Psionic Shielding VS Psytuned Vitality.

Personally, I prefer Psituned Vitality because it synergizes better with Psychogenic Vim. It also synergizes with other % heals like TIKA or Medical Milkers.
I think Psionic Shielding synergizes better with Vitality Siphon because it provides an additional buffer = your level each round reducing the amount you have to heal. Theoretically, Vitality Siphon gives unlimited healing, but I think it's Energy regen is way too low to be practical. Maybe it's better now that Entropic Leech scales? Kineticist does have Debris Field for Blind.
However, I have two Kineticists and the one with Psionic Shielding is doing just fine.

Depends on your build, because the primary reason that Psionic Shielding is viable is because of the ability to dodge and stun locks. Without it, all you effectively have is a +13 damage mitigation, which really isn't worth it against most enemies.
