What are busts?

Hello!
I'm a backer and have played through all current content a couple of times. One thing I see over and over in patch notes and threads is talk about busts. I cant find any info on them on the wiki, here on the forums or by searching online.

Can anyone explain what they are, where/how to get them and what they are for?

I'm guessing all the busts that have been done and the ones that have been planned are kept on a Trello, so that its more about keeping everything in one place and to stop people from messing with upcoming content?

It's more that the one person who makes all the busts screeches about putting them up and I have to browbeat him just to post them on twitter once in a while >:|

Is it fair to assume there will be more artists working on busts as the game grows bigger?

There is art from 3 artists in game currently, and I think there are a few more pieces from another artist finished but awaiting the content to be implemented. Currently these are just commissions so there probably won't be too much regularity for these artists, but who knows.
