Like everyone said, Cait gets the most out of it but I have it on my Frost Paladin character for the vibes and also the corruption

To clarify, this isn't going to negatively affect cait in some way later is it?

I claim it. My goal in the Knot Cave is to seize authority over the corlupes, as the start of my champion's jarldom. Claiming Asgeir's shiny mcguffin is a good show of dominance. It also is really good for my build.

I'll just say that while I didn`t take Rimescore away from him cuz i like him still being strong when he joins me, I love seeing Savin say that there is going to be a real corrupt path for Cait

Thought I was being clever leaving it and trying to Mirror Stance at least one ability off the boss. Disappointed that you can't (maybe that can change in later builds?). Didn't save scum because I don't care enough about corrupting either Cait or Drifa and I wasn't impressed up to that point with Cait's ice set.

I mean, Giving it to Drifa is somewhat pointless since you can corrupt her enough with the two other choices given to you on the dungeon, and keeping it yourslelf can be nice for a few builds, but honestly there are better weapons out there. Leaving it in the boss hands isn't an option (totaly because plot significance, not because he became too strong and two tapped all of my characters, definitely not that). So, i guess Cait gets the most out of it in the end

Did my game glitch or something? Or did you try it below max level?

The elves aren't going to decide what to do with it later?

Tbf its available quite a bit before max level would be expected, iirc the recommended level is around 5

I just wondered because I didn't notice any particular bite at max level, either. Another example for level caps on versions, I suppose, though I wish they would XP pool TiTS style. Less of a waste of fights and quests.

Yes, corrupt Cait would do things that regular Cait would never do such as settle down with one partner, marry you, raise children ... wait a minute.

I left it with Asgeir, but not really out of choice.

I talked to Olivia about the spellslinger(?) after meeting the frost-spirit-duo and defeating the other captains. She agreed to let me use it and told me how, but when it came time for the actual battle? I couldn't find any option to put it into play, so Asgeir kept it the entire fight.

I didn't have any option to unbind it or break it after the fight finished, either, so... Aesgir must still be hanging onto it in the Wayfor dungeon.
And the frost-spirit-duo, I guess they must still stuck down in their frozen mine room? I didn't have any chance to do anything with them after the fight, either.

Is the spellslinger an item? My inventory was full when Olivia agreed to let me use it, so maybe the game just never gave it to me after I spoke with her.

Or did I need to visit the frost-spirit-duo again after Olivia agreed to let me use it, but before confronting Asgeir?

I'm pretty sure you're supposed take the weapon before going after Aesgir.

You have to use the spellsinger BEFORE entering battle with Aesgir. Once you obtain it from Olivia, head to the room you meet the frost spirit duo, and there should appear a choice to retrieve grimescore (can't remember how the button looked, but it's the same one that appeares blurred when you still haven't gotten your hands on the spellsinger. Once you press it, you break Aesgir's link with the weapon, and you get the choice to either destroy it (removing it from the game) or keep it, which lets you do either choose to keep it yourself (not the sword itself, but one of it's three iterations), give it to Drifa (changing her moveset from a level 5 white mage to a level 7 black mage and adding to her corruption count) or give it to Cait (upgrading her basic attack and otter stats on her various sets)
Is the spellslinger an item? My inventory was full when Olivia agreed to let me use it, so maybe the game just never gave it to me after I spoke with her.
The spellsinger is also not a normal item, it goes directly to the key items section of your inventory (uppermost rigth corner button on the console while checking inventory)
