This is my gameplay guide, and I typically play as a Smuggler these days as I’ve discovered that avoiding being hit in the first place is better than 1,000 points of shielding. I’m sure I don’t have every single side quest here, so if anyone has any suggestions to fine-tune this guide, please chime in. I should also note that I only play as a female character, so some quests/options will differ if you have a male character.

Mhen’ga (Take 1)

Person (Location) | Quest | Notes
  • Carl (Crazy Carl’s) | Upgrade Your Starting Gear | Buy a Mark III Laser Pistol and a Shortsword, then sell your old pistol and knife at the Scrapyard Maintenance.
  • V-KO (Medical Center) | Upgrade Your Starting Gear | Buy a Decent Shield Generator to replace your Cheap Shield Generator (if you started with a Cheap one).
  • The Jungle | Leveling Up | Stay in the upper jungle and get enough XP to hit level 2, then retreat to your ship to sleep and level up.
  • Penny (Police Station) | Zil Problem | Help her out with a little problem by kicking the ass of two Zil she’s got in her jail cells.
  • Kase (Jungle Entrance) | Satellite Retrieval | On the far east side of the jungle (kind of near the probe crash site), is a crashed satellite from Pyrite Industries. Fight off a competitor to retrieve the hard drive (which has evidence of sabotage in the satellite’s crash). After returning it to Kase for a reward, buy out his contract and set him free, then recruit him as a crew member. Aside from briefly venturing into the Deep Jungle to reach the crashed satellite here, stay out of it until you’re level 3.
  • Professor Darnock (The Thare Plantation) | Say Hello | Introduce yourself to the professor so that he’ll email you about the Thare Plantation Quest later on.
  • The Jungle | Leveling Up | Stay in the upper jungle and get enough XP to hit level 3, then retreat to your ship to sleep and level up.
  • Carl (Crazy Carl’s) | Hunt Down the Rogue Machina | Ask him about the ZK Rifle, then go hunt down his rogue droid in the jungle (it’s at the bottom southwest, just head straight down at the entrance to the jungle and it's in the bottom left square.
  • The Jungle | Treasure Hunting | In the bottom south part of jungle is a valuable Oxonium deposit worth 5,000 credits. Also, in the southeast corner is an old Xenogen camp, where you can salvage salable items (including the Atma Armor Mark I, which is at least a little better than your Dress Clothes).
  • The Jungle | Leveling Up | Head into the Deep Jungle and get enough XP to hit level 4, then retreat to your ship to sleep and level up.
  • Cousin Jack/Jill (The Jungle) | The 1st Probe | On the far east side of the jungle. Choose to fight Dane, as now that you’re level 4, you should be able to kick his ass with no problem.
  • Syri (Burt’s Badass Mead Hall) | Get to Know Her | Choose the “Bet” option and start gambling with her. Choose “Bet Yourself” like every other time. Talk to her, kiss her, ask her what books she like to read, have sex with her, and eventually she’ll give you her panties, which are a Key Item to being able to do her quests later. Note that getting her panties only happens when you land back on Mhen’ga, so you may need to come back to Mhen’ga a dozen times or so to finally trigger this, but stop in and see her whenever you do come back until it happens.
  • OTHER TIPS: When selling off your loot, first try Burt (for Zil Rations or Honey), then V-KO (who will buy some biological items found in the jungle), and then finally the Scrapyard Maintenance shop. However, if you can spare the room, keep any gear worth over 100 credits in your inventory so that you can sell it to Anno once you get to Tarkus, as she’ll give you the best price for it.
  • BEST GEAR AVAILABLE FOR SMUGGLERS:
Melee: Shortsword from Crazy Carl, Electrified Shock Blade from Dane
Ranged: Mark III Laser Pistol from Crazy Carl
Armor: Atma Armor Mark I from the abandoned Xenogen Camp
Shield: Decent JoyCo Shield from V-KO at the Medical Center

New Texas

Person (Location) | Quest | Notes
  • Cameron (farm on the west side) | Varmint Wrangling | This is a very good XP farm. Start at level 4 and end up no higher than level 7. Also remember to collect all 4 pieces of Silicone scattered over the farm fields; just sell them to Anno for a bit of quick cash after you recruit her on Tarkus.
  • Yammi (Ice Teats Frozen Treats) | Rescue Her from Debt Slavery | Ask her all possible questions (you might need to do this more than once). Her shop will then be closed for a short time. After it reopens, buy out her contract and set her free, then recruit her as a crew member.
  • Miscreant Manor (located on “main street”) | Optional Fun | You can have some fun getting gang-banged by the locals in the stocks, but remember to take a dose of Sterilex first.

