I was wondering, since Kitsunes come from The Old Country (which I'm assuming is based on Japanese myths), will there be other races from there as well? Specifically Onis? The Old Country lore is one of my favorites in the game so I was also wondering if there will be anymore additions, or if that specific arc is nearing its end?

I think Tobs has confirmed that tanuki, nekomata, and onis all exist in some form or fashion, although the latter two are, I think, Regionally Distinct Catfolk and Regionally Distinct Orcs.

As far as I'm aware, you will not be seeing them in this game. For various reasons, some of which are described in the game itself, the imperial colony is populated solely by kitsune.

Oh right I forgot about that. Thank you for answering!

Oni, nekomata, and tengu are all confirmed in different points in floof content.

Kiyoko describing Garret
"I see what he is attempting to do here. While it may be risky, if it works, it would work well, and his temperament is that of an oni — risk and danger do not deter him, be it from foolhardiness or otherwise."
The item description of the hand sickle
A favorite of the occasional tengu-led nekomata rebellion against kitsune and tanuki dominion in the Old Country's past due to its concealable nature and plausible deniability as a farming implement, the sickle is made to pierce padded cloth and leather with its wicked point.
Kiyoko meeting Nihara
Kiyoko raises an eyebrow at the sight, then clears her throat not-quite-discreetly. "Ah. A nekomata, and one touched by elemental powers at that."

A what?

"A people not too unlike Jassiran catfolk who originate from just across the straits from my homeland in the nation of Macah. Almost identical, in fact, save for their two tails as opposed to the catfolk's one.

Despite being a yuri manga, Konohana Kitan was interesting in depicting just about everyone as some stripe of yokai. That was relaxed for the anime when the production company ran out of actual manga-derived content and had to come up with their own, but the earlier episodes are pretty good on that.

It's interesting in worldbuilding where you don't have humans to take as a baseline species for comparison.

Observe the passers-by in the street while the girls are having their exchange.

Ironic that a feels good show with animal girls is a good way to summarize that there is a bunch of races unique to Kitsuhon, with out having to give one a wall of text.
