Hate to revive a dead bug, but I'm currently getting this and cannot fix it. There is a similar issue that appears in the "fixed" thread, but there is no provided fix in that thread and it's from 2021.

For my issue specifically, any time I open up the load game or save game screens, I get this error. Further, hitting okay immediately brings this error message back up, and even if I manage to quickly click out of the save menu and into another menu or into the game, the message constantly pops up (I have to spam clicking and enter to do this).

I have done everything I know to do from uninstalling and reinstalling, manually deleting files from the steam directory as well as from %appdata%.
I've verified the integrity of game files. I've ensured I have the most recent update. I've attempted to both turn on and off the steam cloud saves. Steam does not say there is any issue with my cloud saves and no other game has any issues whatsoever. I've waited for updates (maybe a bad update) but no such luck. This error has effectively made this game unplayable to me since January.

Can you post your save with the issue?
I can't post a save because I cannot make a save. I had saves at one point, but when trying to troubleshoot I cleared out all of my saves (along with everything else) just to see if that was something that would fix it.

It did not.

Given that this doesn't appear to be happening to too many other people (other than the one from 2021) wondering if there are any file locations outside of %appdata% and the steam folder that would contain any files that might point to steam cloud save files? I am very willing to completely remove all files and reinstalls, but from what I've seen that does not fix the problem.

For some further context, from the time in which I originally installed this game to now, the location of the game files have changed (I changed most of my steam files from one drive to the next). I have, of course, uninstalled completely and reinstalled since this time but possibly there is something that broke there? I did verify files through steam and that didn't fix it.