Tarkus (Take 1)

Person (Location) | Quest | Notes
  • Anno (Steele Tech Outpost) | The Ghost Deck Quest | Talk to her on all topics, buy about half a dozen EMP Grenades (they’ll come in very handy against the robots on this quest), then have sex with her at least once. Afterwards, ask her to Join Crew – that will start the quest availability (if you’re ready, click to start the mission). Early on in this quest, you’ll come across the Nova Rifle, which I recommend immediately upgrading to. At the end, you can help the crew of the Nova or screw them over – I choose to help them.
  • Anno (Your Ship) | Upgrade Your Armor and Sell Off Your Loot | Now that you’ve finally got Anno onboard, sell her all of your accumulated loot and free up your inventory space. Then buy a Steele Tech Suit from her, as it’s the best armor you can get at this point.
  • Nova (Deck 13) | Recruit Her | WARNING: Visit your ship after recruiting Anno before doing this, or it will glitch and Nova won’t get to join your crew. Return to Deck 13 via the elevator and Make Goo. Instead of the usual batch of Gray Goo, it will spawn a Gray Goo Girl who wants to join your crew, who you will get to name. I always just call her Nova.
  • Dr. Badger and Dr. Lash (far east side of Novahome) | Brief Visits | Briefly stop in and talk to each of them; be very nice or you’ll get killed or bimbo-fied.
  • UGC Peacekeeper Team (far eastern wastes) | The Stellar Tether Quest | Time to play Die Hard on Tarkus. Terrorists have taken over the Stellar Tether and it’s up to you to go in and shoot them. After defeating Captain Khorgan, be sure to take the Platinum 190.
  • Cousin Jack/Jill (Widget Warehouse) | The 2nd Probe | In Shekka’s shop. You’ll need the Platinum 190 to buy it, or you’ll be spending most of your money on it.
  • Shekka (Widget Warehouse) | Upgrade the Raskvels | After buying the 2nd probe, she then has her own little mini-quest (that you mainly just need to make multiple payments to fund). After that, she can be recruited as a crew member. You have to go through all the topics on her Talk option to start this quest, but she has a 6 hour cooldown time between talking to her about the next topic on her list; the fastest way to do this is to just step out of her shop and choose to Wait 3 Hours twice between visits. Once it starts, be prepared to fork over 35,000 credits over 3 payments to fund her project. The quickest way to pass the time here is to pop over to Mhen’ga or Tavros (possibly a few times, back and forth) and take care of some business there before popping back over to Tavros to give her the next payment.
  • BEST GEAR AVAILABLE FOR SMUGGLERS:
Ranged: Nova Rifle from the Ghost Deck Quest
Armor: Steele Tech Suit from Anno
Shield: Hammer Shield from the Sex Bots out in the wastes (you’ll probably get one as a drop if you fight a few of them)
Gadgets: Hoverboard from Shekka

Tavros (Take 1)

Person (Location) | Quest | Notes
  • Azra (Elevator) | Recruit Her | If you’re at least level 7, stop by and recruit her. This will enable 2 quests later.
  • Inessa (Happy Tails) | Unlock Her Chastity Belt | Talk to her, have sex (as a Dom), then ask her about her family and her chastity belt. Once you get to Myrellion, go talk to her sister Xanthe at the Silken Serenity shop in Gildenmere and she has the key you can bring back to her.

Mhen’ga (Take 2)

Person (Location) | Quest | Notes
  • Professor Darnock (The Thare Plantation) | The Plantation Quest | He’ll direct you to retrieve one of his inmates/workers who ran away and is now trying to start a rebellion among the Zil. You’ll need to scale a cliff (be sure to buy a Climbing Kit first and keep it in your Inventory), and get attacked by hordes of angry Zil the whole way up. Once you get to the top, do NOT take the amber idol, challenge Lah to a fight (with spear or bow), and then try Diplomacy with the Zil tribe – choose Words, Security, and Sex. Descending is much easier as they’ll now lower a ladder for you, and you can haul Lah back to the professor for a 22,000 credit reward.
  • Penny (Police Station) | Turn in a Criminal | After visiting Tarkus, stop in and tell her about Dr. Badger, which will shut down the doctor’s shop.
  • Penny (Police Station) | Recruit Her | After having helped her out with her little Zil problem, talk to her on all topics and have sex with her. Afterwards, she’ll be available for recruitment if you help her out a quest to claim a big Oxonium deposit to pay off all her debts. This is a cave in the deep jungle, and is home to Mining Robots and some nasty Venus Zil Traps; don’t free the captives already trapped in these, and be sure to take along a weapon that does burning damage, or they’ll eat you alive. Afterwards, you can recruit her for your crew.
  • Syri (Burt’s Badass Mead Hall) | Get to Know Her | Keep at this whenever you visit Mhen’ga. Be sure to finally get her panties before you hit level 9 or you’ll miss out on her quest.
  • Azra (Your Ship) | Azra Expedition #1 | She needs to collect some plant specimens, and you need to shoot all the natives you come across who try to stop you.

Uveto (Take 1)

