So according to the background and nature of Kitsunes they will always produce full-breed offspring even when mating with someone of a different race. What I'm curious about is that by entering into a contract with Keros the PC should have turned into a full fledged Kitsune so why aren't their offsprings Kitsune by default but rather the race of the partner? Is this intended or is it an oversight?

Intended. Read the dialogue carefully when you accept the offer.
Hmm so it's either because of the portal shenanigans that caused the PC to be susceptible to TFs or the fake soul that was implanted into them right or am I missing something?

You ain't a kitsune. Since your soul is not connected to communal soul that they posses.
So you are basically Keroses sponsored cosplayer. You are sexy fox in name and skin only. Not in the spirit. So, the only way for you to have kitsune children is to have sexual intercourse with another.

So any use of TFs changing your original species is surface change only? Now that makes more sense when my PC took Keros offer before meeting Kiyoko in the astral plane and she didn't acknowledge PC being Kitsune.

Characters don't generally acknowledge TFs because it would be a massive pain in the ass. That said, divine TFs actually do have an impact on the narrative, but Kiyoko's introduction predates the addition of Keros' offer by a considerable margin and so it wasn't written to account for it. The Observer has said that it's something he plans to fix one of these days but it's not a high priority.

Although i don't see it that way, i guess so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I imagine that once the campaign is all over, their soul will be then moved to the oversoul (forgot what the actual name was) instead of being kept for safe keeping with Keros, and they will finally be considered a fully fledged kitsune, being able to have kitsune children with different people and all, which would happen only in the end of the game, if the developers decide they want to do that. For now however, the way things are it's a really nice way to avoid complicated shit while designing the game while also making cool lore, so everythings is as how it should be.

Alternatively:

CoC/CoC2 and its sea of souls or oversoul or whatever is actually a Final Fantasy reference where everyone that dies gets returned to the soul stream, yadda yadda gods and eidolons, bad guy trying to suck the planet's life energy out etc etc.

Keros gives you a convincing soul substitute which is intended to a) make sure you don't feel the kitsune's need to feed on others and b) make sure Kas doesn't realize you don't have that tasty tasty soul anymore.

So basically you'll be a real kitsune when Keros takes his substitute back and adds your actual soul to the communal oversoul. Since that will only happen after Kas is defeated chances are it's epilogue stuff. In the meantime you can tend your floof kid(s) and learn some stuff about their writing/language/culture. Keros apparently didn't just implant the knowledge since the thought of champ struggling through the lessons seemed amusing to him. Hopefully the whole high-speed learner thing will kick in or you'll be stuck there a while.

This is all assuming that nothing weird happens with your soul in the meantime that renders it non-absorbable or something. Though I admit it would be funny if Keros struck a bargain with you only to find he can't actually use your soul for anything.

A long time ago i asked about that (don't remember where or exactly when), and if i remember correctly, this isn't happening actually. I think it just wasn't on tobs' plans or interests to write it.

Who needs to learn proper culture etiquette when you're a fleshy neural-net processor walking around and massacring demons? Also wolves.

The author of that content seems to like having the champ be an outsider looking in who has at best only partially integrated into that society even if we make an effort to do so. It is unlikely we will do something like find the time to sit down and learn their language until after the story ends.
