Breaking the princess:

You play as Hugar a warrior in a backwater mining town. Life was always dangerous that far from civilization but it was rewarding. That all changed when Harmony, a daughter of the emperor, rolled into town and wrecked everything. Now, the town is on the verge of collapse and the only one who can stand up to her is you. You'll have to teach the princess and her retinue some manners... And some humility.

The main gameplay will be tower defence and resource management. You’ll have to rebuild the town’s defences so that you’ll be able to stand up to more and more powerful monsters.

This update is very visual! The whole game UI has been updated by my lovely wife, Takgore has been given a talking puppet and we even have a new CG to top it off.

Not to say that I sat on my hands. After putting all that art in, I found the time to add new units and buildings and also do a bunch of little tweaks and improvements to the game base.

Build on time! You don’t see that every month. Hehe. Not only do you get some fresh BtP goodness but News desk is now free for everyone! It is officially off the press.

The BtP build is a mix of smut and backend this time. I wanted to do more front end to give you guys more info when you do actions but I stumbled on two pretty big bugs that I had to take care of. It will be pushed to the next build.

Hey everyone!

This month, I took a week off to recharge my batteries. It really worked. I had fun with my lovely wife and then dove right back into BtP with renewed vigor.

This time, I focused on the programming. There were a few things that I wanted to make work and I wanted to give you guys more info to make decisions with. Overall, I am happy with how it turned out. ^_^

My lovely wife has been hard at work too. She made some backgrounds and a CG for us. She almost managed to finish another CG but was held back by something and missed the build date.

Hey everyone!

This month was all about adding more to the game rather than introducing new functions. We have more events, proclamations and ease of use.

Some of the proclamations are more earmarkers (punishment, courtship and prostitution). They will eventually grow to be more impactful when I add the talking to the villagers function. Other proclamations have been improved like pelt trading. Pelts are now the wildcard resource that they were meant to be.

The new events will be pretty interactive. You can make choices on most of them to gain various resources or sometimes, decide where the damage will land. It’s starting now with buildings popping up or getting burned down but eventually, I hope to make the town feel alive as it will grow and constrict by itself with you as the gardener, pruning it here and there.

You guys will probably have to restart as I made a lot of changes to the backend to get all this new content to work well. The new changes will probably help make it feel like a new game, though. ^_^

Hey everyone!

Long time since the last update! For those of you who don’t know, I busted my hand while exercising. It took a while to heal and I was at half speed for a long time while it did so. I did manage to do quite a lot in the time I was down, though.

Before we get into the changes, I have a Christmas offer for you guys! For the rest of the month of December, the annual membership will be 16% off! If you like my work and want to stick around to see where it goes, now is the time to go for it. ^_^

Now back to the game. The biggest change is the battle system. The old way became very math-y after a while. While I am sure it’s ok with a lot of you, I know some people are not up for big math while they are watching smut. Hehe. The new way is easier on the numbers but more about positioning units. The troops will now face the opposing enemies directly.

Example:
Monster attack 2 VS Troop attack 3 <-- Win
Monster attack 2 VS Troop attack 1 <-- Loss
Monster attack 2 VS Troop attack 2 <-- Clash

If your troop wins, they automatically survive and you gain some happiness.

If your troop loses, they automatically die and you gain some lust.

If there is a Clash, your troop rolls their "live" percentage. If they roll under it, it counts as a win, if they roll over it, it counts as a loss.

Watch out for the rushdown skill. It can really throw a wrench into your calculations as booting a unit out of the battle changes the unit order.

Each loss gives one damage to that battle's wall. If the wall hits zero and there are still losses to go, you lose one random building per extra loss.

I think it will make the fighting more exciting and engaging!

Added the “press space” graphic and functionality to the text box (to toggle it on/off).
Make it so that the toolbars will close if you click somewhere else. (troops, buildings and system)
Added an indicator of where your troops are posted so they are easy to locate later.
Unseen smut scenes will now have a particle effect to let you know they are new.
Added a full screen button to the main screen and System tab.
Added an exit button to the main screen and System tab.
“Rushdown” now always targets the opposing unit on the other side.
“Snipe” now always starts a Clash with opposing flyer.
“Rage” now always starts a Clash with the opposing enemy.
Lowered the price for the first two “army deployment” proclamations.
Walls no longer dictate the number of spots in battle. Instead, they give a number of troops equal to the wall's number a 30% boost to surviving.
Walls go up to 8 now, rather than 5.
Troops protected by walls now have a little wall graphic to know at a glance.
Added a "remove" graphic that will appear when you hover the mouse over the troop stats. Letting you know you can click the troop off.
Added arrows to move the troops up and down in the army panels. (to help with positioning)
The number shown on enemy and troop total is now just the number of units present. Not the total of their attacks.
Battles are now unit VS unit rather than the total of all strengths calculated.
Added Drakdor to the mansion's tab. You can now talk with the people depending on which buildings you have in your town.
Added 7 Drakdor talks (smut and get to know the town).