Person (Location) | Quest | Notes
  • Ula (random ice cave) | Rescue Mission | Buy a Heat Belt from The Last Chance on Uveto Station before setting out onto the ice, so that you have something to give to her when you finally find her. As a reward, she’ll give you the password to enter Korg’ii Hold.
  • Nayna (Geological Survey Research Lab) | Weather Drone Recovery | Stop off and see her before setting out onto the ice to accept this quest. Recover 5 weather drones in the wilds of Uveto; don’t bother turning them in until you have all 5. See the map below for the locations of all 5 drones.
  • Beatrice Reasner (The Freezer) | Prospecting in the Wilds | Stop off and see her before setting out onto the ice to accept this quest. Her ship is low on fuel, and you need to recover at least 30 pieces of Savicite in the wilds of Uveto to help her out. This is very profitable, but takes forever (getting constantly attacked by high-level natives every step of the way). The best method I’ve found is to gather whatever Savicite you run across while roaming around out in the wilds looking for other things, then wait until you get to Zheng Shi and fight a bunch of Mining Robots in the mines to pick up the rest of the Savicite you need to complete this quest.
  • The Ice/Wilds | Leveling Up | Head out onto the ice and keep doing the above / fighting the natives until you hit level 10.
  • Ula (Korg’ii Hold) | The Siege of Korg’ii Hold | After rescuing Ula in a cave somewhere out in the wilds, visit Korg’ii Hold in the upper southwest corner. Go floor to floor and talk to everyone on every topic, then leave for at least a day. When you come back, the door guard will tell you that Ula wants to talk to you. Her father’s off to a peace conference with the Milodans and she’s afraid that it’s all just a setup and that they’ll be betrayed; she’s completely right, of course. Choose to save the chief, then rush back to Korg’ii Hold. The leaders have Ula and her father prisoner on the top floor, but you need to sweep every other floor first and rescue all the other members of the tribe, so that they can help you in the final battle (and improve your final score for this quest); ignore any horny Korgonne you encounter. When you’ve swept all the floors, go the lowest floor and take the northwest staircase to the top floor. Sweep every square, but save the chief’s room for last, which is where the final bosses are. Once you’ve kicked their asses, you’re asked to determine the fate of the attacking Milodans, and the old chief renounces his position and makes Ula the new chief. Your rewards are a ton of cash and XP, a Supercharged Laser Pistol, and a Plasma Blade.
  • Syri (Irestead Taxi Station) | Syri’s Quest | This quest will be triggered if you managed to get Syri’s panties before hitting level 9 and then visit the Scout Authority, where you’ll run into her. Stop by The Last Chance and buy a Siegwulfe before leaving on this quest; you’ll need to go back to your ship to pick it up by selecting Storage (I name mine Sig) and then direct it to accompany you. Head down the space elevator and you’ll meet Syri just outside the exit, who will take you to a job interview and then you’ll sneak aboard a transport to a research facility. Inside, you’ll need to head down to the basement and solve the Start the Backup Generators minigame (hit 40% power) – pick Control Unit A (8%), Flux Field C (11%), and Plasma Coil B (21%). Head back upstairs, briefly run into the elevator, then into the Security Office next to it to check the Cameras and then gain Elevator Access. Now you can ride the elevator to the R&D Level. Run into a Milodan Researcher, fight her, then take a brief detour to retrieve Syri’s vagina, which is preserved in stasis. Take the new elevator on this floor up to the Starship Lab, where you run into Dr. Calnor. Try to Talk to him, go through his topics, then Team Up against Valden. You’ll then fight some drones, after which you should Try Peace, and then offer up your Siegwulfe as Valden’s new body. As you both escape, you have to fight the Dropship (you just have to crash its shields), but then you have to fight Commander Schora to finally get away. Now you can all discuss what happened and then have some sexy fun times with Syri.
  • OTHER TIPS: There’s no need to waste critical equipment slots to keep warm when you’re out on the ice. Buy a Slepra Down Bra at Carbonado, the Insulated Briefs at The Last Chance, and then get a Welcome Basket at The Camarilla; all of these stores are on Uveto Station. The Welcome Basket will contain one Thermal Pack (and some other trash you can sell off to Anno), which will last long enough for you to reach Essyra Traders (out on the ice) where you can stock up on 10 to 20 of them. Be sure to pop another one whenever it wears off, and then you don’t need any other cold weather gear (though also getting a periodic heating oil massage from Pippa won’t hurt).
  • BEST GEAR AVAILABLE FOR SMUGGLERS:
Melee: Hardlight Dagger from The Last Chance
Ranged: Black Light UV Laser Rifle from Spinarran Silk & Steel or the Supercharged Laser Pistol from the Siege of Korg’ii Hold
Accessory: Light Jetpack from The Last Chance
Gadgets: Climbing Kit from The Last Chance

Consolidated Map of Uveto with Weather Drone Locations

Tarkus (Take 2)

Person (Location) | Quest | Notes
  • Colenso (Colenso’s Junk) | The Hnngularity | Once you’re level 10, see him for a mission to fight and then scan 4 Sexbots in the wastes (over on the right of the map, near the Taxi station) and then confront a rogue, dangerous AI; try to reason with her. At the end of this quest, you can either keep a copy of the AI, sell it, or destroy it – I personally keep a copy as it looks like there will be content for that choice in the future. While you’re at it, buy a copy of the Joke Book in his shop for your Codex.
  • Azra (Your Ship) | Azra Expedition #2 | She needs to collect some mushrooms this time. The first species is Slutshrooms and you encounter a Double-Goo Girl; they won’t negotiate, so you’ll have to fight them. The second species is Motherhusks and you’ll encounter a Raskvel Broodmother. Break into her patchwork fortress via a Complete the Circuit minigame, then play Lights Out to disarm her defense guns. The third species is Spunkshrooms and you’ll encounter the Sydian Queen, who can kill you. Choose Berate when dealing with her if you want to live (and escape with your loot). Afterwards, you can choose upgrade your relationship with Azra (or not).

