I’d like to believe that the Champ’s soul functions differently than normal souls, mainly due to the magic portal in the beginning.
I imagine that it transformed the soul into a what’s essentially a magic battery or life battery, that perpetually increases in power and quantity. Of course we don’t exactly feel it. We only know that souls are about as big as a thumb (IRC the soul we find in the khor minus cave is about that size) our soul when we soul bind is as big as a fist and glows a brilliant gold.
now after we choose a “god” to pledge our soul to, they inspect and stow it away.
I don’t imagine they consume the soul to be fairly honest, I’d like to believe in Keros’s case that he put the soul where the Kitsune collective soul is, and that our soul continuously feeds the entire thing and every Kitsune in real time (albeit a tiny bit for everyone)
I don’t know, maybe Lumia does the same? And who knows what Nareva would do to it. But I do think it’s too valuable and too powerful for it simply to be consumed like some delicious peach and be done with it.
maybe this is why we can still “donate” or “feed” other Kitsune even if we are Kitsune (considering that if a Kitsune feeds another Kitsune it would taste like vomit but they find our chi delicious still)
