I didn't approach Octavia in the colosseum because I was too lazy to fight her properly and didn't think she would be locked out from that. Imagine my surprise when I found out about being locked out through the wiki long after the fact :negativeman:

I really don't wanna go back to that moment since I've gotten so far ahead in the game. If someone could please help me edit my save, or at least guide me through what flags to change, I'd be super grateful! Just enough to access the slums that she invites you to

Okay so I just tested this on the save you provided so it should work. I put ColosseumArenaBlackKnightPost() into the console then selecting "Go After Her" and it unlocked the slums and was able to meet Octavia.

You can open the console with ctrl+shift+i if you've downloaded the game and playing using the exe file and can't open he console then go to resources/app there you'll find an html file named index open it and it'll launch the game in your browser.

No, there isn't a way. Even if it was possible, it would most likely brick your save, somehow. There are also no flags for Octavia's fight or first Approach scene (at least, I can't find them. I can find the scenes themselves but that's it.)
Both statements are wrong :p
Flag editing is not that volatile to brick a save (unless you have no idea what JSON is, but that’s not the flag’s fault). At worst, you’ll see random out-of-order appearances (Like wild Brienne when you reverted her to Brint). If you are really talented maybe you will find a pair of flags that soft lock you - like going into a tile and every button is greyed out without exit.
PC editing, especially in stats and level departments, is what’s volatile.

Ofc there is a flag for this encounter, as this game is coded around flags - it is COLO_BK, and going after her sets the value to 2.

Side note: evoking encounters like the above is dangerous and can brick the game, since encounters can manipulate your position. Try running ColosseumArenaBlackKnightPost() with no tile under you (south) and check what happens :p

i actually did try this with the public coc2 editor! it didn't work some reason, which is why i came on here hoping for a different solution. the console command in browser worked and i've played further for a couple hours to make sure the file wasnt fcked (saving and backing up pre-edited file ofc) and it's been smooth sailing so far

watch that now i've typed that out, the save gets bricked

I was going to keep them up for posterity, but I deleted them. I was just trying to help. Sorry I was wrong, and yes I know nothing about Json, i just wanted to help but only fucked things up poking around, and figured being confident about it would prevent a fellow novice from messing up the save/game by doing the same shit I did. Idk what else to say other than apologizing and deleting everything.

Hey, no need to beat yourself up over it :D
Even if you weren't 100% correct op got the answer needed :D
Also it was not intention to be received so harshly - I apologize for that.

Hmm - that's a bit strange - I was able to proc her(the fight again) on your save after cleaning the flag completely or to 0, but yeah setting it just to 2 is not enough. I would need to poke around more but no point in it as it already worked for you :p

Yeah, that was a bit of a 'just woke up anxiety' spaz on my part. but thanks man. I'm only familiar with python and a bit of c++, so I can follow some of the logic, but it's another language, and learning is a process lol.