Myrellion

Person (Location) | Quest | Notes
  • Lyralla and Nehzara (DMZ) | Get City Passes | You need to talk to these two to get passes to the cities below. Lyralla represents the Council of Queens and will give you a pass to Gildenmere. Nehzara represents the Scarlet Federation and will give you a pass to Kressia.
  • Kara (The Golden Peak) | Distract the Bounty Hunter | She has a big quest available, but for now just meet her in The Golden Peak topside in the DMZ. Distract the bounty hunter Shade (by flirting with her), then she’ll contact you later to help her raid the pirate base on Myrellion’s moon (a dungeon mission). After she ditches the bounty hunter, be sure to meet her outside at the end of the hallway for a 1,000 credits reward.
  • Irellia (Royal Palace) | Stop the Terrorist Bombing | Head to the royal palace (middle south of Gildenmere), talk to Queen Irellia, receive a security radio, then wander around Gildenmere until someone gives you a flyer about a rally in Mushroom Park at 18:00. Show up to the event, call it in, then take off – DON’T try to handle the situation yourself, or you’ll end up getting framed for a terrorist bombing. Wait until you get an email about it before heading back to the palace to pick up your reward from the queen.
  • Xanthe (Silken Serenity) | Unlock Her Sister’s Chastity Belt | Talk to her about the Key to her sister’s chastity belt and she’ll give you her Silk. Take this back to Inessa to unlock her chastity belt.
  • Cousin Jack/Jill (Queen Taivra’s Palace) | The 3rd Probe | In Queen Taivra’s palace in the Deep Caves. You’ll have to kill Taivra – she’s a total bitch and won’t really negotiate, so just shoot her. Also, be sure to take Nova (the Gray Goo Armor) with you in your Inventory, so that she can get an armor upgrade from the Crystal Goo Incubator.
  • Field Marshal Sellera (Manor War Room) | The Federation Quest | This is in the top northwest of Kressia, and you’ll go on a mission to hunt down a rogue warlord queen. After you agree to the mission, head down the middle street to meet Lieve, who will take you to the dungeon complex where the War Queen is holed up. On the 1st floor, go left and spike the drink machine with tranquilizers, then you can search the barracks unopposed. In the middle of the floor, there’s a tank you sabotage with a Complete the Circuit minigame, then you can go downstairs where you can rob a safe for a valuable necklace, and score a crate of Lustoxin. Head back upstairs, go up the other stairs, fight a Gold Officer, steal a code book, and briefly play Han Solo on the radio. Head back downstairs, then fight the War Queen. You can try to convince her to leave, but she’s not having any of that, so just kick her ass. Afterwards, I recommend keeping the code book you’ve stolen.
  • Fazian (The Honey Nozzle) | I Know Why the Caged Bird Dances | Show up between 15:30 and 22:00 and select Curtain, then Pay for several shows until you can talk to Fazian. Discuss all topics and then leave. Come back a couple days later and his show will be closed, so talk to Hepane, who tells you he’s gone missing. Choose to Help him, then you’ll need to question at least 3 people to get clues on where he might be now; fortunately, you don’t even have to leave the club to do so. First question Dally and pay him 250 credits. Next question the Barkeep and play the Good Cop. Finally question the group of Gold Myr and play the Bad Cop. Now go back to Hepane and report your findings. Come back a day later and he’ll tell you that Fazian’s being held captive in Kressia. He’s being forced to perform for some Red Myr in a warehouse on the southeast side, where the easiest way in is to bribe the guard outside. You can burst in and pretend to be the space cops if you want, but either way you’ll have a fight on your hands. Kick their asses and then you and Fazian can escape (along with at least some of the other slaves).
  • Lieve (Kressia) | In Love and War | She has a side quest available, but I haven’t done it yet.
  • Emmy (DMZ, KihaCorp Outlet) | Make Amends | Starting this quest is a bit tricky (consult the wiki). Then you have to keep fighting random encounters or Bothrioc Pidemmes in the Deep Caverns to get gemstones as drops, or just wait until you pick up lots of them from fighting Mining Robots on Zheng Shi. Alternately, you may need to go back to Mhen’ga and into the jungle to pick up a flower for her.
  • Ara Kei (DMZ) | Diplomacy Mission | Talk to it on all topics, then choose Fix? to start the quest. Go visit Dr. Lessau on Uveto to make you a Fake Counteragent that you can use to screw her over and shut down the Bothrioc embassy for good. Don’t bother hunting for any of the Quadommes in the Deep Caves until you have the counteragent in hand, as the last one won’t appear until then. Also, you’ll need a dose of Throbb to give to the last one to get its cooperation for the conference; the easiest way is to get a dose is to just buy one from Penny (or save one from smacking around Bored Jumpers in the mines on Zheng Shi, who drop them frequently).
  • Kara (Navigation Menu) | Eye of the Beholder | This quest will unlock if you helped Kara evade Shade, are at least level 8, and have defeated Queen Taivra. You’ll find Kara as a destination under Fly in your ship, which will take you to a rendezvous with Kara in the nearby asteroid belt where you can discuss her backstory and this quest and then start your stealthy assault of a nearby pirate base. You’ll have to fight a swarm of drones on the way in, and then several rounds of pirates near the barracks to the north to get the Key Card needed to access the R&D Level. Take the elevator up to the lab, where you’ll fight Dr. Khan. After you kick his ass, you can loot the room and obtain his Arc Caster, which is a pretty good weapon. Head to the bottom of the lab and you can have a discussion with an AI named Watson; DON’T hit the Self-Destruct button or Myrellion will become inaccessible after they promptly have a nuclear war in response. Head north, pick up Kara along the way, and then take the elevator up to the roof where you’ll fight the pirate Amara and some goons. After kicking their asses, you can escape with Kara and then have some sexy fun times with her.
  • BEST GEAR AVAILABLE FOR SMUGGLERS:
Armor: Nyrean Chain Armor from Seifyn
Shield: Reaper Armaments Mark I Shield Generator from Queen Taivra’s Palace

