I don't think I've played a mage since the most recent combat rework, What powers/equipment is good for them now?
What does a good black mage build look like these days?

I've been wanting to experiment with black mage myself for forever, but I'm not one of the build experts that come around, so my stuff is really casual and base level understanding you know? I recently respec'd my main characters into BM because I just didn't like early game BM so these are what my stats ended up looking like (and I'm open to any input). Besides that, it's really just flavoring your spells to tastes, I guess. I'm experimenting with some spell tomes I found earlier in the game but this is my currently set up
And this is my gear. I lean on tease and magic while I tend to keep Brint/Brienne, Cait, Arona, and Atugia in rotation to really do the damage and support. I just like slinging spells and doing a horny.
Haven't had any issues so far with catching up on the current story content and side quests combat wise so I think it's solid enough. Hopefully it helps but again, I just respecc'd a character I already had sitting around so I'm not too knowledgably on how early game BM is because I just didn't like it the last time I attempted it.
I do remember there's some nifty mage gear you can get from quests and loot drops, a couple pieces of decent gear for early game some de and there's a mage shop in Khor'Minos which can help depending on how fast you wanna try to get there.
