"Hey! You watch your fucking mouth you–!" Seras starts to yell, before Ioras raises her hand. "Calm down, Seras. It's understandable. She does not understand what just happened." Ioras says calmly, as if Phorsaal hadn't just started ranting like a little kid.
Seras grumbles, but backs off, still giving Phorsaal the stink eye.
"Now... Before I was rudely interrupted... I believe I was about to tell you what you were dealing with." She sighs and takes out an old, heavy looking, black, leather bound book before sitting on the floor cross legged.
"Now then... That sarcophagus is just to provide him with an atmosphere that is undisturbed. He will need his full concentration for what is to come. And no, he's not dead. As Seras
quite clearly mentioned, he's in hibernation
sleep." Ioras says. "And the state of sleep is, I presume you know, not one of death." She says sarcastically. Then, she opens the book and starts flipping through the pages.
She stops at the second last page, and turns the book to Phorsaal. "Frankly, I don't know how your human could be this lucky, but..." She taps the page. "This is his power."
Phorsaal sees a stylised picture of a black, snarling wolf, below the words 'The Direwolf' in stylised font. Below, she sees more information regarding The Direwolf.
"The Direwolf, a Class Five Beast manifestation, is one of the most powerful beast manifestations in the Spiritual realm, second only to the Class Five Monster manifestation, the Chimera. It is essentially a piece of the essence of the Alpha Overlord, the god of all wolves. Ever loyal, ever protective, he grants his blessings only to a select few born under the certain conditions and the right stars. People born with this manifestation usually tend to be quite powerful, both physically and spiritually. They are usually very loyal, caring, and always watch out for the family before themselves. They are sticklers for the truth, and cannot be confused for long even with the most elaborate of illusions. At most, they can be delayed for a few seconds by a powerful illusion. They have a variety of abilities and powers in their arsenal, but it is only the carrier who determines what abilities can be used. So far, the ones that have been recorded are:
- Morph: The user can turn into a Direwolf for a period of time. Duration may vary.
- Limb Morph: A more advanced version of the Morph that allows users to change only a particular limb or body part.
- Shadowfall: The user blends into the shadows, becoming invisible. The duration varies from user to user.
- Eerie Howl: The user calls forth the chilling power of the Direwolf's howl to terrify his enemies, filling their heads with images of packs of wolves tearing them to pieces.
- Strength of the Pack: The user can sacrifice some energy to summon forth a wolf spirit to fight by his side. This energy cost increases with each wolf summoned.
- Strength of the Wolf: This is a passive ability, which grants the user more speed, physical strength, and mental strength, as well as grace in combat and tireless endurance.
- Last Run: Another passive ability. If the user is on the verge of death, he can summon a last vestige of strength to go all out in a bid to kill the enemy before he dies. This usually results in the death of the user, as the body cannot support the strain of the overdrive.
- Beastkin: A passive ability that allows the user to contact and understand all animals, including those in other realms.
- Alpha: Wolves of any kind will automatically submit to the user, treating him as their superior.
- Tough hide: The skin of the user becomes tougher and more resistant to cuts and shots, which will not penetrate as deep as before. The user will also heal faster from wounds, usually minutes for deep cuts, and a few hours for broken bones.
Below is a set of notes that have been recorded specifically for the case of the power having to be unlocked:
- There will be loud, fearful growls, the carrier may attempt to attack the caster.
- The user will enter a hibernation sleep after completion of the ritual. Ensure they are put in a distraction free environment.
- In case of the user going Feral, terminate immediately. A loose Feral is extremely hard to stop and/or contain.
- For best results with all Beast Class manifestations, place the carrier in a sort of box immediately after they enter the Hibernation.
- There may be permanent wolfish mutations in some cases.
"Well... There you have it. He's not dead. He's asleep. And very powerful. You're welcome." Seras grumbles.
