Hi, I wanted to know why the tower Shield gives you more evasion than the hoplon Shield, when in the description of the item says that "is heavy and cumbersome, reducing the user ability to move easily". I just think about it and it doesn't makes sense

Sorry if its badly written, english is not my main language

You're taking the word "Evasion" too literally. It does not refer to the ability to hop, skip or dance out of the way of an attack. It's merely the ability to avoid being hit by an attack. A shield with high Evasion means it's more likely for an attack to hit the shield instead of the bearer.

No worries. You're not the first to be confused by the word "Evasion" in this context.

There are usually nuances between the two in standard rpg mechanics

I mean that's just wrong. Look at Dragon Age. Pillars of Eternity. Dungeons & Dragons.

Or you can look at Divinity Original Sin where there's a "block chance" but all it does is penalize enemy accuracy... like Evasion does :p
