Pining over Zaalt

Frist off, apologies if I have put this topic in the wrong place, first time posting and all that.

I really want to commend whom ever is responsible for the writing on Zaalt. Even though we have not seen that much of him, what has included so far was a lot of fun (not to mention that he hits all my buttons simultaneously, like seriously holy crap). Thanks for that.

On that note, is there any more material planned for him and if there is, will it be available to those who did not let him do the chip trade off?

Thanks and cheers!

Thanks ^_^

I'd be up for doing more Zaalt content at some point, but I'm way too swamped by other projects to even think about committing to it right now.

I didn't care too much for Zaalt. I really only noticed him for attacking me and for the game describing him as big to my 10' half-dragon dickgirl despite him being 6'5

Zaalt seems pretty interesting.  I'd love to see him expanded, maybe with a full ZaaltQuest down the road.   If nothing else, i feel like we're overdue for the opportunity to sex him.

Proof once again that player height needs to be given a ceiling of at the very most 7'3".

Wouldn't that take away some creative freedom? And I also noticed that comparison tends to happen a lot. It's like every NPC that is described as being "big" or "buffed" doesn't take into account that your PC may be as big if not bigger. I find it annoying sometimes when my 6"9 PC reacts to a 6"5 NPC like a 5"9 female, or gets amazed by the guys on new Texas when he is as built as they are.

Are you capable of linking these two thoughts together? Can you maybe fathom what the problem is with giving PCs the creative freedom to have an incredibly outlandish body that would be immediately noticeable as such, and would fundamentally change how you interact with the world? Go on, I know you can do it. Have a think about why writers don't like centaurs and genderless while you're at it.

Well due to share reason PC max height is 10" that Gold myr queen we interact mostly is 11" tall so she will always been 'taller' that PC xD

About this with Zaalt it's just...I think it wasn't added variation to scene accounting for situation if PC WiLL be actualy taller than him. I recall some writers accounting for npc and pc height difference so it's not like we need solve issue by limiting pc height to around 8"

one can use galomax to hit 12' and then the spess marine costume to hit 13'

Oh boy even 13'. But seems it not yet so noticable issue with height breaking limit that was supposed to be set before or just devs not get to work for fix for it. And if we talk about fixes like those I bet it would be Jac00 faster making this then devs (which as expected would work on new conted and more serious bugfixing).

As for now sitaution I feel making slight adjust for Zaalt scene to say he's big when he's smaller won't hurt. Unless Savin had some other not revealed ideas when writing this part of scene...

...and talk about limiting should we want to continue find it place in other thread, aye?

If you had your way we would just be stuck playing as (possibly sissyfied) Plain Jack with our microbots reverting us back to human form after every TF. And told us that we should be grateful for it  :smugdog:

That's not fair at all. I hate Victor.

Really? Don't know how I could have missed that, unless you didn't bring that up before.

Edited my post, main point still stands. You can hack away at the character altering options all day and still there will be be of instances where some of the remained options will get overlooked. So the main question transforms into: how much stuff written for thing A can justify its existence? I'm quite content with what the current devs' answer seems to be.

The only way I personally would be on board with cutting back on a lot of character customization options is if the remaining ones would become mandatory inclusions for every bit of content. Which probably won't happen unless the number of variables would be an order of magnitutde smaller than what we have now. Even then there is a matter of not wanting to write for a certain fetish...

Understand that by "paring back" we mean no nudists, no genderless, no taurs/driders/nagas.  We don't mean "no more building your furry self-insert", just cutting out the options that require dramatic changes to content.

That just ... makes me feel sad. I personally love these little bits, its one of the reasons I love messing with TiTS so much.

When you think about it, every conceivable aspect of the world has to be changed for alt bodystyles.

Actually, it would be logical to presume that your personal Z14 would be designed to be ajustable. Generally, that was one of the reason for leithans - they are common enough to consider large tauric creatures when you are designing things. And they are not the only weird creatures in the TiTS verse, so ajustability everywhere is expected. And, mostly, it is assumed that "ajustment" for taurs is mostly "remove the chair and lay a mat to let them sit on their own tauric half". Though also it was one of the reasons why I've included chakat into my TF - felines are known to be experts in being comfortable in weird poses, and most scenes which would make sense for 8ft humanoid would make enough sense for 5ft feline taur, even if it would require some show of flexibility :)

I honestly think the only things that need to be pulled back are the dramatic bodystyle changes. You could still have NPC encounters and races dedicated to macro/micro/taurs/nagas/drider/tentacle monstrosities/whatever else, but allowing the PC to adopt that form is a nightmare. It's also immersion and continuity breaking no matter how you slice it.

