right, so, a while ago in my tits career (goin on my first file!) I saw the distress call from the phoenix come in. I thought I could go right in, guns blazing, and I got my cute little ass whooped. so I reloaded, and ignored that distress call when it came in next time (I did open it, THEN ignored it, I’m vaguely aware this is bigger consequences). so. I know I screwed the pooch on this, but how irreversibly? can save editing or impulse-ing save me from locking out of all that content? I know that’s dishonest, and I may or may not go through with it; I’d just like to know if it’s fixable, I guess.

(I’m new to all this stuff. really sorry if this isn’t good post etiquette or somesuch)

Some quick testing suggests:
If you've identified it as the Phoenix, no, you can't get the distress call again, even via the Save Editor.
However, while this is hard to test, it seems choosing Ignore instead of Read Message does not count as failing/ignoring for making it inaccessible. So if you're not sure you can handle it, ignoring distress calls completely may be the way to go.

I did not test changing the relevant flags to mimic a completed state, only deleting the Fall of the Phoenix Status value (Ignoring set to -1) and setting to 0.

It's been a while since I've needed to redo an event, but deleting all flags that pop up when you search "Phoenix" in the raw tab of editor should allow you to proc it again. Don't set to 0, that's not deleted, you have to erase the number next to the flag.

You should be able to save edit it. If you can't fix it, then I'd say post the save file and I'll give it a look.

I thought that's what I did (in addition to a separate test), but it's possible I did it wrong.

There's also the possibility of a flag or status effect that's not named Phoenix that procs the encounter. I've tried digging around and was unsuccessful but maybe someone else can find it.

Sorry for a late response when you responded so kindly! tried the flag reset, and I wasn't able to get the message for the event. I suppose I could just have abysmal luck at getting the event to activate (wouldnt be the first time!) but I tried for a good long while, and no dice.

This may a COMPLETELY obtuse thing to ask about, but: there's a little asterisk next to the phoenix event that had transpired (the one I had to remove a flag for, the distress signal) and it was in bold, even after I removed the number. Can't figure out how to remove that; titsed wont let me touch it.

thank you so much for offering! Really, it's no problem if it can't be fixed, I can salvage, but I'm very grateful for the help.

There ya go. I noiticed it had "fall of the phoeni" with a -1. Also you had her affection at 69 somehow? You were ignoring the 1st distress email? Dunno how that affection was there but I just removed it all and tested, you're good to go for all Saendra stuff. 96 day puts you right on the 1st Distress, and 100 puts ya on the 2nd one.

Thank you kindly! Everything's in order, and I got through it all right this time; I owe ya one!

And yeah, ain't it a riot about the affection thing? I hadn't touched it, but it was like that when I was checking to see if her flags were up (and I tried resetting it for a fix, but that was a no go). I assumed it was one of the programmers having a laugh, because of all the numbers that would be there...Well, if it is just a weird mutant coincidence, I have no idea what I did to make it happen.