Next month, I will write more talking scenes. Both for the town and the girls. I will also be adding in the battle screen where the battles will play out for you. Seeing them will give you a much better idea of how they proceed which will make it easier for you to deploy your units. I also have a friend making unit sprites for it. Hey everyone!

New build day! This one was a doozy. The addition of beastmasters meant a lot of work as you will now be able to recruit beast type enemies with them. It won’t be easy but will be quite a boon. On a later build, you’ll be able to breed them to help grow your menagerie. And after that, you’ll maybe be able to use village women to help out. ^_^

You will also be able to save some precious Deeds if you bow to Harmony’s scheme for a while. If you keep your grubby hands off of her, she will let you have Elizabeth for half price. What a deal! Lol.

I also made it so that when a new round starts, all your troops deployed to the walls get put back into the troops tab for easy redeployment. I found it quite a time saver as I was testing it. Another time saver was to have the individual fight result panels at the end of the fight animation rather than having to click the done button twice per fight.

Plus a handful of Harmony events makes for a huge update! The sad part is that you’ll have to restart your game as so much stuff has changed in the backend that old saves won’t work anymore. To help remedy that, I gave a generous boost to the starting resources just for this build so that you guys can get right back on the horse without having to cheat.

Next month, I will give a look at the tutorial. They are always pretty barebone and I’m sure I can do a better job. I’ll also work on game rhythm. Right now, all the options are dumped on you right at the start. It can be overwhelming. So, I’ll make Hugar think of things as the game goes along. Some options will open after a number of rounds, others will become available after you do things a certain number of times, and others still will come online when you reach certain points with the girls. This will add a better flow to the game and make you feel like you’re advancing.

After that, I am planning to work more talking to the people of Drakdor. I’ll write a few more Hugar ones where he checks on the buildings but I have something ambitious in mind too. I want short little stories for every combination of troops and buildings. Of course, SHORT will be the operative word here. There will be over a 100 possible combinations so it will just be little smutty snippets of the lives of the people. If I find that I like the format, I’ll have them evolve as things change in the game.

Hey everyone!

New build! A string of real life stuff happened last month which pushed the build to this month but here we are!

This build focused on a better tutorial. The last one was dry and basically a wall of text so it was easy to zone out and not absorb the information. In this one, Hugar will walk you through all the basic things over the first three rounds of the game while giving a tour of Drakdor. I also didn’t skimp on lewdness as Drakdor is full of it. ^_^ It’s much better than before.

It still needs the accompanying pictures, though. I started editing some but it was kind of a mess. Lol. I am far from an artist. After my lovely wife is done with what she’s doing for me right now, I’ll have her get right on that.

I also made the first three rounds easier by not having “wild scorchers” spawn during that time and now have the first barrack be free. (paid for by Hugar using all his savings.)

I also fixed the speed for the fighting animations. It was super slow for you guys compared to when it played in my editor. You can tell me if it’s still too slow for you or it’s now too fast. Hehe.

Hey everyone!

My lovely wife’s operation went well and she is now recovered! ^_^ It took about two weeks for her to get back on her feet but only the first one had her crippled. The second one, she just needed help here and there.

As for the game, I learned how to do android builds but I still need to figure out if I can change the resolution. It's not perfect yet. I made them look a lot better than before but there is still some squish going on. I also need to get another device to test them on as I only have one tablet. Meaning that I don't know if I only made it look good on that one resolution. I'll appreciate all feedback on this as it will mean a better looking android version next month.

I also wrote for all 3 girls and finished the tutorial by adding the images!

Hey everyone!

Lots of great advances this month! First, the gallery to be able to view all the girl’s scenes. Then I had a long look at the troops deployment as it is where you’ll spend most of your time in the game. My initial thought was that it would feel nice to have to buy the “Rapid Army Deployments” (RAD) as it would give a sense of growth. In practice, though, it slowed the game down quite a lot. And since my games require more thinking than the usual smut game, it didn’t feel right to also add physical barriers so I decided to make it base kit.