Uveto (Take 2)

Person (Location) | Quest | Notes
  • Shade (email to meet her in a bar) | Family Reunion | After Kara’s Quest (on Myrellion), you can meet her and her daughter in The Freezer.
  • Belle (Uveto Station) | Optional Fun | Just for fun, you can put on the Sub-Tuner Collar (found randomly on Uveto Station, so just keep looking for it), and take part in her experiments. After the collar is off, keep going back to her and volunteer for more experiments. Afterwards, use the Save Editor to get rid of the bar code on your butt.

Zheng Shi

Person (Location) | Quest | Notes
  • Arrival | Get Inside Without Dying | WARNING: Be level 10 and as tricked out with gear and supplies as you can before coming here. The password for entry is “Fuck You” – give any other answer and you die right then and there, no second chances. Once inside, you’ll immediately have to fight Urbolg – don’t lose this fight. Afterwards, talk to Urbolg and possibly buy some items he has to sell (like the Jumper Shield).
  • The Mines | Free the Slaves | You need to venture into the mines, fight Overseer Maike (she’s at the top, and I recommend first popping a Focus Pill and repeatedly zapping her with the Custom Shock Gear and using your Stealth Field Generator to evade her attacks. After kicking her ass, use her control unit to free the slaves.
  • The Mines | Fix the Elevator | Head down to the airlock (bottom right side of the mines), assemble the complete Pirate Spacesuit, then do the spacewalk to fix the elevator (and fight a maintenance droid outside).
  • Cousin Jack/Jill (the Scaffolds) | The 4th Probe | This is in the level above the Forge deck (which you’ll need to fight through), in a docked spaceship called The Sidewinder. However, to get inside, you’ll first need to defeat Dr. Teyall (also on this level) and get her keycard.
  • OTHER TIPS: Don’t take the RFID Badge from the Rodenian Mechanic, as fighting the Mining Robots is way too profitable (and they’re easy opponents to beat).
  • BEST GEAR AVAILABLE FOR SMUGGLERS:
Armor: Jumper Jumpsuit from a Bored Jumper (this drops infrequently, so you might have to fight at good dozen of them to get one)
Shield: Jumper Shield from Urbolg

Tavros (Take 2)

Person (Location) | Quest | Notes
  • The Bulletin Board (Residential Deck) | A few mini-quests | Answer the Help and Lessons flyers posted.
  • Sera (The Dark Chrysalis) | Lots to do here | Read the wiki – she’s the most complex NPC of interest.
  • Inessa (Happy Tails) | Unlock Her Chastity Belt | You should now have the key to her chastity belt from her sister Xanthe on Myrellion.

????

The 5th Probe? We’ll have to wait and see.

Distress Calls and Events
  • Event Whorizon: I haven’t managed to do this one yet.
  • Kiro Rescue: Proceed to the top left square and either service her or fix her machine if you're a Tech Specialist; not really anything else to do here.
  • Fall of the Phoenix: Use the Dildo to fix the Flux Coupler, then turn on the ship’s shields. Proceed right and you’ll fight a small group of pirates then descend into the engine room to get the engines back on. To solve the Start the Engines minigame (hit 45% power), pick Ion Chamber (22%), Neutron Accelerator (7%), and Prefire Chamber (16%). On your way back out, stop by the cargo hold and snag a JoyCo Premium Shield Generator (if you don’t have a better one). Then back upstairs to briefly talk to Saendra and you’re on your way again.
  • Fools Rush In: I haven’t managed to do this one yet.
  • Poe A: I don’t really recommend this one unless you’re looking to make drastic and permanent changes to your character as you’ll end up becoming whatever costume you put on, and it doesn’t wear off when the party’s over.
  • The Ice Queen: This one is good to encounter as soon as possible (if you haven’t retrieved the 3rd Probe), as it will give you access to Uveto, where you can get lots of awesome gear. You encounter Zaalt, a smuggler adrift in his ship, the Ice Queen. Ask him about his cargo (do all the question/talking options), then allow him onboard, but choose No Weapons to disarm him first. This is a good idea because his psionic implant soon malfunctions and makes him go axe-crazy. Kick his ass, but then choose to help him and complete the delivery, and you’ll be 10,000 credits richer (and now have access to Uveto).
  • The Kashima Incident: Aka “Aliens for the TiTS Universe.” Take the Cargo Lift to the Command Deck. From there, go to the Bridge, fight the infected captain, and listen to the recording. Afterwards, if you want, you can break into the Captain’s Ready Room and retrieve a Vamp Blade. Then go down the hallway to the MedBay, where you’ll talk to the doctor (select Cure) and then get sent into the Vents. Head for the Officer’s Quarters Deck, but do NOT go to the Engineering Deck or you’ll trigger the abandon ship ending to this quest. On the Officer’s Quarters Deck, crack the safe (a Lights Out minigame) in the Science Officer’s quarters and retrieve the Parasite Sample. After you give it to the doctor, Rest for 3 hours twice and she’ll finish the cure. NOW you go to the Engineering Deck to distribute the cure to the rest of the ship (and fight an infected Commander Henderson).

