Through the badlands (for Woider)

[Reptillicus]

The land of Trium, a dangerous but beautiful place. Here more then just humanity has risen to dominance. In this land some of the animal have over time taken on the shape of man but yet are not. So things like cat and bog people are normal here. But with so many different races living in the same place there's bound to be conflict. And so there was, for many years conflict has gripped the land until one big war ended it all. Now the land is mostly dominated by nature as many cities fell in the great war. Great expanses of wilderness now separate cities and many strange creatures now roam the land in between, they call these expanses the Badlands. It is in a strange cave in the badlands that we find the heroes of this story.

There was a dull ache in Samantha's skull and she felt slightly numb all over. she swished her saurin tail from right to left to see if it was still alright. Then she tried opening her eyes. her vision was blurry at first once it settled she realized that it was rather dim... wherever she was.... WAIT.... Where was here?! She bolted up into a sitting position and looked frantically around trying to get a fix on just where here was. She ran her hand up and down her body and found that her leather armor was missing and so was her sword! "A knight must never be without their sword!", again the old saying bounced around in her head. she was just in her leather pants and undershirt right now her arms and armor had been taken from her... but by whom? After taking a second to look aroud she found that she was actually in a steel cage that was too small for her to stand up in. Fear began to raise up in her stomach she had a bad feeling about this.... She then managed to spot another cage next to her and in the dimness of the cave she could just barely spot someone inside. "Hey! Hey! Over here wake up!", she shouted hoping to wake the person up.

Jade hisses in pain and grabs her forehead. "Owww... what... who's there?" She calls out, a splitting headache burying itself deep inside her head, along with a ringing in her perky ears. "Where am I?" She further inquires, as she tries to look around the dimly-lit cave for the other voice, before locking her eyes onto the other cage.

It seemed to have worked the other had woken up! Now Samantha could see her better and she could just make out that she had canine like ears. "Oh a canis? no wait.. that face is wrong.... half canis? It's too bloody dark can't see for sure....", she thought as she strained to look at her. "Looks like.... a cave of some sort....", she said taking in her surroundings again. The place was lit with a kind light blue glowing moss that dotted the walls here and there. Just how did she get here anyway..... what was she doing again.... Ah yes! she was on her first job outside of the city! she was protecting a caravan of people on their way to a nearby village.... then suddenly the there was a scream and wham she fell to the floor..... and now she woke up here.... "Dammit.... did they sneak up on me?!", she said as she put her first to the floor of the cage.

"Who... are you? I am Jade... Jade... Jade Alan... god-fucking-damnit, my head feels like it's stuck inside a ringing churchbell!" She grits her teeth. "I can't quite tell what... you are, either." She says, digging around for her knife, to see if it's still on her person.

Unfortunately her knife could not be found. Whoever put them inside the cages was apparently taking no chances. "Oh... me? I'm uh, Samantha, Samantha Golyat.", she said as she strained her eyes to try and see down either end of the tunnel they were in. Just then, the sound of marching started coming from the side of the tunnel behind them. In the dim light of the moss they could see the out lines of at least 6 or so creatures moving towards them. Strange clicking and gargled noises could be heard as they closed in around the cages. After taking a closer look Samatha was gasped in horror as she found that they were captured by huge mantis like people!

they stared at them through large red eyes from a vaguely human head shaped head with no nose. Two long antennas topped their heads with long neck holding their heads up high. their bodies were slim and long with too very long arms each having long hook like appendages. Samatha couldn't believe her eyes were these.... no they couldn't be... Mantala?! "Mantala?! I thought t-they were a just a story!"

Eventually they moved past the mining and fucking and came to a rough looking stone building where there cages were put back down. then from the stone building came a large decidedly female looking mantis to look over the cages. So you'd best give up hope and get used to you new life underground sweaty." she said mockingly. She then clicked at her men and the tops of the cages were opened then the hooks came again and they were snagged and pulled out of the cages and held spread eagle. They were then pushed down the path towards a small shallow hole stark naked and chained together by the neck.
