Want to support but some questions <3

So, i enjoy the free version of the game a super ton <3 (excluding one thing i will mention later) and i want to throw some money at this but i have a couple questions <3

is the steam version also the backer version? or some weird half version between backer and free version? or just the free version launchable from steam?

and is the people making this project worth giving money to? i've seen some weird drama stuff which from depending on who you ask makes either side look like the cause of all the evil on the earth, and the devs seem to be abrasive at times, but also people can just be dicks sometimes lol <3 not a big deal <3 (i also realize that the people dedicated enough to post on the forums are probably heavily biased, but who knows)

and finally my only real major gripe, the word shemale, it's just weird and from what i can tell isn't present in TiTS, not a big enough deal on its own, but it seems unnecessary and i'm confused because TiTS seemed more trans neutral, but the decision to keep the word in CoC2 makes me hope it's just laziness and not hate. (no shade if it is laziness btw, just would be cool to remove the word <3)

Well, in their defense it is a world where difference between sexes aren't that fixed. Take the wrong potion, eat the wrong (or right) food and you'll be surprised. I don't think there is a true trans person in the game. Because of that. The closest character IMO is Etheryn. She is in her fantasy society "Half-Sex", and there is an interaction where an NPC is a dick to her, and does not consider her fully female. But she is more what we would consider intersex.

If the word shemale is a dealbreaker for you, then I understand. I also don't like the word, because it kinda says a shemale is fundamentally male. I'd rather have dickgirl. Fundamentally a girl, which happens to have a dick.

For me, I kinda just let it roll. The writing is solid. None of the writer is personally a dickhead to LGBTQ people. If content overtly goes into that direction, like interactions you can have with brint, it is handled nicely and with love. I think the word now feels different than it did before 2016. Then, transpeople were more under the radar of the religious dickheads. Their problems was gay marriage. Shemale was just the word you used. Nowadays where major news outlet question the existence of trans people... It hits different...

Anyways, does this help? I don't know anything about the steam version

The steam version is the free version but with auto updates. So when the game gets its monthly public build it updates without you having to download anything else.

Also if you get the steam version and later want to back the patreon as well, the backer builds get a steam beta key which lets you use the backer version through steam. S'what I do.

And yeah I dislike the word shemale but as I've stated elsewhere this is a world where that's a natural sex characteristic and not actually a term for trans people so I'm more forgiving on that. Especially since nobody in that world takes issue with gender identity or even cares who you used to be and I'd kill for that kinda treatment irl