Other Tips
  • Keep a Climbing Kit and a Hoverboard in your Inventory.
  • Having Savicite in your inventory drastically increases Lust damage in combat. Get rid of it as soon as possible after finding it (sell it or store it in the ship’s safe).
  • To get pregnant, buy a dose of Breeder’s Bliss, but then take dose of Chill Pill after you become pregnant, as it otherwise lasts for 18 days, which is really inconvenient.
  • To get pregnant from Sera, buy a dose of Breeder’s Bliss and a dose of Priapin Medipen from Lerris on Tavros Station. Take the Breeder’s Bliss, but leave the Priapin Medipen in your Inventory. Unless you specifically pick the Breed interaction, no amount of sex with Sera will get you pregnant.

I feel like it's probably important to at least mention Akane's Quest considering it gives you the Akane's Painslut perk (which is still completely broken) and two of the best energy weapons in the game. Even if you don't use them on your Smuggler build, it's still worth mentioning.

Actually, going off of that idea, I would also suggest changing the title to "Gameplay Guide for Smugglers," because the gear you want changes drastically depending on the class you pick and it's not like Smuggler is some kind of "go to" class for beginners or anything like that.

I get if you'd want to make a guide for a game centred on the idea of it being a game where gameplay gets you to other bits of gameplay but this game is uh... mostly about the benis and the bagina.

Tbh, it'd probably be more worthwhile to do a Fetish Guide than just a long-form 'gameplay guide' that doesn't really offer much.

Then again, both ideas defeat the point, really. TiTS is mostly-consequence free, non-committal fun that works best when you don't know anything about it.

This feels more like the OP's personal playthrough rather than a guide.

A guide shouldn't have to go into too much depth, especially for a game where its more about from getting from Sexing A to Sexing B. Not to mention that people will have their own preferences when it comes to individual matters, especially due to the fact that there are two other classes not covered.

Then again, both ideas defeat the point, really. TiTS is mostly-consequence free, non-committal fun that works best when you don't know anything about it.
I guess we just have a fundamental disagreement here. Crunching the numbers and optimizing my character development and play path are at least half the fun for me here. I'm also interested in the overall structure and background of the TiTS universe.

This is either a sex game with some sci-fi elements, or a sci-fi game with some sex elements - I treat it as the latter.

I feel like it's probably important to at least mention Akane's Quest considering it gives you the Akane's Painslut perk (which is still completely broken) and two of the best energy weapons in the game. Even if you don't use them on your Smuggler build, it's still worth mentioning.
Good point. I've never run through Akane's quest, and I probably should so that I can add that in. I need to tweak the date on my laptop or use cheat codes to run through Event Whorizon as well.

Actually, going off of that idea, I would also suggest changing the title to "Gameplay Guide for Smugglers," because the gear you want changes drastically depending on the class you pick and it's not like Smuggler is some kind of "go to" class for beginners or anything like that.
I've also played quite a bit as a Tech Specialist, but my gameplay path remains the same. I could break the gear selection into Smuggler and Tech Specialist sections, but I've never played a Mercenary.

My version is much shorter:
Grind on Mhenga and New Texas until level 8, occasionally sucking dick at Beth's for monies. Beat the fucking shit out of Dane, go to Tarkus and travel between places until Zaalt encounter procs. On Uveto, buy all the gear you need, maybe save scum some money at the race track. Grind until level 10.

With how often people ask where the Rec Deck is, or how to even get on the Sidewinder, I think this can be really valuable and gives us a really easy place to link to. All that's missing are maps.

I've been meaning to get to adding maps. First up is a consolidated map of Uveto with all the Weather Drone locations marked in red, but I was hoping that this could grow into a nice, fairly comprehensive guide. Consider this the first draft - at least it's something to start from.

I'd like to append a few small things to your Mhenga entry:
At Scout Authority base: if you speak to Tanis with a bow-type weapon (Zil can drop 'primitive bows' it just has to be in your inventory you don't have to have one equipped) you can start a conversation wherein he offers your bow training. IMO I would drop everything I was doing the moment I got a primitive bow and head straight to Tanis.

From the wiki:
Upon meeting Tanis in his office, if Captain Steele has a bow equipped, Tanis will comment on it. He will then offer to train Steele in archery.

After Steele trains with him 8 times, Tanis will give Steele the construction plans for concussive arrows.

After Steele trains with him 12 times, the next encounter with him will involve him giving his composite bow to Steele to congratulate.

In addition to all this free shit he gives you any further training can result in
  • 20% chance to slow aim gain of 1, up to 25 or 50% of aim max

Tanis' Bow is probably the best ranged weapon you can get before unlocking the ZK Rifle and will really help when you travel down to the Deep Jungle to confront the robot and claim the Oxonium deposit. Especially since if you do that training you'll get a Concussive arrow special.

Tavros Station:
Beth's Busty Broads: Steele can make money by whoring themselves out here. Females and fem-boys only. No herms, no dudes. If herm/dude Steele will be offered free training and mods to become a femboy. I believe it advances time 7 days and Steele's anal capacity is boosted to 1000 and if they had breasts are reduced to an A cup, vaginas are removed, body thickness reduced, height reduced, penis size reduced.

