VR?

Been reading patch notes and I've been seeing mention of "VR" stuff.
no rare drops while in VR, adjusted taint gains for VR, that kind of stuff.
What is it ( I mean I know it's virtual reality but other than that), and how do I access it?

I'm pretty sure it's the Mindwash Visor.

Certain enemies drop programs that allow their combat content to be replayed on the Mindwash Visor (including Bad Ends, though getting them in VR doesn't actually end the game).
