So...where is Steele's mother?

It seems unlikely our mom dipped out after having us(you dont just leave a trillionare husband who chose you specifically to be his wife and your soon to be rich son/daughter)but we never see her and get few mentions of her. Any theories on where she is outside of that being ALOT of coding?

Probably just a surrogate, to be honest. My best guess is that she was paid and now lives a life of luxury, possibly with family of her own.

Vic paid her off, so she's probably leading the good life somewhere in the Core.

One does not necessarily have to make a wholly different character for each species. They could just be reskins of one another.


Also I do want to meet mother dearest if only for her to comment on any modifications we've done to ourselves, possibly having to admit to ones that aren't obvious if we're clothed.

I thought it would be funny. Humorous interactions are really the only thing I can think of coming out of a meeting with mother dearest. There's plenty of ground to cover anyways, with Steele's, ah, exploits.

Well maybe, like if she commented on Steele's femininity without specifically saying "you did that to yourself" it could be kinda humorous and cute.

Depends on how the code would check for differences since character creation I suppose. Ideally if you were always trappy, it wouldn't get commented on but if you went from trappy to more manly it would be. A change in genitals wouldn't be noticed unless our Steele's junk was pretty obvious in some way, be it tight clothing or probably inappropriate lack of clothing to be visiting one's mother in.

Checking for that many differences in the mother is too complicated and no one's going to code it. "Reskinning" sounds simple but you have to make tons of calls for it code-wise.


Personally, I'd have preferred if you just started out Human and ended up...whatever. I'm not claiming CoC's TFs and corruption are better, just that pretty much everyone uses many more items after creation to get their pretty princess/prince, anyway.

Hell it might even end up being like how mass-effect did it, we never saw Shep's mom, but we did get a phone call from her. That way you don't even need to have anything about how she looks, just a conversation over the phone.

I agree with Ted here. I don't think we should meet our mom. What happened to my Steeles before the story started is however the hell I want. The only things that are decided are their basic upbringing, line of work, and father. Everything else is part of my imagination and I'd prefer to keep it that way. 


And as it's been said, it would be way too hard to code. She'd end up very glitchy for a very long time, or very dull.

Yeeaah, I'm going to go with KIS on this one. Other than a few manga level humorous meetings, there's really nothing that meeting Steel's mother could add to the story since it's clear beyond bearing Steele she had no real agency or interaction in Steele's life.

Hah like that one scene that was supposed to come with Bess, as in it was in her Google Doc, at least I'm fairly certain it was Bess from where this scene is from. Anyway it never got added in the official release I think, and I'm not sure why. 



SPOILER ALERT:


The one where Cap'n Steele gets a delivery from Nivas Oxofen for some old porn movies she shot that she wanted Vic to have, which you got for some reason. Well so your character goes to watch them out of curiosity for what ultra-porn the galaxies most famous pornstar makes, and in it you see a crazy as hell orgy going on, and in the center is this tentacle monster thing. Depending on your libido you'd start wanking it to the porn, until one of the participents in the orgy says "Ready Vic?" directed at that same tentacle monster, meaning you were wanking it to your dad! If your libido is over 80 (?) you'd blow your load at exactly that moment all over your dad's image (which was 3D thanks to the hardlight projector). 


Steele then goes on to dispose of the porn while wearing a hazmat suit and makes certain to wash this moment from his mind forever.
