Trying the game for the first time in several years. Really don't like the tutorial dungeon.

The Gryvains basically force you to use tease attacks if you are playing Mercenary. I tried with a Tech Specialist earlier and you can get crits with the Scoped Pistol and hit easier so it is possible. My Merc just cannot beat them through attacks though and the character I was going for was not going to use tease attacks. I just find it really annoying that you pretty much have to use them. Corruption of Champions doesn't have anything like that.

Ok I did discover a way. Have to headbutt them and run away until you can get the Arc Sledgehammer to drop then you can beat the Gryvains with that.

They're supposed to teach you that Tease is sometimes better than attacking with weapons. (Whether that's necessary is left as an exercise for the reader.)

But they're terrible at it. Teasing them isn't reliable, even if you strip naked. And they're easily defeated by attacking once you get a better weapon, as you just discovered.

Celise already did this as well not sure why it would need another lesson.

Tease or at the very least Lust weaponry I assume, but you can't really get something like that latter bit in a tutorial dungeon.

And yeah there's the weirdness of basically getting a fight tutorial (the one the game starts with and has had since its earliest days) and then a whole tutorial dungeon right after. It only makes sense when ya skip Celise, bc then you're not basically getting the same info with tease damage taught to ya twice. But it can be redundant if you did fight her.
