I finally checked out the game and I'm pleasantly surprised. The music, art and writing are all really well done and while I did have a knee jerk reaction to the possibility of Nice Time for Roo I'm happy to know it can be turned off. Now the real question is does disabling Nice Time for Roo also remove the chances of an open relationship? I'm hoping to make Rowand and Alexia become partners with the 2 demons (preferably with not a lot of people slaughtering involved or maybe there's a way to make Andras fuck off. Hmmm....)

Any option that leads to Alexia having any relationship with someone other than Rowan except in a threesome (or more) is locked off when you turn off Nice Time for Roo. Absolutely everyone, regardless of sex or relationship with Rowan.

Personally, I'm hoping there's a way to have Rowan compel Alexia to submit to Andras as part of his plan to make him think he's got a hold on her, but instead she's manipulating him with the intent of Rowan bringing him down. If the only point in having Alexia submit to Andras is so that Rowan can get "cucked", then frankly fuck that shit. I dunno if that's already in the game, I haven't played it for many, many versions and last time I did I didn't try that, but while I loathe Nice Time for Roo I can get behind that for roleplaying reasons.

There's been two backer releases in that time, but we are currently in the middle of overhauling the UI. When that is done, hopefully this month, we'll release a new build with all the content from the last two months.

Welcome to the monthly release update for Seeds of Chaos! While we’ve always updated Patrons on the contents of every release, the way we presented this information wasn’t all that exciting. Since we’re proud of the work we put into the game, we figured it made sense to properly showcase what we do each month.

As such we’ll do a monthly in-depth post that touches on everything we’ve added to the game. Keep in mind that these posts will contain spoilers (but nothing too major).

RELEASE 0.2.30
You may remember that I said a few months earlier that I was temporarily suspending public releases while we overhauled the UI, because I didn’t want to release a public version while it was a work in progress. The good news is, the UI overhaul is now complete (and looks pretty great if you ask me), and because it took three months, the new public release has three month’s worth of content.

As of this month, we’ll be returning to our usual schedule, releasing the previous backer release when we release the new backer version, but for now, enjoy this bumper sized one.

USER INTERFACE IMPROVEMENTS
Almost every screen in Seeds of Chaos has received visual updates and improvements. Listing the changes would bore anyone to death, so I’ll just spam some images to showcase the new direction.

ART
We have fifteen unique CG’s added this month, featuring a ton of characters.

Included are:

- Four with Rowan and his submissive secretary, the elf, Liurial
- Two that feature Alexia with the wulump, a tentacle beast
- Three CGs of threesome fun featuring Greyhide
- Indarah, the tavern owner, in her first CG
- And more!

NEW EVENTS
Due to the amount of content in this release, it would take too long to list everything, but importantly, the update includes fourteen new sex scenes. We’ve also finished off all the content for the narrative related to Helayna’s escape from the castle - Rowan can now choose to help her escape, and the punishment for Alexia if she is caught now includes four weeks in the dungeons (each with its own sex scene), and the option to have Rowan punish her instead. For those of you who choose to keep Helayna at the castle, we have also added ruler events that deal with the aftermath.

We’ve also added more new ruler events, new events to the Orciad explore pool, allowing you to learn more about the camp, as well as a number of new resource events for villages, mines, and abbeys, including a sex scene featuring a nun, which is sure to be the first, and not the last!

That’s it for today’s update! If you haven’t played Seeds of Chaos for a while, the game now receives monthly updates for backers with at least five CGs and fifteen thousand words of new content, and includes:

- Over three hours of linear game play, with more including optional content
- Over two hundred and fifty thousand words of content
- Over seventy Ruler events, over forty map events, and over fifty resource events
- Over sixty sex scenes
- Five choosable jobs for Alexia, each with their own unique events
- Over ninety unique CGs (and over one hundred and sixty including variations)

Only thing that I, because I'm weird, dislike is having too many options related to sex scenes. Basically I would have liked a mix between forced/avoidable/optional.

Forced being a few scenes that you can't evade in any way, avoidable being scenes that you can evade under certain conditions (like luck, stats, circunstances...) and optional being scenes in which you have absolute control whether you want it to happen or not.

My favourite scene in the game is when you have to choose between killing or not killing the elder, both are bad choices but it shows that in this world not everything will go your way.

People have extremely diverse tastes and interests, so we cannot safely assume that any content we make will be enjoyable to everyone who might want to play the game. The only solution is to make all sexual content optional.

This is unfortunate for people who like forced content, but there's no way to cater to that audience and a broad audience at the same time. Forced content basically has to be in a game that's dedicated to that fetish and is only intended to be played by people who're into that fetish.

Thanks for the compliment on the elder scene. I'm glad that the storytelling is at least engaging, even if the sexual content can't be.

