Checking pc.statusEffects in the save file, minutesLeft was null. This usually means an invalid value was attempted to save there.
The save was fixed by changing it to some other number.
The first thing I tried to replicate the problem was to go back to the source. So I went to Vava Groom, and started spamming the Grooming button. And we got lucky. That was it. Attempting to use Grooming while already Groomed causes a NaN to be stored in minutesLeft and the effect becomes permanent. When the value is saved, it is saved as null, and the effect is never removed.
