Sorry, Terra. If this game takes place hundreds of years in the future, but I'm curious to know the lore and backstory to how Earth became Terra and what happened to the countries there. Like I noticed that Steph Irson speaks in a New Brisbane accent, which I equate to an Australian accent, Jesse and Yoma speak in British accents, and Charles speaks in a Scottish accent, which I can't remember the names of the nationalities they replaced.

We're not sure how much Earth has changed in the five millennia since today, but it's still prosperous enough that Victor Steele was comfortable raising his heir (i.e. the PC) there. New Brisbane and probably Ur Caledon are in a similar situation to New Texas; they're colony worlds named after some place in the colonists' country of origin (Natalie Irson actually talks a bit about New Brisbane), and not places on Earth that got (re-)named as a result of socio-political shifts.

As for specific locations on Earth mentioned by name:
  • Velta's mother is from India and her father is from Latvia.
  • Bianca is from Lucerne (a Swiss city), which I presume means Switzerland is still around in some form.
  • Anno doesn't know what the United States is, which means it might not exist anymore - or maybe it does, and she's just ignorant of Terran nations in general.

Is this a Warhammer 40k-like scenario, but instead of religious fascism, it's bio-engineering, megacorporations, and tech evolution.
