The Guldring and Charms

I usually play a Charmer-Summoner build and have utilised the Guldring for spellpower and leadership in the past. What with the changes to Charmer, I'm wondering if it's still worthwhile. What I want to know is, does the Guldring's special power (add half your presence as fire damage to all damaging spells) effect charms, or specifically only spells? Since the damage types aren't listed separately, I haven't been able to be sure. Is anyone in the know able to help?

It's not a very powerful effect, but might help sway me one way or another on keeping the ring.

Contrary to its in-game description, the Guldring doesn't actually add damage to non-damaging powers. What OP could do to test it is use a damaging charm against Lusina or the Mad Psion and see if they get stunned from taking fire damage.
