I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE ART USED FOR THE ENEMIES IN THE GAME. THEY WILL BE REMOVED IN THE FUTURE IF I CAN GET AN ARTIST.


“There exist many legends about the ancient land of Ingram. Tales of a great tower looming over all those below. A powerful demon who kidnaps young maidens and turns them into a shell of their former selves. A reign of evil that had spread to the farthest reaches of Ingram’s borders. These legends have attracted many brave adventurers to the forsaken land. None have returned. Soon Astir became more than just a fabled place of adventure and loot. It became something of a myth, a place only fools dare venture into blindly seeking glory. You must be quite the fool to find yourself on the same path. Quite the fool indeed.”


Mephisto’s Tower is a massive RPG made in RPG Maker MV. The game is heavily inspired by Corruption of Champions and seeks to add on to the already existing system. The game is going to focus on exploration as well as dungeon crawling and loot. Some of the ideas I have planned are very large and most of them are end game. However I also have ideas to help make the base game interesting, but I will more than likely need a little help to get this game off the ground. I have a list of my current goals.

So I finally found some time to sit back and work on this beast. We still have a long road ahead but I gave you a few things to play around with. What I would love to do with the next update is really develop the combat system and balance it. Because randomly putting in numbers will only get me so far. If any of you have experience with combat systems please let me know.

Massive is right - 1G for a pre-alpha demo? Does this have the entire image and audio libraries available for MV? 300M and 600M respectively...I'll try it and see...

As many as I can fit in. Probably as much as CoC. Its something I have to plan down the line.

It must have a lot of boning if the demo is that huge.

another obvious question. Probably won't matter but I know some games allow you to choose which fetishes you want to see in game and what you don't want to see. I know this would probably work a lot better in a text based game engine, but I recall there were a few games made with RPG maker that allowed options for which fetishes were allowed and or not allowed.

I will probably go about it the same way CoC did and do those choices in game, so you can opt out of a scene and that will activate a switch that disables certain scenes. I also may invite people to write content for the game later on, because lets be honest their may be a fetish that I am not good at writing for.

lol what exactly were you thinking? a battle system similar to the Ys series of games? freeform combat? or were you trying to emulate something more along the lines of CoC, TiTS and FoE?

The idea I had was a turn based system where you the player can spec into different stats for different builds, allowing for replay value. Then there is also three different casting types depending on your style. Stamina would be all physical, Mana for magic, and Resolve for support abilities or just downright strange ones. And of course Lust will be a mechanic, but I might tone it down so it isn't too easy to tease enemies into submission.

Teasing enemies into submission? Sounds more like it should be teasing enemies until they get so horny they have to leave to "take care of business". One idea I'd suggest is to tease them until they go berserk with lowered statuses like dramatically lowered defense and hit rate? That would be awesome. Reminds me of a tactic that always worked for me as a kid. I didn't get bullied all the time after I learned that teasing the bullies into losing their shits ended up with me pounding their heads into the pavement. LOL

Definitely going for variety. Some NPCS will probably have their own gender preferences, others just won't care.

If anything I'm looking for code work since I have to build a battle system from the ground up. I am not terrible at writing, but I will always be open accept content submissions as development progresses.

if the game is already 1 GB without much content it sounds like you need to compress image and sound files. Never use .bmp images or .wav sounds. Always compress those types of files or your game will end up being like 50 GB.


So anyway what fetishes are you planning?

Wish I knew code. I learned some spanish, french, and italian back in the day. How hard is learning code compared to learning a foreign language? I've been told its comparable.

Learning a new way to say one word like "puerta" in spanish for "door" in english is an easy association for me to make. However, the difficulty in me learning the latin-based languages is in the how the verbs, tenses, and pronouns change the nouns and verbs. That gets my head spinning. My cousin says learning to program is like a native english speaker trying to learn a horribly butchered version of a foreign language like chinese or italian. :shepicide:


You could head over to the Shark's Lagoon Projects forum for artists and programmers. There's quite a few swimming around in there.

Yeah, I know a bit of Python 3, and I know a little bit of Javascript, but not nearly enough to code a battle system. Also I'm glad you are looking forward to the next few updates~!

Played the demo now. It is impossible to progress as you cannot heal at any point. I managed to save scum my way to the tower guards but no dice.

After losing to them, ms pink girl showed up and said she'd be at the bar if you need her.  I was hoping that meant I'd have access to a healer, but she wasn't actually there anymore, lol.  I should mention that the prologue had a number of typos in it, but it *is* an alpha demo so...

I'm working on fixing a few things. For starters in the next release, encounters will be on the map. Potions can be bought at the Inn and General Store. Deaths will bring you back to Dark Creek.

1. It doesn't right now. I lost to an Imp and it gave me a gameover.


2. Not technically with Javascript, but I can handle what you need for RPG Maker quite well, especially with a lot of scripts out.