It may not seem like much money at first, but working at Beth's over and over again gradually unlocks new ways you can whore yourself out and as you perform more depraved acts the pay increases as well. To a point. There's a formula of how pay is calculated at Beth's. But on subsequent play throughs I've found volume of work beats EVERYTHING. Also, eventually you've offered all you can to the place and they're promised to get you into a better contract "one of these days". Signing this new contract results in a (hot) bad end. On my other play throughs I've found it less annoying to just offer usage of Steele's mouth and never going further than that.

Do not be discouraged by the initial cooldown timer working at Beths. The more you whore, the lower it gets until finally:
TiTs_jaded.png

R A M I S (https://wiki.smutosaur.us/TiTS/Ramis)

You can recruit Ramis from Anon's Bar for around 10k. On board she can train everything except AIM and INT. Being on board means Steele doesn't need to move any tiles to rest after a workout, thus making training a lot less annoying than at Ten Ton Gym.
Things to consider: by virtue of being on your ship you can multi-task while training. For example: if you've unlocked Breedwell, you can give semen/take eggs inbetween training sessions.

WAAAAAAH!~ B-but...I don't want to train stats! It's boring!
Shut the fuck up, that's probably why you're getting your ass kicked and looking at a guide, loser.

Thanks! This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping to see on parts I've missed. Let me play through this and I'll get that added in under Mhen'ga.

I was leery of trying this as according to the wiki it can lead to a Bad End if you do it one too many times. Is there a way to avoid that? Also, I consider the real money maker to be beating up Mining Robots on Zheng Shi - that's just a tidal wave of liquid cash.

You can use Beth's to help with money at the start of the game so you can buy the lifetime pass at Ten Ton Gym and/or hire Ramis and get some basic equipment.

If you are still updating this I would like to suggest adding a guide for completing Chaurmine's quest line since I sometimes see comments from people struggling with the merc class and the weapons he gives are god-tier for mercs. I could also propose some merc builds since you don't use the class or builds I've come across for the other classes if you are interested.

Thanks for the info. It'll probably be a while before I get back to TiTS, however, as City of Heroes suddenly just came back, so that's where I'm spending my free time at present.

Your gear recommendations are clearly biased towards smuggler. Also, Dr. Lash bossfight is a thing.

Some thoughts:

From your choice of Warden Shield (4 Evasion, 20 Fortification), I assume you went Melee Smuggler. The Zil Champion Bow has 6 Evasion, and the Shock Bow ('Crazy' Carl at level 6) has 4 Evasion and a passive Stun chance. As Bows, they qualify for Concussive Shot.

In general, if you went for a Melee build, you want either the Light Jetpack or Wings, as they allow you to hit flying enemies with Melee attacks. Lunge at Level 10 Mercenary does too. Having Wings or the Light Jetpack reduces Energy expenditure for ascending/descending from certain places. The Climbing Kit eliminates the Energy expenditure. Personally, I find Wings or the Light Jetpack are enough, saving an inventory slot.

Climbing the Zil Waterfall is easier for Tech Specialists and Mercenaries because they get their Energy Regen ability at Level 4 and 5 respectively. Smugglers get it at 7. As long as you have it, you should be able to regain enough during encounters to make the climb. The real problem is the fight with Kane beforehand, as he has an Energy draining attack. Getting a vial or two of Zil Honey or some Mhen'gan Mangoes first isn't a bad idea. Or you could rest. I don't think the quest is timed.

Modded Yellow Clothes are better than Augment-Weave (10 more Shields, 6 more Evasion). Augment-Weave has 10 Defense, but that only applies when taking HP damage. On the one hand, that should never happen once you get your Shields high enough, on the other, Corona Lord Flamer. I keep a Hirudo Devourer just for her. Sydian Males can hit through Shields too, but there are no Vampiric weapons available when they're relevant unless you sequence break to Uveto first.

I've been testing the Attack Drone Tech Specialist build, now that it's been fixed, and I find it's not anywhere near as squishy as you'd think. Enhanced Dampeners (Level 3, 50% 'vulnerability reduction') and Advanced Shielding (Level 9, 25% Intelligence bonus to Shield Defense, 12.5 at 50 Intelligence) make each point of Shields worth more. Rapid Recharge at Level 10 means any round where the enemy misses or is Stunned/Paralyzed/Blinded or otherwise can't attack heals you for an amount that scales with Intelligence (~20 at 50 Int). I've found that often I don't even have to use Deflector Regeneration or Charge Weapon, and I'm currently using the Reaper MK 1 and Augment-Weave instead of Prototype Pirate and Modded Clothes. I also maxed out Intelligence, but completely neglected to raise Physique, so I'm sitting at 50/3 (so I'm missing out on ~25 bonus melee damage/hit).

Vamp Blade is another good choice for Melee Techs because it strips enemy Shields and gives them back to you, giving you a lot more effective Shields before you'd have to use Deflector Regeneration. It's particularly good against enemies who can regenerate their own Shields or steal yours (Storm Lancer, Slavebreaker, Cyberpunk Security).

If you really need them, Vi on Myrellion sells Shield Booster Mk 2 (restore 100 Shields once/fight) for 460. Tech Specialists in need of a little boost can also buy Daedalus Threads from Xanthe (50 Shields, 3 Evasion, 8 Sexiness, Chest Exposed, 12100 credits) at level 7.