Also for RAD, I switched it from having the arrows to a tray of your available units. This removes a ton of clicks per round and lets you see at a glance which units you have left. It makes the game rounds go much smoother.

And the last BIG change is that the game now only takes the action points for deploying any troops at the end of the round. That way, you can explore what each unit does without having to lose action points or re-loading the game a bunch of times. You can make mistakes without being punished.

A lot of big changes for a month that I took a week off. ^_^ Shows what a rested mind can do.

The last thing to mention is that billing changed in a good way for you guys. It used to be that if you sign up on, let's say, the 20th, your subscription would end on the first of the next month, giving you only a few days. Now, if you sign up on the 20th, you will be a patron until the 20th of next month! A basic but good change from Patreon.

If you’ve been waiting for a good version to try the game or have tried it in the past but the game was too green, V0.22 is a great one to start on. The gameplay is pretty much rock solid on this one so give it a try!

Hey everyone!

The build took a while but it was worth it. ^_^ We now have a new phase of play and the introduction for the last girl, Felicity! About 12 pages of story added with a few spicy lewd scenes.

Since there’s no tutorial yet, I’ll give a few things here:

To access the new play mode, you need to buy four scenes from Harmony. (You’ll have to do this even if you already viewed more than 4 as it’s only counting from now.)
Simply follow the instructions after that to keep going. (Note: When you visit the castle with Hugar, you’ll get a warning that all old smut scenes will get bared if you continue. You can ignore that for now as the new smut mechanic is not in yet.)
As for raiding, right now, it’s at its simplest. You will send units to hunt monsters in their lairs before they attack your walls. If you succeed, you will not have to deal with that type of monster for the number of rounds shown. There are 3 levels of success and one of failure.
If you at least have enough attack in all columns, you will be successful but your troops will only get +20% to survive their “Live” rolls.
If you have the attack numbers and there are troops in all the right positions, you will succeed and get +40 for your “Live” rolls.
If you have all the right units in the right places, you will succeed and get +60% bonus.
You fail if you don’t have enough attack in all the columns. The units will all roll their “Live” stat with +0% bonus.
You can send scouts each round to find out more information in each raid. First, the number of attack needed, then the positions needed and then the units needed.
Later on, you will also get some rewards from raids and even some smutty scenes here and there.

Since it's all so new, if you spot any bugs, please report. I stomped all I could find but I am sure there are a few sneaking here and there.

One more step toward the end of the game. ^_^ I now have all the troops added and working! Including Harmony and Elizabeth! Later, the girls are going to cost Deeds rather than actions and Harmony will give severe minuses rather than gain you anything. You will be able to discipline her every time she screws up to make her do better next time. But for now, since the discipline system is not in yet, I made them both free and Harmony gives +20 lust when you put her in a building. Elizabeth acts like a worker token on steroids! Lol.

For access to the mage and Imperial troops, send Julianna to Aquarine anytime after the scene with Felicity. She will be able to bargain with the quartermaster with gold or her body, your choice.

Hey everyone!

The last big piece of coding is done! I still need to code a few bits and bobs for future Harmony fuckups but the back system is all done and ready for more. ^_^ I also wrote a storm for Harmony’s punishments and her next round of fuckups. Like I mentioned to my patrons, it was fun to finally see Harmony’s armor start to crack. We’ll eventually be able to see the girl under that wall of anger and we’ll also eventually be able to see under that veil.

The most hardcore ones are the fighting pit and the beast pens. If you played the game, you can probably guess what kind of stuff is happening in those. If you’re squeamish, I would suggest avoiding those. The rest of the buildings have the usual level of smut.

My lovely wife has been hard at work and produced 3 new CGs! Since she’s between jobs right now, she’s had more time to draw for us!

This month, I am going to start polishing the game. More help for new players, work on the declarations to make them what I envisioned, start work on the bathhouse and the theater and retool some of the unit and enemy skills. Some of those last ones are still from the old battle system so it would be good to update them so it’s better for the present one.

Hey everyone!

This build is all about optimizing and polishing the game. I started by updating the help feature. Now, right clicking not only gives you a ton of info, all kept together with an index for easy search, but you can also rewatch the tutorial if you want a more in depth explanation.

