really matter in the long run.
Please tell me you're joking... Lvl grinding is like my least favorite thing in any game
Fortunately, companions are mostly recruited early-game and we've gotten most (though not quite all) implemented into the game at one level or another already.
If it's really that big a deal then just set the game on easy mode, auto battle, and hit explore over and over. Shouldn't take more than 10 min per companion to get to level 5. If you switch companions semi-regularly there's not much need to grind in the first place since there are a few months gap between every added level (assuming you'll be playing the game as it's being developed).

If your companions are under your level, they get double experience from combat.

I thought it was if they have less total XP than you (including XP consumed by previous level ups), then they get +50% XP. At least, that's what my experiences with the latest public build indicate.

So... Just got access of the "Flames Within" power. But apparently I need to be lvl 7 to use it. So, is there some kind of secret ritual or milestone that I need before leveling up, or lvl 6 is the Max and that ability was implemented but isn't usable yet?
Rather than continue to bump a two year old topic, consider looking this stuff up for yourself. When the level cap is raised, we will be told and it will be mentioned in the patch notes.
I was very confused starting to read this topic thinking it was new and apparently it was so old the rules have all changed!

Well shit I was hoping for something on the lines of what the OG CoC had seemingly endless leveling (my lv 93 Dracowolf) it became extremely grindy unless you exploited the Low level XP bonus fought Behemoth lv 22 at lv 16 about around 30 times without resting. wouldn't mind a level scaling feature for a NG+ or something. I Played the hell out of the 1st CoC plus a ton fan created CoC content as well. Love the Debug wand sad its not a feature on here. I'm constantly switching between CoC2 & TiTS I play on my tablet at work during my lunch breaks my coworkers are none the wiser(Smug Evil Grin)
The Current Level cap is 7 I have my Exp at 150000/150000 I'm hoping for more passive perks you can earn by doing certain tasks.
