Hello. It took quite a while for my account to be approved on the new forum, but the game thread is back now.

Your freshman year in college suddenly becomes much more interesting as you’re invited to an underground sexfighting competition. Amazingly, you discover that you are the only male participant this year! You are even being well paid for the privilege of sexfighting your fellow students!
Who is running this competition? How has it remained a secret for so long? Does it really even matter when these four beautiful girls are literally throwing themselves at you?

Night Games is designed as a hybrid between an RPG about a friendly arena style battlefucking competition and a dating sim where you build relationships with your opponents. Rather than random enemy encounters, all the opponents are distinct, persistent NPCs, with fleshed out personalities who use the same combat and experience systems as the player.
Combat skills are split between three basic attributes: Power, Cunning, and Seduction. You can build your character around your style of play. Do you want to incapacitate and pin your opponent before finishing her off? Maybe you prefer sneaky tricks and traps to outwit your opponent. Maybe you just want to be a pure sex machine. Later in the game, you have the opportunity to gain advanced attributes, opening up additional skill trees and unlocking new opponents.

The game loop is split into distinct day/night phases:

  • Each night the Player and NPCs roam the campus, engaging in sex fights when they meet. It is possible to set traps and lay ambushes for your opponents to give yourself the edge in combat. You and will gain money and experience for defeating your opponents and stealing their panties. However your opponents will be gaining money and experience for beating you and each other.

  • Each day, you will have some free time to prepare for your match. You can use the time to train or buy items and equipment for use in the match. Alternatively, you can spend some intimate time with your NPC opponents, which will grant access to unique gameplay perks if you build enough affection with them.

I really like this.  The premise is a bit odd, but I actually don't mind that, because you've definitely pulled it off.  I look forward to more visuals :)

As I posted on my development blog, I'll be releasing a new Night Games update this evening(EST). I have some last minute testing and fixing to do, but I should be able to finish it in the next few hours.

I haven't gotten to much of the new content, but the mechanical improvements are very welcome.


I did notice that the Invite skill is bugged, it does not take the player's clothing into consideration.


Angel and Jewel tend to get pretty annoying. Angel because she can finish you off in seven or so turns with basic skills like kissing without the player being able to do anything about (this works the other way around as well; just kissing opponents is far too effective a strategy), and Jewel because she gets you into an infinite cycle of knee/pleasure while stunned/knee. I reckon this only gets worse with two turn stuns. Statuses like the ones nergantre made that give characters a resistance against falling after getting up would be most appreciated. That would also encourage skill diversity. At present, neither the player nor the NPCs have an incentive to mix things up.


Mmm, looking back that reads a bit overly negative. So to end on a positive note, I am very happy to see the progress and despite some reservations I might have it's getting better and better.

I tried doing nothing but seduction + kisses for the most part and I reached level 11 in 5 in game days. I nearly never lose a fight and consistently get 12+ wins every day. Yeah I think Kiss could be OP.


EDIT: Found a bug. When you beat Samantha, the game gets stuck.

Does Eve have only the one victory scene, does she have one where she's fucking the PC's ass? I can hardly find out, since unlike the mod (no shaming here) there's no option to lay down and take whatever the opponent is dishing out, and I only got her to fuck me once, but it was at the very turn that I lost.


Also as a side note, Kat seems to immediately remove all the PC's clothes whenever she suprises them, as well as (and I haven't been able to reliably test this one) tries to steal imaginary clothing, saying messages about removing my t-shirt whenever I'm having the one no clothing challenge active.

She does have such a scene, but it's broken. TSB: The scene requires the anal flag, but that is only set if one of the combatants is wearing a strapon when the match ends. Also, I think it would go wrong if the player were fucking Eve's ass and then lost because of the self-damage. Eve would then win with the anal flag, so her alternate scene would play, which assumes she's doing the fucking.

If you put a few points into Submissive, you can use the Cowardice skill to get her to hold you from behind. If you're both naked and you are lubricated, the chances are pretty high  she must fuck you. The AssFuck skill is mandatory for her, so she must use it whenever possible.

That's an interesting idea. It would definitely solve the 'incentive problem' I mentioned earlier. If repeated actions are only, say, 85% as powerful as normal actions (and hence 72% the third time, 61% the fourth...) then the combatants are basically forced to vary their strategies. It would probably take some additional infrastructure to accomplish this, I think it could be a serious improvement to the game. Familiarity breeds contempt, after all.

Ah, alright then. I've been so spoiled with the mod that it's kinda a stretch and almost a whole new experience to go back to the original game, haha.

I know what you mean; through an improbable sequence of events succubus-Angel got into cowgirl and I was like 'shiiiit!' because in the mod that would drain attribute points. Then I realized I wasn't playing the mod, and that it's actually possible to fuck succubi here without slowly resetting your attributes back to level 1.


It's kind of refreshing to have things relatively 'normal' compared to the utter lunacy (in a good way) of the mod.

I actually implemented this system fairly early in development (I think I tracked 10 moves). I don't remember what issues I ran into that prompted me to discard it. It might have been because there are some positions where you only have access to a few skills. Maybe it'll be fine. I'll try reimplementing it and see what happens.

Well, fucking moves should probably be immune from this, as well as position changing moves, utility moves, and stripping moves.  Maybe moves that require your opponent be naked first are less affected?  Other than that, it might be a good incentive to change positions.