How are you getting to Uveto that early? The Ice Queen distress call? If you wait until after helping Kara with the Black Void base, you can get a broken Psi Amp instead. Granted, it's useless right now, but when player Psionics is added it will be handy, I'm sure. Speaking of: If you picked up Tam-Wolf from the Stellar Tether on Tarkus he can be repaired/upgraded at the Black Void base.

No, you will not miss out on Syri's Quest if you don't get her panties before level 9.

You don't actually need to buy any Freezing Resist underwear. The Thermal Pack is enough. Don't forget the Deluxe (20 Slot) Backpack from The Last Chance.

You don't have to kill Taivra. If you talk to Seifyn you can marry Taivra, or you can just leave after beating her. Killing her gives you her Spear, a Reaper MK 1 Shield and a Satchel of Gems (and moves your personality 15 toward Hard). Sparing her just gives the Spear. Defeating the Princess will also get you a Reaper MK 1 Shield, if you want one. The Princess' only attack does Lust damage and is blocked by Airtight armor.

Don't ignore the value of Airtight armor. The Atma Armor makes you immune to Mimbranes and much more durable against the Vanae, making XP grinding much easier in that part of the Mhen'ga Jungle. There are a lot of Lust attacks that are blocked by Airtight armor, and Armor Defense only applies against HP damage.

Zheng Shi: You can also reach the Forge by finding a Slave Uniform in a dead end on the West most part of the Mines. When you go back to your ship with it in your inventory (it doesn't need to be equipped), you get a one-time opportunity to sneak in with a group of slaves. Afterward, the Cargo Elevator is mysteriously repaired. You can fight Overseer Maike later, if you want. If you do fight her, you don't need to free the slaves right away, you can come back later and the remote will still be there. In fact, releasing the slaves will dilute the encounter pool with Slavebreakers (who have somewhat good drops) and Slave Orgies, lowering the rate of Mining Robots.

The easiest way to trigger Fools Rush In is to exhaust Saendra's Talk options twice, ignoring 'Parents'.

I'm not sure if Savicite increases Lust damage taken in combat, but it does increase passive Lust gain over time.

Ship content will be added Soon (TM), which will limit the number of crew members you can have onboard depending on the size of your ship. The Casstech will probably only have room for 2 or 3.

If you recruit Penny, she won't be able to give you the Pump King Halloween quest, which gives Pump-King's Platemail (50 Fortification, 14 Defense, 40% Electric Resist). Best for Mercenaries, obviously.

No mention of Paige's Yoga? Attending 8 Yoga classes gives the Limber perk (+20% chance to escape grapples). You have to do Hard Yoga once every other week or so to maintain it, though. Recruiting her requires 500,000 credits, but allows you to do Yoga on your ship and lets you into Zheng Shi without metagaming the 'Password'. She also has a Halloween event at her apartment. Recruiting her doesn't lock you out of it.

You can only fix Kiro's machine if you're a Tech Specialist, otherwise you have to fuck her. She can be called for the 'Password' to Zheng Shi if you've rescued her.

When do you suggest getting the Custom Shock Gear from Shizuya? I did it at Level 9 with my Tech Specialist. Come to think of it, you don't mention her at all, just the gear you get from sparring with her. Of note, once you've met her, her ship can occasionally be found in the 'Hangar' on the planet you're on (the 'Hangar' button won't appear if there aren't any ships you can visit, and I don't think she can appear on Zheng Shi). It moves around, though, so she can be a bit of a pain to track down once you're ready to spar with her.

I recommend waiting on maxing stats via Ten Ton Gym or Ramis until you get a suit of Augment-Weave because it doubles Soreness recovery when Resting/Sleeping.

Talking to Syri cycles through her topics, one of which is books. If you haven't done her quest yet, you can hold down 1 until you've maxed out Intelligence (as long as you don't mind telling her you're into SciFi). After her quest, her menu is rearranged, so you can't just hold down 1.

At the very least, max out your main combat stat. Everything else can wait until you get a set of Augment-Weave.

You can, and maybe should, use your level up points for that. If you're a Tech Specialist, your main combat stat is Intelligence, especially if you're crazy like me and took Attack Drone. I don't blame you if you missed my comment that I'd left Physique at 3 while maxing Intelligence and did surprisingly well. I don't even need to use Charge Weapon or Deflector Regen most of the time.

I did, but that is impressive. It's good to know how far you can push a character as long as you focus on your ability to deal damage.

I prefer using the gym and Syri to max stats up to level 10, because then for the next 10 levels I won't need to use the gym, I'll have enough points saved up.

Go visit Dr. Lessau on Uveto to make you a Fake Counteragent that you can use to screw her over and shut down the Bothrioc embassy for good.

Fuck you too, friend.

Seriously though, even if you hate them the ideal gameplay solution is to use the real counteragent so you can get Widow's Kiss.

The Jungle | Treasure Hunting | In the bottom south part of jungle is a valuable Oxonium deposit worth 5,000 credits.

Did this get patched out? The only mention of an Oxonium deposit I can find on the wiki is the one related to Penny's recruitment quest. This makes it sound like you just walk up to one of the map tiles and press a button to get 5000 credits.

It should be on the South side of the Gigantic Rock (the loop) in the lower Jungle. The middle square. There's no Icon for it, but there should be a 'Scan Rock' button.