Personally what I'm doing in the game is:

-If the escape towards the sex scene makes no sense I treat it as forced (in the sense that I choose the option that generates it). For example at the start, I don't think that if I was Rowan I would try something so risky as to see Alexia when it was banned and Alexia without having any knowledge towards what happened with Rowan she would accept Andras at the start.

-Depending on the circunstances (basically who I had sex with in that walkthrough) I treat some scenes as avoidable, if it makes sense that sex scene in my playthrough I take it, if not I will refuse it, under this rule it depends if I make Rowan more or less lustful and sex-hungry. Basically I imagine a tiny profile for Rowan for that playthrough, what would excite him, his willpower...

-The rest of sex scenes (basically those that I can't 100% link it to circunstances or characteristics of my playthrough) I take them as optional, depending just on my mood.

We just released version 0.2.35 to our backers, which focuses on our first recruitment narrative, the Orciad. In this ongoing event, the player must recruit a large tribe of orcs by deciding which potential ruler to support; the current aging chief Ulcro, the young violent upstart Batri, or the conniving and underhanded female Tarish.

We have completed three routes, each with their own outcomes and sex scenes, and that release will be available to the public at the end of the month when the new backer release is ready. For now, as usual, we are making the previous release, 0.2.34, public.

Although, yeah, I probably wouldn't have found this game if it wasn't erotic, you might be selling yourselves a little short. I'll throw you guys a compliment in that this is the first primarily erotic vn/game I've ever played where I actually found the story and gameplay side of things to not only be pretty intriguing, but dare I say pretty damn good. Almost all of these games are usually either erotic literature databases with some useless gameplay throw in to give it artificial depth (CoC/Tits), or super alpha little projects that some single guy works on for a few weeks to make his own personal poorly-written fetish playground. You guys though have actually managed to make a pretty good little narrative that stands up pretty well against Tyranny as far as good 'play as the villian' rpgs go. The base-building and castle management give a pretty good sense of progression, all while synergizing well with the character stories and sexual content by sprinkling them throughout it. And for the most part the characters are pretty alright, they all seem to have their own motivations, they don't railroad the PC into forced linear choice pathways, and they generally don't feel like they exist only as a fetish vehicle. I'm actually really eager to see where their stories go and how I end up building my empire.

This could be a pretty damn good little $10 Steam VN if it wasn't a free project. Even in it's current early state it's far better than the majority of the content in that category.

While I got your attention and softened ya up with some praise though, I do gotta criticize the CG's. Specifically Momdadno's, they're just way out of spec with the core character sprites. Most glaring is Rowan who is presented as a Gutts type muscular hero, but looks like an anime schoolboy once a sex scene starts; all the females have pretty much identical bodies, I'd assume at least the orc female would be different; Alexia is described as hairy early in the game and Helayna has a visible pubic bush on her sprite but both are absolutely clean shaven in the CG (and really, they should all have at least something there if this is a dark fantasy medieval world, Casca did afterall). Additionally X'Zaratl appears to have balls in her first CG but then has a clitdick after (and I do hope not all of the game's futa content is going to be clitdicks only). But even besides specifics like that, it's also just far too lanky and cartoon anime-y in general, I think the newer tentacle scene has a much more theme appropriate style. Not to shit on you Momdadno if you happen to read this, you draw draw well and do great shot arrangements, it's just often off spec and style inappropriate for this specific game.

Overall I think you guys need to get some solid character spec references drawn up based around the sprites and nip the problem in the butt before a whole game's worth of CG is already made up. Maybe this has already been discussed to death and plans already drawn out, but I thought I'd mention it anyway as it's been the only big "It's great... but" aspect of the game for me. And really, it is a great eroge and surprised the hell out of me.

We’ve just released version 0.2.36 to our backers, where the main focus for the month was adding the final path to the Orciad narrative - rescuing the captive Lady Eleanor Delane. In addition to the Orciad content, we also continued working on our Fey narrative, which sees Rowan having to choose between two opposing factions; the shadowy Midnight Court, and the bestial Red Sun Alliance.

As a result, the previous backer release is now available to the public, with the following routes finished for the Orciad:

- Supporting Ulcro by convincing Lady Delane to be his concubine
- Supporting Batri by corrupting Lady Delane to be his slut
- Supporting Tarish by providing her with Lady Delane, and the tools to outsmart Batri and Ulcro

This month we have five new CGs for you, four by momdadno, and one by Sommelier, covering a variety of different fetishes.

Included are:

As the main focus is the Orciad, the majority of event content this month focuses on events that occur in the camp. These include more interactions with Lady Delane, the climactic battle between Ulcro and Batri, and post-battle celebration scenes for all three potential leaders.