When you think about it, every conceivable aspect of the world has to be changed for alt bodystyles. Like with Aislinn, I have to write at least four completely separate scenes to cater to taurs because they can't sit in chairs, and every single time I mention the PC's lower half I have to consider nagas and goos. I've noticed that it's been driving me to be vague and nondescript, but I don't want to do that. I feel like that's a cheap workaround that hurts the majority of the content. Even beyond my own work, though, stuff just doesn't line up. How does a tauric Steele fly the Z14, a ship presumably designed for bipedal humanoids? Short answer: handwaving. Long answer: they can't, or somebody has to write a convoluted justification about how all mass-produced ships come with absurdly adjustable seating, control schemes, and general interior design to cater to pilot variance.

Everything in the universe has to become this obtuse blob of circumstance-conforming whatever in order to allow the PC to take on forms other than bipedal. Sure, when you go to "taur world" or something maybe bipedal PC's won't fit comfortably in things, but it's much easier to justify that than forcing a fringe PC archetype into the majority of the game's content.

I totally get that there are subsets of the playerbase that hold stuff like tauric arrangement near and dear to their heart, but I feel that giving the PC that option does more harm than good. That's me, though, and I'm certainly not a dev, so maybe they really intend to eventually round everything out and provide equal representation for all these options. It could technically be done, but starting as a half-leithan, for example, needs serious considerations and alternate scenes right out of the gate.

Its a main thing I hold dear in this game, thats for sure. I've got a huge naga monster girl fetish, I wasn't a naga-morph 24/7 in CoC cuz of its combat ability, it made me feel like what I choose actually mattered. That I'd get to see the events of my fetish, even if rarely. Its a large reason that I'm here, and personally treasure what I can find of such.

I could understand it getting a scene here and there and ignored everywhere else like CoC did with it, but a total cut out... just... no, please don't. :(

Let's be clear here: no content is getting cut from TiTS.  Nagas, taurs, genderless, nudists, all that shit is already here and will be treated as it always has been.

In future games, expect that those options will not be made available, much like you couldn't be a nudist in CoC.

So you are gong to cut naga-morphs in any future games, take the choice away from the player?

HE isn't. Savin in CoC2 is. Who knows what will happen in future games. Fenoxo intends TiTS to run for as long as people are still willing to support him to do it.

Sigh ... I was looking forward to a CoC 2 until you mentioned this. What does it have going for it aside encounters with previous cast?

Shit, you're right. Wow, and that was an environment where it would've been a way easier sell than the TiTS universe. Huh.

Being able to take off everything is a Kitteh's mod added thing.

It is really hard to put a line between things which should be and which should not... Each custom piece adds some extra work for writers, but also adds appeal to game.

Its certainly lost more then a good amount of my interest with the removal of PC naga morphs.

An actual plot. Deeper focus on all the stuff that isn't naga/centaur/genderless. Much better travelling, battling and encounter mechanics. The ability to manage your own caste/estate. Text porn Witcher 3.

I can definitely confirm the 'more is less' relation going on with taur scenes and player choice in general, and I was originally motivated specifically to write them. Actually, here's a really relevant tidbit I just wrote.

Code:
You walk up the protruding ramp with him and note the entrance is massively tall -
{if pc.height >= 108: a relief to you, being as big as you are. Dealing with doorways on most planets is such a drag
{PC has visited NT:, New Texas being the last one you can remember fitting in everywhere}. You turn your head as Edan activates the lights with a voice command.}
{if pc.height < 108 && pc.height > 84: tall enough that you probably couldn't reach the door frame without {pc.isTaur(): rearing back on your hind legs. You stand alongside Edan as he activates the lights with a voice command.}
{else: jumping. You stand alongside Edan as he activates the lights with a voice command.}}
{if pc.height < 84: it looks to be almost twice your height or more! You feel like you've entered a giant's abode which, you suppose, you have. Edan towers above you, activating the lights overhead with a voice command.}

Imagine if for every sentence you wrote, you had to write an additional sentence and then an additional sentence if someone's a fucking taur - don't even get me started on if they're naga/goo/whatever. When I finish this project I'm going to write a bad end where every 'taur player is shot into the sun, including me. It's the only way. Seriously though, while it can be fun to think you're nailing someone's powerplay fetish with use of different heights, 70% of the time it's a massive drag because the viable range is absurd.

vv I'm super disappointed at 'taurs being gone, but given the stats I've seen thrown out by people on the forums about how most people play the game (and just based on my own experiences with forums/furries), I'd wager we are in the extreme minority. I can't be mad at that logic, having written myself. It's what motivated my latest character. Also it's not as simple as just letting people do stuff for it if they want - then people get an incomplete experience everywhere else, leading to complaints and now you're back at square 1 with the choice to implement or not.
