Its just a fun way of adding some "oh crap" moments to the game, like if Shade invites Steele to some holiday meal on Uveto and Amara's there. Just imagine the simmering rage between the two as they pass the peas to each other, all the while Shade's trying to keep the peace and Astra's blissfully beaming because her family is together.
Or imagine the awkwardness of Kaede possibly hitting on Astra and finding out they're half sisters.

Or Astra finding out that she's Steele's half-niece if [pc.heShe]'s in a relationship with Shade - or Astra, if she becomes sexable in the future.
Things would get even more convoluted/fun if baby-making gets involved, which is a non-zero possibility since Savin once stated that his stance on Steele having kids with Shade was "I dunno. Maybe?" (though he may have changed his stance on that in the meantime). However, I doubt having either sex with Astra or babies with Shade will be possible if Shade knows she's Steele's half-sister. There's still the possibility that such could happen and the relationship is revealed later, though.
And don't forget, Amara is like Victor in that she's also left a trail of bastards throughout the galaxy, and if Steele follows in their father's footsteps, it would be highly appropriate if one (or both) of them impregnated the other.
Though seriously, I couldn't see Kaede hitting on Astra. Most likely, it'd be the other way around. Or Anno roping them into a threesome (possibly foursome with a Steele who's not having sex with Shade).
And Evil, Kaede is a little unique because I believe Amara BIRTHED her. Zeke is the daddy in that case. It's tough to say if Zeke or Shade are closer to Amara, I'd wager Shade sees Amara more, but Zeke and Amara have much more history with each other.
Don't forget that Zeke was an agent of Lysander Chow (an enemy/rival of the Black Void) when he met Amara, and
Talon Rogue implies that he's still working for/with him in some capacity.

I did! In fact, given the right conditions, I think it wouldn't be implausible for Steele, Amara, Shade, Kara, Saendra, Athena, Kaede and everyone else to side against Bragga in the climactic finale to this whole Pirate Civil War thing, since most if not all of them have some reason to side against her.