After that was done, I updated a good few skills, both from your troops and from the monsters to make the game more fun. Some skills were still relics from the old battle system so it was high time to look at them again.

And finally, I added a ton of proclamations and tweaked some events to go with them. That was the plan from the start, to have those two functions bounce off each other a lot. I’m going to have to create a few more events next build but what’s already there works well.

All in all, we took a good few steps forward.

My lovely wife has also been hard at work and produced 3 new CGs! She’s drawing up a storm!

If you’ve been waiting for a good version to try the game or have tried it in the past but the game was too green, V0.26 is a great one to start on. The gameplay is pretty much rock solid on this one so give it a try!

Hey everyone!

This build is all about updating events and, finally, making the bathhouse and the theater to do something. The plan was always to have those two buildings be a place to put your unique units when you don’t need them while getting a bit of extra resource for it and it’s finally online. You’ll also get to customize both buildings in proclamations to decide what bounties they should give. All the while, getting more smut at the end of the rounds depending which unit is in there.

Apart from that, I added a bunch of new events and retouched the old ones to change depending on what proclamations you bought. When everything is done, I’ll go over everything to balance it to perfection but I think you guys will like the present numbers for now. ^_^

And, of course, I wrote 10 new scenes. One for each unique unit in both the bathhouse and the theater.

My lovely wife has also been hard at work and produced 3 new CGs!

Hey everyone!

Man it’s hard to write smut when you’re stressed. I’ve been dealing with contractors for most of the summer and I’m still not done. Real life can be a bitch sometimes. Hehe.

Still, I conquered all that and managed to write 30 new scenes! Each smuttier than the last. ^_^ If you’re not a fan of beastly stuff, don’t put Takgore in the buildings. Next build, I’ll add in a toggle to remove those kinds of scenes if they are not your cup of tea so that you’ll be able to get Takgore’s kind of resource with no headache.

My lovely wife has also been hard at work and produced 4 new CGs (finishing the CGs for all the girl’s basic scenes) and a new background!

Hey everyone!

We are done with the bathhouse and theater scenes! I actually made a mistake in the last build. I forgot to add 5 scenes in the theater for some reason. I added them to this build so we’re all good.

I also added a few polishes to help you guys. I added a warning if you go over your action budget and I made save slot #1 be an autosave. If you are currently using it for your main save, don’t worry. Just load it like normal and save in another slot from now on. Both of these polishes were asked by one of you guys and I would encourage you to give more of your opinions. The good (boosts my morale and helps make sure I don’t change something that people like) and the bad (helps me see when you need more help with something or identifies weak points in the game)

My lovely wife also finished another BG for us. She’s having lots of fun making intricate backgrounds. She almost managed to finish Aquarine’s one but sadly ran out of time.

This next month, I’m going to do a lot more polishing. There’s a list of things I or others noticed that could work better so I want to do a few of those. I also plan to write a bit to advance the main story. Lastly, I’ll prep for making the hero tokens change as things happen. ^_^ That’s right! The main guys will upgrade as the game goes on. For example, here is one idea:

You are the priestess of a local temple who has been in charge of taking care of a town for years is forced to house the haughty spoiled prince and his friends. He is rude, arrogant, and demanding, with his men harassing the locals. As a result, you've decided to put the prince and his unruly retinue in their place.

Would you object to this plotline or not?

I would not be offended or object to it. Lots of people would actually love that game. I would probably not play it though. Femdom is not bad but it's not one of my favorites. I don't mind male humiliation, though. In small doses, it can be fun.

Hey everyone!

So this month, I took a vacation and it really hit the spot. I had taken one toward the end of summer but I was still tense from stress so this one for my birthday helped a lot. I could feel my mind being much more limber and it was easier to focus on the work. Even though I didn’t have lots of time this month, I did quite a lot!

I finally added the function to censor beast smut. I know that that one is a deal breaker for some so not having to worry about it will be helpful for them.

I also added an auto-deploy button to raids. When you are fully scouted for a kind of enemy, it will add the right troops where they need to go if you have them to deploy. If you only have them semi scouted (the “?” spots) it will deploy default units to those spots. You can then edit yourself to hit the needed attacks or if you would prefer to not deploy those particular troops. Saves a lot of clicking!

Speaking of saving time, I added two clicks deployment to the town buildings and the walls. Just click on the unit spot in a building and then choose from the tray of troop options for quick deployment.

