So I know most of us either go to one extreme of the other, either we play a Pure character or we play a fully Corrupted one. But was wondering if any of you also maintain a character that totes the line and keeps them Tainted? And what reason do you do so whether in game or out of game?

My main Kitsune mage keeps himself Tainted due to his curiosity on how it can be used for his own ends. He knows individuals can function just fine corrupted and it's not necessarily a bad thing due to Aileh, but he also doesn't like how being fully corrupted changes his personality and quickly purged a lot of it to return to his normal state of mind. This let's me play a "pure" character while also touching on some of the corrupted content where other characters get corrupted by him, but not on purpose (in game anyways...). So I get my pure character but get to eat my corrupted cake too.

Any of the rest of you play a grey area character?

whats up I think the corruption mechanic should be removed. its been neglected since the game launched and i have no faith it will ever be integral. all it does is block content, if thats the intent then wow that is shit. i play fully corrupted because often i dont care about the sparse daioluge changes if the outcome is still the same. i dont care about headcanoning to make it feel deeper than it is either

Tainted, it's fun. Gives you more options, both in actions and roleplaying (no problems, in term of roleplay, with keeping around corrupted characters or demons, yay). To my understanding, most options opens on corruption 33, so keeping my characters at 33-35. Praise Cait and her purifying ass, kiss that booty xD
Although I understand why most seems to go with Pure. Considering Pure&Corruption is not Good&Evil. On one hand, going corrupted seems... "punishing"? in terms of content&rewards, on other you can do a lot of BS even as pure character (turning Ryn into buttslut who can only think of sex? Pure enough apparently).

I usually play a bimbo so the corruption doesn't matter but I do have one 100% dark knight playthrough but I do prefer my bimbo scenes.

I go Corrupted not for lewd reasons, but to role play an edgy boi and in hope there will be more exclusive weapons or powers that only Corrupted/Dark Knight characters can use.

Corrupted for me, it's what most of my characters are. I like some of the Dark Knight dialogue, and I'm hopeful for the eventual corruption content pipeline.

Plus corrupted Kasyrra romance is my endgame.

I play Pure, mostly because I don’t really play characters who are into the “Beat ‘em, fuck ‘em” mentality.

Maxing out that corruption on my character but chose the purify route for everything except the stuff that sends more corrupted stuff to Wayfort. I imagine it just looks like Barad-Dur from LotR only with rave music blasting 24/7 and non-stop orgies. Alissa ain't getting a wink of sleep and not in the fun way.

I mostly play pure characters, mostly cause I don't want to lose my character's souls!
and be locked out of said content cause I got someone corrupted.

It's gotten to the point I tend to just RP it as character growth. With my character starting out all worried about it and what it's doing to them. Particularly after "oh so accidentally" going bimbo, only to recenter themselves and largely just zen out about it all after training with Zo. Because at the end of the day... much like said bimbo state itself, "corruption" in this game doesn't seem to actually do much.

Like whatever dark magic is doing it is certainly a plague of evil that needs to be stopped, don't get me wrong, but much the bimbofied PC can still put on their serious and/or thinking cap at the drop of a hat, and does so constantly, about all corruption really amounts to is a drop in inhibitions. Hell, while full demons might all "technically" be psychopaths, much like with actual psychopaths, you still run into plenty that are perfectly friendly and reasonable, not really hurting no one... you know, aside from being carriers to said plague of evil. Like while the wraiths coming from the void seem to lack any real context for coexistence, but the demons are kinda more... eh. Like most of the actual trouble maker demons you come across seem to have been members of the cult even before they turned.

Meanwhile, you and your PC plot shields seem incapable of actually becoming a demon before the appointed time anyway(to the point that after awhile it would be hard not to notice even IU), so... there's not really much reason to care. Particularly given how much busywork is involved keeping it down Vs how quickly it stacks up.

Not really, i did a dark knight character once (100 corruption), the character itself was cool, but a corrupt character personality i found to be boring. You're basically just an bratty edgy a-hole(In contrast to a hard Steele from TiTS per example, which can be a dick but still do some good stuff and act caring, like in the Zil Queen pregnancy i think) it's like almost a cartoon bad guy, you're just being a dick for the sake of it. The only reason for becoming one would be to for the exclusive content really.