Also included are five new sex scenes, all related to the different paths you can take in the event.

You guys gonna make a wiki? Getting a little difficult keeping track of characters.

So, I tried playing the game again for the first time in many versions. Few things I thought I could mention:

1) Couple of typos and errors in the text. I most-recently noticed that during the footjob scene with Jezera, she apparently has violet "souls". I also noticed you seem to have confused "conscience" (personal sense of morality) with "consciousness" (awakeness and awareness of one's surroundings and situation), "hoard" (store of treasure) with "horde" (massive, undisciplined army) and in the forging scene after the event where you receive bonus iron, Rowan picks up a hot plate with a "pair of tongues" (ouch). You just need to have someone with really good English (I don't just mean natural speaker, I mean properly educated) sit down and go through the entire script with a fine-toothed comb to pick out all the little mistakes. Maybe not a priority right now, but something you should do eventually.
2) Cla-Min's shop and Greyhide's forge shop are useless. The interface is absolutely godawful- you can't see what the items you're buying even ARE until you've already bought them and they're in your inventory (right-clicking them in THEIR inventory just brings up the game menu as usual), their icons are actually miniaturised images of their description popup (basically a white square with a couple of flecks on it) and you can't even see their prices. The one-click buy and sell thing can make for a lot of wasted money, and you can't even see how much gold you have while in their shop window. Needs a COMPLETE redesign.
3) Descriptions of stuff is too vague for what is actually an in-depth strategic game. What benefits, exactly, will you get from researching Opulence as opposed to Survivalism and Cartography? It feels like I'm making of the mission-critical decisions almost blind.
4) This is an almost-universal issue with RPGs that have significant choices, but it's difficult to gauge intent behind choices. I'm not very far through the game yet so I don't know where a lot of this is going, but I find it hard to make choices I can be confident in. This time through, I told Alexia to have sex with Andras, with the intention of having her seduce and undermine him while he thinks he's seducing her, setting him up to fall. When given the choice between having Alexia move in with me and staying separate, I chose to stay apart with the intention of facilitating this plan further, thinking that Andras might not take Alexia into his confidence if she's too visibly remaining close to Rowan. Problem is, I don't know whether or not Alexia got the message- I'm trying to tread the fine line between "Alexia helps Rowan bring Andras down" and "Rowan abandons Alexia", but I don't know where the line IS, or whether it even exists (judging from how contemptuously Alexia consequently treats Andras, I suspect I'm pursuing a story direction that simply doesn't exist, more fool me). Maybe I'm just screwing up. I don't really have a clear indicator of what the implications of my decision are from Rowan's POV, which is a problem because Rowan is the character I'm roleplaying as.

During a replay with the last public version 0.2.35 I would like to highlight the gold income problem ... I know the reconstruction hasn't finished but just to mention the income from the villages isn't enough to cover the expenses and maintenance of the castle so as you upgrade it you end up loosing gold. Sure as the progress is going caravans can balance the problem or maybe a small increase of the gold that the villages are paying, even many of the upgrades they don't need maintenance cost just the construction one.

Is the Orciad path with the female orc (sorry forgot her name ^^') not yet in the game?
I have the nobles trust, prepared her escape, bought the poison but can't talk to the demoness for the controlling help..

Also, the CG artist (Did they bring in a new artist? I haven't been following) doesn't seem to be on the same page as the writers. During the scene where you fuck Liurial, the text notes that she's not wearing any underwear... when the CG that is already on the screen has Rowan obviously fucking her through her panties (which you could already see on her base character model through her translucent dress). That's silly. One or the other should have been changed to match (presumably the text as it's easier to change than art).

RELEASE 0.2.36
We’ve just released version 0.2.37 to our backers, where the main focus for the month was preparing for next month’s major story release, the introduction of the game’s first city - Rastedel. It was more of a mixed bag than the past few releases though, incorporating a little bit of everything - relationship events, ruler events, map events, job events, and more.


In version 0.2.36, now being made public, we focused on adding the final path to the Orciad narrative, rescuing the captive Lady Eleanor Delane. In order to achieve this, the player must put work into planning the escape, and if things go wrong, it can lead to a tragic ending.

In addition to the Orciad content, we also added more content for our Fey narrative, which sees Rowan having two choose between two opposing factions; the shadowy Midnight Court, and the bestial Red Sun Alliance. In addition, we added three more events that introduce characters you’ll be seeing more of in future.

Since we hit the pledge goal for six CGs, this month we have four new CGs by momdadno, and two by Sommelier, covering a variety of different fetishes..

In addition to Orciad content, we also have three new Fey narrative events, as well as two new Ruler events, three new Room events, and a new maid Job event for Alexia.
