Why is the race menu weird? Like I’m half human and kaithrit, but I have genes in all races, how is that possible?

The "genes" are actually a point-score system the game uses to determine which race you are, and it just so happens that a lot of races have some very generic things that count towards their score (e.g. being above a certain height, having a human face).
Racial Score.
The other issue is that Gedan removed most of the score decreases, so now everything counts for everything. It used to be most races would have a score of 0 and not be shown.

Certain characteristics used to actually decrease specific racial scores.
For the galbani, iirc less than 4', green skin, long ears, green or blue hair, large breasts, hips or ass, all count toward the score. Where as with the older system being over 5' I think would remove a point from the gob score. That said the wiki has an old break down of what counted for what but we all know that's taking a while to be updated.

Yeah it should at least I think it did under the old system and likely should now. As a rule of thumb for this if you aren't interested in the wiki link up top, if a TF for that race could result in something I most likely would add score. So race perks like Honey Pot or Myr Venom will up either Gold or Red Myr score while both will up Orange without decreasing the others. Same with the Laquine tease boosting scent perk.
I still think this new system isn’t as good as the old one, and if this is how they want it fine, I just wish there was a option to change it in the editor
Same. At the very least, I think there needs to more -1 race score traits added, rather than have them removed. There are a number of races that are way too easy to count as with the new system, which can be frustrating (eg. Amazon, Red Myr, etc).
