To my knowledge there is only one Power you can currently get as a direct result of transforming your character's body. As the developers have explained, their main reason for not putting in more (and for the only existing ability being rather unimpressive) is to avoid creating a push for people for getting transformed away from their desired form.
My main question is this: will having racial abilities be something the player will need to learn from a trainer (and likely pay or barter for) alleviate enough of those concerns to consider having them? Something like learning proper flight from a friendly harpy/manticore/hornet and getting a usable Flight stance, with a potential option to learn a couple of the arial moves afterwards.
If those powers won't be best in class or will have niche application, extreme power gamers and avid collectors will be the only people who will feel compelled to get them at the cost of being stuck with physical transformations they don't necessarily want. In contrast, actually utilizing the most prominent feature of the body your character obtains for gameplay will feel quite satisfying.