My lovely wife has been hard at work and produced three new backgrounds! Very good speed on these. She almost finished a fourth one but it will have to wait till the next build.

This next month will be a lot of writing but first I’ll finish the last thing I could not get to this month. I will add more info on where the numbers come from in the end of round panel and then it will be writing writing writing. ^_^

Hey everyone!

This month I worked on adding more Harmony scenes in town and to add information in the end screen to give you more clarity on where those numbers come from. I sorted the info by buildings and even color coded it all for easy reference.

I also wanted to add in the Felicity scene that I had written but it needed some coding to accompany it and I was too delayed fixing some bugs to get to it. It will be in the next build.

Hey everyone!

This build was all about writing! I finished a huge chunk of the Harmony scenes. Both her in town ones and her punishments. I also finished coding all the bonuses and minuses for putting Harmony in buildings (I even coded the ones that are not written yet). After all this time, it’s nice to see Harmony bend and break as we’re approaching the climax.

My lovely wife was also quite industrious. She finished five BGs and almost managed to get a sixth one in but sadly, it will have to go into the next build.

This next month, I will finish the last 3 buildings and then either continue writing for Felicity or do some coding for a few details that I would like to address. I’ve been playing my game quite a lot and noticed a few places that could be strengthened for an optimal player performance.

Hey everyone!

I am finally done with all the Harmony in town and punishments! Beast pen, Fighting pit, Workshop and Church have all been finished. I am also starting the last part of the story between Felicity and Harmony. The heat is turning up!

The new Felicity content will show up when Harmony has been through at least 4 scenes in town. Then just send Hugar to Aquarine for some fun. ^_^

My lovely wife only has two BGs to finish and then it will be back to making CGs. The clash between Felicity and Harmony will be well illustrated!

This next month, I will work on the main story and add Julianna’s training. Our favorite knight hasn’t seen any action for a while so I’d like to add in her last stuff too. All storylines will converge on the ending! Can’t wait to see it all done.

Hey everyone!

This build has what the title promises. The scenes where Harmony breaks! ^_^ Each type of building has 3 kinds of scenes and each time you completely finish one of them, you may get a breaking scene. They are pretty big too. Usual scenes are an average of 3 pages but these are around 5 pages each. You’ll learn a bit about Harmony and Elizabeth’s past and be able to see Harmony act like a human along with lots of smutty situations.

There’s also the first ending included. If you break her fully, Harmony will have a proposition for you!

Hey everyone!

Huge update as it is the last of the written content! Added in all the training with Julianna scenes and all the ending variations. You can now upgrade Hugar and Julianna’s tokens to be more formidable in combat!

I also fixed a bug reported by one of you that shocked me! Something else I changed a while ago made it so that when you watched the tutorial at the start of the game, it would lock you out of “talk with drakdor”, “proclamations” and access the help screen forever. I wonder how many of you tried playing the game and were hobbled by this bug. I don’t even know how long it managed to stay in there… As usual, if you guys spot something that feels strange, don’t hesitate to contact me. I’ll appreciate it.

I also fixed a few minor things like rewording some stuff to make it easier to understand and added the way to end the game. It will show in the general gains panel at the end of each round to keep you updated.

My lovely wife has been hard at work for us all and gave us a ton of new CGs. ^_^

Hey everyone!

Lots of changes to the main game in this one! The raids have been completely overhauled, lots of work on the proclamations and a ton of small details behind the scene. On top of that, my lovely wife has been hard at work for us! Delivering almost all the remaining CGs.

I didn’t have time to remake the tutorial for the raids so I’ll put a quick explanation here:

You’ll get 6 random raids every turn.
In each raid, you’ll get a random number of bars to put troops in and each of those bars will have a random attack requirement to win. (scaled by monster difficulty)
Simply match or overshoot the number on each bar, by placing units in, to win that raid.
The scouting bar is for discovering terrains. Each fight has 1 to 6 hidden terrains. Those terrains are chosen from 8 different kinds. 4 good ones and 4 bad ones. Placing a unit on one of those terrains will activate it, whether it is hidden or scouted so be careful!
After you are done placing units, leave the raid screen, finish your turn and in the result screens, you’ll get the results of your raids.

That’s the rough and dirty lowdown. I’m sure that when you guys see it, you’ll get the gist of it instantly.

I wanted this build to be the last one but redoing the raids took longer than I thought it would. I’m going to work more on finishing the rest of my notes this month. This should be the last build needed. Fingers crossed!
