You want us to play the game. Fair enough.

But you need to realise that isn't good enough. You want to sell this game, you need to give more. You need to tell people what they are getting into, what tastes this game is catering to; for example, a het-heavy game wouldn't appeal to gay or lesbian players. Likewise, if there's a lot of tentacle action, there are people who love that and maybe far more who don't.

You want to sell this game, you need to catch people's attention and just posting a picture and a link, then telling them to "just play the game" will not do that.

Yeah, it's basically a rule in this forum that when you post your game you list the pairings and kinks. If you're going to flatly refuse to do so even when directly asked just to be defiant then you might as well just fuck off, because nobody cares.

I mean, why would I even WANT to download the prologue? It looks like absolutely nothing special and you refuse to tell me what I'm getting into, so no, I'd sooner just go play other games.

Look at it this way, humans have insanely complicated sexualities and a huge number of adult games they could try. There isn't enough time for them to try everything, so they'd prefer to try things they're more likely to enjoy. Fetishes and pairings are one of the best ways to give that information. Even if the game told me nothing about it other than that information, if it happened to include something the perspective player is really into and give it a shot anyway.

Personally, I've been burned too many times in the past trying games that ended up being huge turn offs that might even make me feel ill, so I'm not willing to take a shot in the dark anymore on anything. Surprising your player is one of the absolute worst things you can do in an adult game.

This is why asking for a list of fetishes and pairings is probably my most common post on these forums by far. It's far past time that what is effectively a rule be made an official rule IMO, but regardless, it's very important to be aware of the mandatory sexual content in the game beforehand, at the very least.
