Can anybody provide any tips for a good tank/dps build for the warrior class?

And what outfits are best for Cait/Etheryn in general

Currently I am using

The warscythe as my main weapon and Ashe as my secondary (l carry her everywhere since it just makes since to)

My abilities are

Equanimity
Deadly strike
Cleave
Thunderstrike/summon earth elemental
Unbreakable


Probably not the most optimized but I am going for a nice balance of dps and tanky

Knowing the rest of your equipment would be helpful too, because without that it's impossible to know things like which of the benefits you're getting from Veteran (and if you've hit level seven, which Perk you picked) and whether your Champ is doing anything to generate Threat other than damaging enemies, and knowing those things are helpful when it comes to suggesting gear sets for your companions that will compliment what you're doing.

The quick rundown on those two companions is:
-Cait-
Passion Priestess: Healer with a side of damage.
Witch: Heals and buffs.
Sun Daner's Silks: Tease DPS with a bit of debuffing and healing.
Hexblade Leathers: DPS, needs some external help to really take advantage of Twist The Knife.
Vestal's Raiment: Tank with some nice damage output.

-Ryn-
Outrider's Gear: Frost-focused DPS with a bit of healing.
Queenly Raiment: Heals, heals and more heals.
Wildkin: Blight-based DPS that's especially good at hitting dodge-happy enemies.

None of these is the 'best' setup, it depends entirely on what role you want them to fill in the party, what sort of things you're currently up against and what plays best with your current setup.

Here's my current equipment. I have the Warscythe back to Elthara. Once I get Ashe in this playthrough I'll have her and the shield from Khorne minos.

Though i just thought about it. How does duel wielding in this game work? Can you duel wild any one handed weapon? I imagine Ashe + Dawmblade would be a potent combination.

Anyhow, looks like you do have the setup to generate extra Threat via Veteran but you don't have any Powers that do it or equipment to help with it so you're pretty much relying on constant offense to keep Threat high so the enemy goes after you and not your squishier companions. I'm not sure what 'Deadly Strike' is supposed to be as there's no power with that name. I can think of a couple that incorporate one of those words, none of which are really ideal for your setup. Deadly Shadow and Shadow Strike grant Obscurement (which you absolutely do not want as a tank because it prevents you from doing your job) while Steady Strike has a huge recharge window which combines with Cleave's Recharge 3 to mean you're going to risk companions out-Threat'ing you while they're on cooldown if enough enemies remain standing. Especially Ryn since based on the art she's in one of her DPS builds and will be generating a lot of Threat on her own.

You might consider swapping your At-Will from Equanimity to Guarded Stance which sacrifices some Crit (which you have tons of anyways with War Scythe equipped) but in return makes you harder to kill and pretty much ensures that you're always going to be the most threatening thing on the battlefield even if you have a long cooldown on both your Recharge abilities.

Though i just thought about it. How does duel wielding in this game work? Can you duel wild any one handed weapon? I imagine Ashe + Dawmblade would be a potent combination.

Only weapons with the Light tag can be dual-wielded and both weapons need to have it, which means you can't use Ashe for it because she doesn't have that tag. Your offhand weapon gets reduced stats.

Sorry about posting a bunch of stuff. I was at work so I had to be quick with my posts

The power I meant was steady strike. The words were overlapped on my phone so that's where that mix up came from. I gave the warscythe back to Elthara though but I am holding onto Giiefmaker.

So it seems I should stick with my original power build

Guarded stance
Cleave
Steady strike
Unbreakable

What other ultimate are available/viable for warriors? I don't think any of them will beat the tankiness of unbreakable though. Is there a good one for dps?

Unbreakable is the tank Ultimate, the only alternative is Aurora of Vigor which requires you to be a Valkyrie and does basically the same thing but trades one turn of invulnerability for all-hitting Holy damage when the effect wears off and you can target an ally with it instead of it being player-only.

The only other Ultimate that really fits with your build would be Assassinate if you wanted a damaging option and that grants Obscurement, which isn't something you want if you're tanking. Also if you have Ryn in your party, Aurora Arrow should be your ace in the hole when you need a damaging Ultimate.

So my build is pretty much set. To be honest im a little disappointed. I was hoping to try out some news stuff lol
