PC background specific interactions?

I've searched the wiki but found only few mentions about any background specific flavor text or interactions.

So far I know that:

• A Scholar or Noble Scion can help educate Kinu himself
  
• A Scholar or Noble Scion has slightly different dialogue with Evelyn
• A Hunter can bypass an encounter while reaching the logging camp
• A Hunter has a slightly different introduction to Brint
• A Soldier or Barbarian has different reactions to Vaush's stories
• A Slum Rat has a slightly different interaction with Master Whisper
• An Arcanist has deeper knowledge of the Conjurers concoction, Cinderleaf, Frostleaf,
• A Courtesan can safely escape the Orc lodge after inciting an orgy
• A Minstrel will be able to start a brawl in the orc lodge
• An Acolyte or Scholar will be able to partially understand River's handsigns.
• A Slum rat or Hunter can sneak attack the Herald.

I'm curious if anyone found any more examples during their play.

I've been wondering, do Miko and Mai call me a barbarian because I am actually a barbarian via background? Or is that just them being playfully rude/racist? Either way I am really into it, I think it's fun.

At last count, there are 211 instances of the [pc.bg] parser in the game.

That's a surprisingly larger number than I expected. Now I'm left wondering whether the parser is spread over all backgrounds roughly equally, or if some backgrounds find more use than other.

I've been wondering, do Miko and Mai call me a barbarian because I am actually a barbarian via background? Or is that just them being playfully rude/racist? Either way I am really into it, I think it's fun.

My bet is on the latter, a reference to how Europeans were in 16th century Japan labeled nanban (southern barbarian).

A barbarian is less timid/more knowledgable when entertaining Kinu in the woods, and I think minstrels have a more technical opinion on Kinu's koto playing.

I've always wondered if there are any special dialogues when interacting with Arona or in the quest with the Orc Camp if your background is a barbarian. Since this thread started, I decided to go through the entire quest. And it seems there is no difference what is a little de-blacking (because the whole Champion clan was destroyed by the orcs). Although that may change with the release of Arona's content, i dunno.

Noble scion has a slightly different text when recruiting Atugia.
Arcanist has more knowledge about witches when meeting Viviane.

I think minstrels have a more technical opinion on Kinu's koto playing.

Can confirm as I play a Minstrel and your musical knowledge causes you to notice just how off the keys are.

A Minstrel also gets an alternate scene if you try and incite an orgy instead of a brawl, in both cases with extra dialogue if your starting race was orc. Off the top of my head here are some other variations I've found:

- An Acolyte can attempt to purify the abomination in the Centaur Village, or help Cait do so if she's in the party.

- An Acolyte will also have extra dialogue in Fort Marrok when it comes to dealing with ghosts.

- There are all sorts of variations in the Convocation of Mirrors quest. A Scholar or Noble Scion will react to Sigrune's mention of Tychris, a Scholar will also admire the architecture of the archway and an Arcanist will recognize that something really magical is going on. An Acolyte or Scholar will recognize Nareva.

- A Noble Scion will have different dialogue when Ryn mentions the treaty between her people and the Frost Marches and likewise when meeting the baroness with Ryn.

- Cait will compliment a Courtesan on their technique after being eaten out. Acolytes, Arcanists and Scholars will have additional lines when Cait shows off the brand that keeps her from getting pregnant.

To be honest, that's probably not too far off, at the moment. Most of the situations where the backgrounds come up will be in more formal or intellectual situations. A basic scholar of magic is going to have more to talk about with Kinu or another mage than the most intelligent soldier.

Likewise, a Champion from Nobility will probably have more of an education than most of the classes, save for the Scholar or the Minstrel. Not just schooling, but how to address peers, or the finer points of polite discussion or society, or being just a little knowledgeable about a broad spectrum of topics. Enough to not look like an idiot, not enough to be thought an expert.

Down the line, there will probably be more situations where the likes of the Barbarian or the Soldier backgrounds become a little more prominent. Perhaps the Champion might be asked to help train new recruits and we get a few lines that has the Soldier instructing them in line formation and regimented fighting. Or the Barbarian does likewise, pointing out the use of a shieldwall against a rampaging attacker, using themselves as an example.

Yeah, and based on some of the hints we've gotten about minotaur society and how it's quasi-Roman, I wouldn't be surprised if the Soldier background unlocks some extra lines in Khor'minos. Slum Rat could probably get some extra lines in Tychris and maybe Khor'minos, with a city environment reminding them of their experiences growing up. I'd expect the more knowledgeable backgrounds still get more content in the long run but it seems a reasonable bet that there will be more across the board as the game progresses.

IIRC, a barbarian also warns Cait that there's something drawing near.

Arcanist can also Train Kinu, I believe to train her you just need to be one of the magical classes. But I know Arcanist does it since my black mage taught her fox daughter with the fox wife