I remember thinking about doing this too in the mod, but it ended up being a ton of work. You would need to somehow add a "skill effectiveness" modifier to every skill, and what that meant usually is different in terms of each skill. Does it only apply to raising lust/dishing out pain? or does it need to be more accurate? or does it apply statuses for longer? Or does it make your buffs stronger?


You would need to go in and code each skill to take advantage of a skill multiplier. And it doesn't necessarily make much of a difference in cases where the effects aren't very high (like if it's a lust gain of 4, there's literally no difference at 100% or 85% depending on how you round).


I guess what you could do is make skills fail when you use repeated moves. Like if you already used kiss, the next time you use it, kiss has a chance of failing because they're expecting it? But then as dark master says, you would then need to go in and tag different skills differently :(

If you have any descriptions for the new NPCs, I could probably make a few new portraits for them? I'm out on business again til mid january though, so contact will be pretty periodic.

Maybe just nerf kiss to do less damage when your opponent has high arousal. Kiss is really the only skill which is problematic when spammed.

Thanks, I often do that when copying and pasting, but usually I catch it in testing.

Maybe just nerf kiss to do less damage when your opponent has high arousal. Kiss is really the only skill which is problematic when spammed.

That's an interesting idea. I don't have anything that negatively scales with opponent's arousal, but it could be usually to enforce more structure into a fight. Kiss and a few other skills could be good skills for opening a fight, while encouraging the player to strip the opponent to access better finishing skills. I'll play with that a bit before the next update.

It would be a bit of work, but perhaps you could add an 'intensity' rating to all skills, and low-intensity skills become less powerful as the target's arousal gets higher. If that works, you could even do more fancy stuff like saying that high intensity skills require high arousal or high mojo to pull off. Most of this could probably be implemented in Character#[pain,pleasure,tempt,weaken], so that's less of a burden on each of the individual skills.

Edit: This has the distinct stench of a decompilation-induced bug, but the switch statements in the showScene() methods in Exercise, Porn and VideoGames seem to have the wrong scenes mapped to the enum constants... Like I said, probably caused by decompilation, but I thought I might as well mention it just to be sure.


Edit 2: The ability for high-cunning characters to strip two items is flawed: The minimum is 39 instead of the advertised 30 (curse those slippery keys!) and it's only implemented for tops.

I thought you actually stopped apart from here and there and nergantre modded it. Glad to see that this is still here - guess I'll check it out too! I'll consider it a Christmas gift or something :p


I'd second dndw's idea, but I'd like to suggest something that might aid future work... Although I'm not a developer or programmer, I was wondering if this would work...


You *could* have a sort of "heat" meter, which is increased to a cap as you get more and more pleasured towards orgasm. The higher your "heat", the more effect some of your opponent's skills have on you. It's supposed to stack further as you orgasm more and more during a fight. Heat can be reduced drastically (though not completely) by orgasm, raised at a slower rate my masturbating and surrendering (THERE's A POINT TO SURRENDER NOW?!), increased dramatically by having arousal over it's set limit (orgasm denial) and erased completely by bathing. Also reduced by finishing and gradually outside combat.


....and now I awkwardly notice that arousal and heat kinda means the same thing.


My point is, having something stackable to that effect as a separate statistic might be something that will allow dynamic changes in combat to happen. Intensity ideas can benefit, we can adjust success rolls based on heat (insertion-based moves become easier the more heat you have), etc. It IS, I do admit, almost the same as arousal, but the point is its stacking. You can scale it with the willpower bar, if anything. I'm not a developer, so I don't know how easy it is to implement, but it's just an idea - a more persistent, over-reaching yet separate version of the Arousal stat, scalable with willpower, that acts as a modifier rather than a tracker.


After all, if Angel jumps on you at 99% arousal and 15% willpower while she is at 99% arousal and 100% willpower (oh god you're screwed), surely that really should succeed more times than not.


Of course, you can make this more complicated by, say, faster stacking through certain moves if your Heat is high, or implement dndw's idea of intensity through it's use.


math wise, maybe something like...


Let x be " intensity" = heat/willpower, and... Let y be  = 1-x


To explain, x is what to use for high intensity actions, while y is for low intensity actions. For coding, though, 


For intense moves like fucking,


Thrust = score * (0.7+x)


For low-intensity moves,


Kiss = score * (0.2+y) = score * (1.2 - x)


In other words, 


[High Intensity] Total = subtotal * ( modifier + intensity ), where modifier < 1


[Low Intensity] Total = subtotal * (modifier - intensity), where modifier > 1


This also allows for different move versions to have, say, different modifiers. Or different perks even modifying this further. Unfortunately, it does mean a possible fuckton of headaches and frustration balancing the crap out of it all. To give a suggestion, try... 


IF "semenphage"=yes, then


[High Intensity] Total = subtotal * ( {modifier + 0.1*OrgasmCount} + intensity), OR


even just x = heat/willpower + 0.1*OrgasmCount --> i.e. Less talking, more fucking.


It DOES, however, pseudo-allows the, for example, reduction of effect of Kiss over time since, you know, intensity brah. 


Sorry for the long comment, and even more if you've thought of it before / is already implemented / definitely waaaaay too much. I'm not a developer, but at least I understand logic, and I can at least see that if you go deep into this, you'll be having the system do a ton of checking through perks and calculations. But it's just an idea to develop the background works to allow all the dynamic changes that might make all the ideas others have a reality.

There's one big problem with your suggestion, ScarredEyes.  That's that the main game doesn't have willpower or multiple orgasms, the first one to cum loses.
